Draconic constructions [Open!]

Date & Time: Backdated late June to mid-July
Location: All about the city
Characters: Celena and Open!
Summary: Celena sets herself to helping with repairs and constructions about the city and properly stretching her wings.
Warnings: None as yet.

[A] Helping with repairs.

For nearly half a month already, Celena had been hard at work repairing what she could, offering her assistance to any who would accept it. There was still much to be done but it was to the point now where she could focus beyond the immediate short term necessities of the natives effected. Putting her services out for those who still needed assistance in their repairs.

[B] Constructions abound.

Having taken time from repairs Celena finally set to the construction of her own abode, she needed a place where she could work relatively undisturbed. Having found a suitable location not far out from the initiatives Hold, a rather large ruin well beyond repair, Celena had set about salvaging what brick, metal and timber she could before clearing the rest. Something she had become quite skilled at during her works on board the Transmigration 9.

Without assistance the task would take some time indeed, thus she put out a call for assistance with the matter, it would be a good chance to get to know those she was to work with should any take up the call.

[C] In flight.

Every morning near without fail Celena's draconic form would grace the skies above Exsilium. Whether simply flying high above, enjoying the air beneath her wings or swooping almost daringly low over the rooftops as she honed her skill in this new city. She did miss having taller obstacles to weave her way between but she made do where she could.

After her flights she would oft rest a while finding building tops that would support her weight set down upon and watch the goings on of the city for a time.

[B] Anything else!

Aurican is flying as well.

Well, sort of. He manages to stay aloft and learns that about half the time he can manage to fly around the skies of Exsilium . . . the other time his wings will sometimes forgets he is even flying and his own mind is forced to take over, resulting in rather spectacular crash landings.

How is he uninjured is a mystery that Aurican is not interested in solving, thank you.

As he attempts his umpteenth time at launching himself into the sky, he spots splotches of red and gray amongst the drab color of the Exsilium sky.

Determined to at least reach the dragon, Aurican jumps up and climbs into the sky.

Aurican relaxes his mind as he climbs into the air - for some reason, he finds that relaxing his mind, trusting his instincts prove to be the better pilot of his body than his calculating thoughts. But it takes time for him to realize this understanding, so it is hit and miss at times.

"Hello, ah - " He scrambles to try to remember this dragon's name. "Celena? I am Aurican."

"Very much so," Aurican replies. "It's easier to learn when it's not raining."

He is grateful she is slowing down for him as he learns to readjust himself as he attempts to hover, which is easier said than done.

"I am fortunate," Aurican admits, not at all willing to say that more often than not, he goes crashing down. He does have his pride, after all.

"How do you fare with Exsilium?"

It took Jake a good deal longer to find the construction site thank he'd like to admit to. For such a clear map, he'd managed to bungle the whole thing in the map drawing process and wandered up and down the same street for a good ten minutes before he started wandering down other ones and found the right place.

Well, he was assuming it was the right place at any rate, since he was making the assumption that construction sites don't come equipped with fully grown dragons loitering around.

Now, while she might have come across as very friendly over the network, Jake still found himself creeping forward slowly as he got closer to his goal. He'd spent a good chunk of his life trying to avoid confrontations with the dragon on his island, and this was no easy thing to overcome!

Hoo-boy! That sure was a sight to behold. Screwing his courage to the sticking-place Jake forced himself to walk onto the construction site like a normal person. Well she definitely didn't seem like she was about to tear him limb from limb, which was a big reassurance and a welcome change to what he was used to at least.

He forced out a laugh, and tried to act dismissive of comment like the thought she might maul him had never even crossed his mind. "I'm glad I managed to find my way over here! That map of yours sure was handy though." Even if he still managed to get lost. No need to bring that up.

"So then is all of that your plan for all of this." He pointed first to her building plan, and then made a sweeping gesture at the site.

Jake had some pretty high tech gadgetry that his grandma had cooked up in her younger years, but he hadn't seen anything like this before. Up close and personal it seemed even more impressive! Wait, but this was a dragon he was talking to, maybe it was actually magic? Jake wasn't exactly sure where the line was drawn between those two things.

"Boy, it sure looks like there's a lot of work left to do." He looked away from the map to glance around the area and see if there were any other late arrivals coming to give them a hand with all of this. Dragon or not, this seemed like more than a two people project to him.

No worries

Jake twisted around to get a look at the piles himself. He didn't really have a good frame of reference for whether that was enough or not, but it sure looked like plenty to him. Just taking a gander at that pile made him feel a little overwhelmed.

"Er, right! Looks like it's all in order then. I guess we should get to work laying out... something somewhere."

His voice trailed off and he glanced up as his new dragon acquaintance in hopes that she had more of an idea of where to start with all of this than he did.

Jake wasn't even remotely subtle with his sigh of relief, though he tried to cover it up with a cough. Flooring was probably the only thing he really knew how to do thanks to the minimum experience he now had with that. Straightening up he moved a little closer to take a good at the image.

"Looks simple enough! I'm sure we can get this well under way."

Billy arrived with his sleeves rolled up, bags bulging with supplies, and the determination to repeat a success---and perhaps improve on it. Without the hindrance of a bathing facility, he could focus purely on optimizing stem production and keeping the home warm.

"Hey," Billy greeted, laying out his plan in front of him. It could still be difficult, depending on the adjustments he needed to make for the existing plans, but he would get this done.

Billy feels very small at the moment, but he sets that aside for a friendly wave. He knelt in front of his work and pointed as he explained.

"There's a near-constant flow of rainwater just beneath the surface as it leaks through cracks in the concrete and trickles down. If it's collected and heated, it will warm the flooring of your home. If I dig here and build the collection and heating mechanism with an easy withdrawal shaft for maintenance, it should be fine. Right?"

"It looks fine," Billy praised, kneeling to take a look at the projection. "If it's stable enough, I'd be happy to get started."

"All right, I'll extend the heating network," Billy agreed, sketching out a rudimentary addition to his work. As he did so, he shuffled along the ground, feeling out the places where he'd be working.

"How many friends were you planning to invite over?"
