Summary: we celebrate Lavi's birthday by letting all the weirdos in

Invitations have been whispered and confections baked with some measure of care (graciously, it remains that only one kitchen fire will have been set in the housing commons today), and Lenalee has placed her lure in Lavi's hands and trusted him to reel himself in.

It's- a little lacking, were she to place it against the Order's parties with intent to compare, but she is pleased with the work she and Oz have dedicated to the sitting room, sparsely decorated and laboriously cleaned (she'd become a little invested in it).

( oh hey it's shy boy from the pool that allen introduced by not introducing at all. collette's not exactly early, so when she does show up it's after people have started getting things ready or baking or just about anything else.

which means it's one teen girl in a wheelchair wearing pretty relaxed, sporty clothing (if canvas pants count as sporty at this point in the future centuries) and a loose red top with a cloth-wrapped bundle in her lap that pokes her head in the far end of the kitchen area, careful not to invade space and, you know, be a real nuisance.

[OH NO, HOW DID MIRANDA GET IN HERE. Don't let her touch the cakes SHE WILL RUIN THEM; Of this she is sure. She's keeping her hands clutched tight behind her and trying her best to avoid anything that may compromise the cakes.

[ Don't mind Caesar. He's just over here, in the kitchen, checking out the various cakes, deciding which one seems most feasible for a single normal teenage boy to eat all of (one would be surprised how many fit into this category). Eventually he settles on something with a single layer and easily balanced on one hand. Which is good, because he's taking it with him as he goes to dig a fork out of the silverware drawer!

It is his "we're sorry we didn't warn you about or technically invite you to the party we're having in your apartment" cake.

He feels it's justly deserved. Even though, also technically, he's just kind of stealing this thing instead of asking, but, well, okay, there isn't any good excuse but still! These people didn't need this many cakes, right? ]

[Suddenly, a voice cries out from the far side of the kitchen,]

[Where do you think you're going WITH THAT CAKE]

[Don't mind Lenalee, watching from the doorway with nary a sound while he collects what he considers his due. She'd expected more along the lines of a telling-off, but she shan't complain of his silent retaliation. Birthday parties are not the Order's forte to begin with.]

You can take the chocolate, if you'd like.

[ Lenalee Lee is only the most contrite, if she is making talk of sacrificing chocolate cake to the greater good ]

( collette looks from the greater room to her tablet, back to the greater room, then her tablet again.

There's no way they're letting me pick the playlist.

( especially when it screams of the 90's, 80's, some picks from the 60's, and the odd song that hangs around from the 50's, but nothing of today. then again, the only one subjected to her musical mix is usually caesar, and he's not there at the moment to steal her tablet away and save everyone the horror of today's hits circa 1997.

[ Unlike at the Black Order, where air grows tense in anticipation and hushed plans are whispered around headquarters when a birthday draws near, this surprise party actually is a total surprise to Lavi. Mostly because there's already been visits and gift-giving and he hasn't suspected a thing when Lenalee casually invited him to come over for coffee later on.

And how he can he say no to Lenalee's coffee?

He can't. So here he is some time after having received her gift, knocking on Unit 407's door. ]

[After Tyki leaves someone is quietly putting up a barrier around the apartment. At least going by the break-in to Allen's prison, any nosy Noahs would need another Crow to get in again if he uses the right wards.]
