Invitations have been whispered and confections baked with some measure of care (graciously, it remains that only one kitchen fire will have been set in the housing commons today), and Lenalee has placed her lure in Lavi's hands and trusted him to reel himself in.

It's- a little lacking, were she to place it against the Order's parties with intent to compare, but she is pleased with the work she and Oz have dedicated to the sitting room, sparsely decorated and laboriously cleaned (she'd become a little invested in it).

[ and the swelling panic, the swarm of voices pushing in on all sides of her (friends, family, some unaware, or- or deceived)- it punctures, somewhere, somewhere near to the heart, and it isn't intent to attack, exactly, which has her Boots flaring up as he moves towards Oz, but it's something pitted and hard all the same— ]

[He's been watching Tyki's every movement, barely listening to the conversation around him, waiting for any sign, signal that things might turn hairy...

Aaaand there we go. He's just going to march over and snatch Oz's plate (WITHOUT EVEN ASKING), before holding it out to Tyki. His smile is taut as a bowstring.]

Cake! ( She claps her hands, wanting to stop it and stop it all. Her fingers itch. In a way, it'd be so easy. Nothing would be solved...

Inaction as action is one of the most grating, consistent necessities in the world. )

( With the tension in the room, that look at Lenalee -- oh yeah. Yeah he had. )

( lenalee's reaction isn't actually unexpected; her anger had been palpable from across the room, although it's — certainly something, just like tyki's reaction to it.

what is unexpected is ALLEN STEALING HIS PLATE. he doesn't resist, of course, and it's hardly on accident that there was the extra slice in the first place, but he shoots allen a scandalized look anyway. )

[He takes the plate with only a bare glance at Allen, and taps the fork against the edge so it chimes. It's not a wine glass, but it'll do.]

[ The urge to just snatch the plate away again is strong, but Allen and Lenalee have the right idea. The quicker they can get him to leave the better because this is just getting too chaotic.

He tilts his head in polite inquiry, but his eye stays narrowed this time, suspicious. ]
