if we don't get this data NOW, it's doomsday
Date & Time: a nebulous time in the near future
Location: Adam's apartment
Characters: Adam & Vanadi
Summary: ROBROS HANGIN OUT and also somehow vanadi ended up with all his groceries at adam's place, so where else is he going to go when he's hungry
Warnings: n/a
[ He's... never really run out of money before. It's kind of a new experience, and it'd taken a while to sink in. First was the realization that he couldn't afford to find a restaurant, and next came realizing that he couldn't actually afford to buy food to cook, either.
Weird. He'd probably better stop buying drinks for every pretty person he comes across.
But anyway, somewhere in there had come the recollection that he'd already bought a good deal of food, and gone and left it all at Adam's. So, well, here he is, knocking and expectant.
Surely Adam won't really mind the impromptu visit. ]

Well, as you say, you make your bed and then you have to sleep in it. Regardless, Adam's not really expecting visitors, so when he hears a knock he assumes it's the landlord HOPEFULLY WITH HIS NEW MIRROR. The mirror in this apartment had managed to live a few days longer than than those in his old one, but when he stares at himself for more than two minutes his fist just seems to reflexively fly out at the reflective surface.
And he's not sure if that'll ever change. Maybe he can push it to three minutes.
So yeah anyway, this is Adam, grumpy and trudging over to the front door, getting ready to yell. ]
...
[ Or not. ]
What.
no subject
My, is that how you greet all your guests? I'm feeling welcome already!
[ At least he hasn't invited himself in yet, though. ]
no subject
[ And yup not moving to let him in or anything yet. CROSSES ARMS ABOVE CHEST. ]
What do you want.
no subject
I seem to have run out of food, and then recalled that I'd left a conveniently well-stocked kitchen here. Perhaps I could interest you in being treated to another meal, mm?
[ Because to be entirely honest, he'd prefer to cook for two than for one. One is just so lonely. ]
no subject
...
...sigh. Somehow he'd expected there was a reason behind Vanadi not taking all of that stuff over to his own place right away. Also he's incidentally hungry right now so he doesn't feel like being more of a dick and telling Vanadi to get inside, get his stuff, and then get out again. ]
If you insist. Just--next time, I'm sure it won't hurt you to let me know in advance.
[ Grunt. And he's moving to the side. ]
no subject
[ "Easier to ask forgiveness than permission" has always seemed like a lovely motto to him. But now he's moving inside, giving Adam's upper stomach a fond pat as he passes him (he's at a convenient height, alright), and heading for the kitchen. ]
And what can I interest you in tonight, then?
no subject
nevermind that Adam never asks for anything himself either.]Don't care. Make yourself at home, why don't you.
[ He gruffs, and goes back to whatever he was doing before. Prolly exercising with his miraculously fixed hand. ]
no subject
He sweeps off the mask to leave it sitting on a counter top, and immediately gets to the job of rifling through ingredients and pulling out likely ones. ]
You ought to look into getting a few more pots. Three, at least.
no subject
And since Adam's exercising, somewhere not in Vanadi's field of vision, he takes his time giving any responses. He hadn't really been in a conversational mood. ]
Waste of money.
[ Since he doesn't cook. And has no intention of ending up like Vanadi. ]
Bring you own if you need them that badly.
no subject
He spends a while longer in the den of the kitchen, making loud noises and chopping and setting things to boil, until he reaches a point where there's nothing really to do but wait for things to heat and seep. It's about then that he wanders back toward Adam, falling to a lean against the wall with arms folded over his chest to watch. Mmm, men exercising.
He'll consider the free show recompense for cooking a meal. ]
no subject
Also why is he watching him doing crunches. Or is he just watching his sweet
augmentedabs...Adam says nothing at first--if it bothers him he doesn't let it show--but he does have to wonder.
--Actually he does want to say something but he swallows it. Just grunts.]
no subject
Was that meant to be words, my friend?
no subject
[ hnnnnngh after the next one, he stops momentarily though and lays flat on his back, staring up at Vanadi. ]
I think something's burning. You better not be ruining my pots.
no subject
[ Gosh, accuse him of letting cooking get out of hand. He approaches, leaning over him with hands on his knees and smile in place. ]
Unless that was an attempt to call away your audience?
no subject
[ well he has an idea but he dares him to admit to it. then again he's fairly unused to people watching him while he's half-dressed to begin with. it's just strange. ]
no subject
Well, I would say the most interesting part is the play of muscles. You really look very good, I can tell this is a habit. Ah, but beyond that, I'll never say no to watching an attractive person keep him or herself in shape.
no subject
Really? Sounds to me like you just want to get laid. Perhaps you got the address wrong.
[ And is that a smirk? Yeah, I think for the first time there's a mild smirk. Though it passes quickly and the next word sounds a bit more harsh--now go, or else. ]
Kitchen.
no subject
[ He hovers a while longer, looking like he wants to contest that -- but it's hard to forget that this guy isn't afraid of unannounced punches. So with a quick smirk and a wink, he's headed back for the kitchen. It's about time to check on things again, anyway. ]
no subject
socializing, right. adam gives an exasperated sigh and debates whether or not he wants to continue exercising, but then decides against it, gets up, heads into the bedroom and
puts on a shirt. problem solved, hopefully. better check up on Vanadi too just to make sure he doesn't set the kitchen on fire or something. ]
no subject
Buuuut he doesn't comment this time, only makes a small mental note to back off a tiny bit on it. Adam could be one of those straight men intensely uncomfortable with flirting, and it's never good to overhwhelm those.
So instead: ] I would give it about 15 minutes from here, and I quite hope you're hungry.
no subject
Just a tiny bit curious, Adam looks into the pots and examines the state of the kitchen in general. ]
So... what are you making.
no subject
[ He glances over from the dicing he's working on, frowning just slightly. ]
Ah, but-- don't touch. It's quite delicate at this point.
no subject
[ Fffft. He'd offer to help if he didn't know that he's absolutely shit at anything kitchen related; the most he could do is cut shit up with his wristblades, ha ha.
Meg had always hated his dishes.
... He'll ask anyway. ]
Anything I can do to help?
no subject
You didn't have much in the way of food for cooking when I arrived here, not to mention the mayonnaise. [ SO DOUBTFUL, but... ] What can you do?
no subject
Cut things up. Put stuff into the oven?
[ ... Yeah that's pretty much it. ]
