Summary: COROSA CONTINUES TO BE A CRANKY SMELLY HOBO. possibly passes some interesting info on before he leaves. possibly gets some new clothes god.

[ Corosa's a common sight out in the nicer parts of the outlands; he avoids the hollowed-out cities and anything that looks even slightly urban, but he's right at home in what little countryside there is. It's now been long enough that he's quite familiar with the lands out here, and getting better at hunting game.

You might find him shooting at trees for target practice, or stalking after a ... seven-antlered buck. Or maybe asleep out in the open. Maybe perched on top of a hill to squint suspiciously at the sprawling ruins that he's been so diligently steering clear of for the past month or so. Or maybe just wandering around squinting suspiciously at the world in general, that's a thing he does. ]

[to be honest there was a little part of her that thought he would've scolded her or called her idea stupid. the fact that he did no such thing & even pointed her in the right direction just made her so... elated!]

Oh? [she follows where he gestured, face looking even brighter than before] Yes, you're right!

[okay, yes! LOOKS LIKE SHE HAS A PLAN! which is more than what she had when she first got here] Will you come with me?

[rorosa]

Certainly. I was headed that way myself. [ He goes after her, a little worried. It didn't seem as if she belonged out here; her bright cheer is terribly out of place in the face of all this grey rain.

Corosa takes the lead. He doesn't think that anyone else is out here, and all the wildlife is fairly non-aggressive (if skittish), but just in case.... ]

Did you come all the way out here by yourself?

[redemptio]

Splendid! Thank you ever so much for your company Corosa!

[like a faithful little puppy, she follows, hands joining behind her back as she walks]

Yes I did! I was a little afraid at first, but I pushed myself to go. I've read about these expanses but I wanted to see it first hand myself. [she was actually a little more afraid than she lets on, but part of her courage lies in her optimism]

What about you? What are you doing out here?

[rorosa]

Me? I live out here.

[ He's a little more careful about choosing his path now than he was before. He eyes every overhanging roof, every column with a little bit of suspicion, believing that just a little more wind might bring brick toppling down on them, debris falling onto their heads -- which wouldn't be a problem, normally, except that now he worries for Rosalyn as well.

So it takes him a while to formulate the rest of his response. He can only do one thing at a time. ]

Not-- not here, exactly. But in the wilderness.

[redemptio]

[she's not as worried about the terrain they're walking on as she should be, or at least it doesn't look it with the way she's smiling.]

You live out here? [well that explains why she's never seen him before. Rosalyn tilts her head curiously as she hops over a few fallen stones. this is a little fun!] May I ask why?

[rorosa]

I don't like the city. [ and the city, he is almost certain, doesn't like him. ] That's all, really. I prefer it out here... more open.

[ he switches topics as they near the well. ]

There's a few more of us in the city though. An acoly-- a priest that I met once is here. And there's a monk now, too. I think.

[redemptio]

Oh--! You know Ashraf & Jac? What a splendid coincidence! They are both friends of mine.

[she giggles, not minding at all about the change of subject] Hehe, what a truly small world we're in!

[rorosa]

[ Jac -- was that his name? There hadn't been much time for introductions, in all that mess. ]

How are they? I haven't seen them in a while. [ Then, almost to himself: ] They probably didn't mention me.

[ He stops walking now, looking around, hunting for plant life... there's a bit more of it here. Splashes of green in shadows and corners, between broken-up roads, in the shelter of standing walls. But still struggling. ]

[redemptio]

They are just fine! I've been so blessed to have the chance to meet people from home here.

[when he stops, she does too, keeping her eyes peeled for anything she could bring back to the city]

These poor things... they're using all their strength to find life. [she walks over to a string of green pushing through rubble & crouches down with a sympathetic smile as a hand touches it gingerly] I feel sorry for them.

[rorosa]

[ He follows her, and gingerly pushes at the rubble with the toe of his boot. It's loose; they could probably clear it off, free the roots, maybe get the sprout out without much damage.... ]

Why? [ He stares at Rosalyn, eyebrows raised. ] They're only plants.

[ Then, after a bit of thought: ] I think there's some gardens in the city, too... Have you seen them yet? They're a little out of the way.

[redemptio]

Plants are living beings too! [huff huff!]

I haven't seen anything of the sort in the city. [she tilts her head as she glances up. she'd been cooped up in the library since her arrival that she never got the chance to really explore]

[rorosa]

[ Corosa just blinks at the outburst, and shrugs. All right. He supposes they are. ]

There's this... strange building somewhere.... Lots of fallen statues, lots of plants. Looks a mess, though. If I ever come back to the city I might be able to show you. [ He's unable to give directions to it, but he thinks if he went searching in person, he'd be able to find it without problem.

A slightly more helpful thought occurs to him, then. ]

Or you should ask for Simmaeri. She's another Transport -- she'll know where it is.
