The Hangover from Hell

Summary: Lucy's woken up with the hangover from hell. Natsu crashed on the couch. She has no clue what she did, hahaha, awkwardness ensues.

Lucy's dreams had been plagued with demons. Red haired demons chasing her down a spiraling path, bottles of booze scattered over the floor, tempting her with coaxing 'drink meeeeeeeeeeeee' calls. Yet if she stopped to be tempted, the demon started to catch up. Just as she was sprinting around a corner, she heard the demon howling behind her, hot breath on her neck and she screamed -

Only to wake up with a start and a squeak in her bed, still in her masquerade gown, though her mask has been taken off at least. Rumpled, sleepy, and the slightest sound causing her head to pound like someone was beating on it with a pair of drum sticks, she groggily pushed herself off of the bed.

She was home, so ... she must have made it back somehow. She couldn't remember what had happened the previous night, in all honesty, but it couldn't have been that bad. She hoped. Ugh, she had to cross into the living room, shading her eyes all the way, wanting to head into the bathroom. Had she noticed an extra guest? Nosuh, she hadn't!

He'd better not laugh! And the more he pestered, the more she got flustered. "W... Why not? I shouldn't even have to answer that!" ... granted she didn't really mind as much as she protested, and when it got colder it would be kind of nice to have a warm body the- noonononono.

FFFgh that sharp hearing, damnit. "Just get it out your head already!" No matter how empty and lonely the bed would be, she could fill it up with pillows and stuffed animals. Yah!

At Natsu's reaction though, she grinned, "Okay if you're sure," she tucked the dishes into one hand, reaching over with her free hand to poke his forehead lightly. Muffling a soft giggle, she padded over to the kitchen sink, running water to clean the dishes.

"... but you know," she said after a moment of silence to calm herself down, "If you really do get lonely... you can still come over." Just not at ungodly hours of the night, through her window, or in her bed.

Which meant that was probably exactly when he was going to pick his visitation half the time.

"Totally sure." Natsu nods furiously before he feels her finger against his forehead. Did she just more or less okay his visits after just saying no like mere moments ago? Are all girls this confusing? No he's pretty sure it's just Lucy.

Still the offer does serve to calm him down. "Okay I'll remember that."

Though to be honest it's not like he'll abuse that more than he already does. And yes his choice of timing would probably stay the same as well as his choice of entry. It's just more fun that way.

Hey there was a HUUUUUUUGE difference between saying he could hang out, and approving his nightly visits!

Though Lucy kinda brought that on herself in not clarifying when he could visit. Plus he was crazy and liked to pick the most outof the way ways of getting in that he could. Weirdo.

She stretched her arms slightly, arching her back and wincing at a pop or two. Erf. "I think I'm finally starting to feel human again." She put the dishes to the side to dry, reaching up to tentatively start opening the curtains again.

"So what are you gonna do today? Other than calling the people you remember running into I mean." Natsu doesn't really have any plans for the day other than finding some kind of place that is out of the way so he can practice his Magic and maybe his new shiny toy.

Funny enough, Lucy had been planning on doing something similar. "I don't have anything specific. I'll go see Erza and that way was can make our apologies at the same time. It'll be easier that way, I think. After that I might see about checking out the library - I haven't been yet, surprisingly." Maybe there would be some information on the United Earth, or these sentient weapons.

"Lets hope she's gotten over the worst of it by then." Natsu mutters doubtfully.

"You mean you didn't poke your nose around there until now? That's a first. The first thing you did in Edolas once we got some breathing time was buy a history book of that world." And he remembers also how extremely happy she was with her purchase.

Such a negative nancy, Natsu! Or well, Negative Natsu, actually. Well who needs to nitpick the details right? Lucy shook her head at the question though. "I wanted to, but I was recuperating when I got here."

TEchnically she arrived still injured, and while she had come across a healer, it still took her a bit to recover. "And Erza wasn't in much better shape when she arrived, so I'd been checking up on her then." And that was about a month of time, so when she hadn't been with Erza she'd been looking around and training, too preoccupied to go to the library.

Well technically she'd been /once/ but didn't really look around in it much.

Hearing about how she arrived only served to ruin his mood. Again. Lucy got hurt and was in this place all on her own. Sure she's a capable one but he can't help but wish he'd been here from the start to help her out.

"I guess that's a trend of this place for us. The whole not bringing us here when we're at our best I mean."

Oh dear. She hadn't meant to ruin his mood. It wasn't like it was his fault, it was that fatass voodoo jerk's! She wandered back to the table, reclaiming her chair, "Maybe so, but that's okay. We always come out on top, no matter what situation we're put in."

Natsu had been among the first she'd asked about when she arrived, given the situation. "We're stronger when we're together." Maybe that's why Erza got pulled so soon after Lucy.

Natsu blinked before grinning proudly. Lucy always knew what to say huh? "Yeah we are. Still I'm glad you didn't get to be here alone for too long." He remembers her speech and Kain had cornered them both. So of course if she'd ended up remaining alone in this place...no not going to think about it. Doesn't matter. It's a possibility that never happened and can't happen as far as he's concerned.

She tried. It was just wrong to see her friend down, after all. "So am I." Lucy grinned. And the luck that the ones to have been brought here being members of her own team was amazing. But ..better not to even thing about more unpleasant thoughts.

"What are you planning for today then?" He knew her schedule, after all.

"Me? Well after we see how Erza's doing I was thinking of looking around for a place out of the way where I could train. Can't allow to get rusty not to mention in a risky place like this. I also wanna try out the weapon too. See how they feel when trying them out all the way." So simple minded with his goals but they aren't unreasonable at least. The sooner he mastered his new tool the better he can fight alongside the others.

"Hmhm," Lucy nodnods at that plan of action, grinning. "I'm not surprised that's your plan. I guess you're going to start sparring with people too, when you get the hang of things?"

Lucy wasn't so much for sparring, and she technically REALLY should be focusing on the whip that had been modified for her, but she almost never used her whip in battle. But at the same time, if something were to happen and she were left without her spirits, she'd be helpless with no way to fight back.

"Yeah. Met this guy named Chrono when I woke up here. He talked as if he was pretty strong and we agreed that if I find a place, he'd fight me once." Look at him getting all excited like a child in a candy store.

"If you wanna tag along you're welcome. " He's confident he has enough firepower to keep both Lucy and Chrono entertained. Oh yes~

Awwww, Lucy just grins at how excited Natsu's getting. And oh, firepower. I see what you did thar. "Okay, just let me know when you two are going." Because she was curious to see how Chrono would hold up against Natsu.

He always gets that way when fighting is involved. Especially when the opponenet is potentially very very strong.

"I'll give you a call when we figure out the time and place."

Natsu looks at the time on his tablet and frowns doubtfully.

"Think she's up by now?"

"Okay." She props her chin on her hand, pausing to look towards her own clock - since her tablet was in the other room - at the question.

"Mm... Maybe? I don't think Erza would sleep in late, even with a hangover." Then again, . .. "Do you think we should check?"

Natsu's none to eager to show his face around Erza. Not after he unceremoniously headbutted her last night. But there is a chance she won't even remember that. Hmm yes there is that.

"Well....might be okay if we try at least." Just pray for a safe visit.

Lucy was equally nervous, but... okay maybe not Equally. Natsu would always have Lucy beat in the panic and fear department when it came to Erza, given his history with her. But nothing bad would happen! Surely!

"All right, then lets go." She pushed her chair back, to get up. Better now than never, right? Don't worry Natsu, Erza needs you! she won't kill you!

Hahaha yeah surely nothing...bad...oh who was he kidding? First thing he'd do the moment he saw her would be to grovel at her feet apologizing over and over again. Because this was Erza they were going to see. A potentially cranky Erza at that.

"If you feel up to it." Well he would be next to her in case she wanted a shoulder to hold on to along the way.

Lucy nodded, "I think Erza's on the...seventh or .. eighth floor. I can manage that much." Well, she might hang onto his shoulder when they hit the stairs, so she didn't slip or mis-step.

But at least she wouldn't be latching onto his arm this time, right? Right? "Besides, I feel she might be angry if we don't check up on her." And prepare themselves to face the music.

And thank god for that. Having Lucy do that kind of thing while completely conscious would probably break a large part of his mind. Still Natsu was not in any real hurry. Not like Erza was in danger or anything.

"After last night she'll be angry either way." Natsu muttered under his breath.

Sorry she didn't catch that Natsu, speak up! Lucy padded halfway to the middle of the living room, pausing to contemplate. Should she actually leave a note for her roomies?

Eh, nah, odds are she'd get back to the apartment before they did anyway, and it wasn't like they needed to keep tabs on each other. "Did you say something?" She lacks the extra sensitive hearing of a drunker Lucy~!

"Nah didn't say anything." Natsu shook his head brushing aside his worries for the moment. He was wondering what Lucy was doing walking back in and stopping in the middle of the room. Probably just more of her being weird. Natsu joined his hands behind his head and looked at the ceiling.

"So, ready to go?"

Yep yep, that was her all right. Weird as they come. Not that she'd ever admit to it, because as far as she was concerned, she was absolutely normal. "Yes - I was just woolgathering for a moment." Making sure she turned everything off, checking her keys for the thirtieth time, before heading off with her bestie.

"I thought maybe I should leave a note but ...I won't be gone that long. Although I think I might go and check out the library after we see Erza. Getting some fresh air will probably be good for me."
