[PLOT] That's no ordinary rabbit
Date & Time: All day Friday, December 14th and onward.
Location: Initiate Hold
Characters: All
Summary: The plague has taken hold and there are rampant, angry undead critters running around! Better get rid of them quick, before you attract the Scourge Horde.
Warnings: Undead attacks, localized around cute woodland critters.
[The death tolls of all the woodland animals had come around the same time. Some lasted longer than others, but for the most part, it appeared that most of the sickly animals had passed sometime in the middle of the night. The next morning, transports would awaken to find their furry friends looking...well, less than furry. Their eyes glow a sickly yellow, patches of fur fall off their body, and they continuously cry for help.
Help from whom? You?
Or the group of rampaging ghouls charging toward you?]
[ooc: Original plot post is here!. If you would like me to NPC ghoul attacks in your thread, please mark your subject line with three asterisks. (***) Otherwise, feel free to do it amongst yourselves! Please note that I won't be able to NPC threads until tomorrow afternoon.]

[for Adam Park]
But he needed to secure a part. He ran to the junkyard, seizing a pipe, and retreated...but too late. He was already drawn into battle with a zombie rabbit, swiping at it---his tridents, while useful in many other ways, were not the best weapons for attacking rabbits. He really needed a gun or some other projectile weapon. What he wouldn't give for his old Blade Blaster right now.
Next project! If he lived, of course. For now, it was time to keep running and hoping.
sorry billy and bunny.
While he wasn't expecting to get any type of vacation being brought to this place, the undead creatures on his second day was not a good start. Just great, he thought he left his crappy luck back in Fortuna. Apparently not. He didn't know why he was even at the junkyard in the first place. Just...something was nagging at him like he could find something useful there. It took time but the man reached it without any fuss, but just in case, he morphed into his ranger form because it already has a weapon included with it.
Then he saw someone being chased by more of those undead rabbits...didn't he look familiar? It almost looks like-
"Billy?!"
No time to waste pondering if that is indeed his friend and fellow ranger. There will be one bunny being slammed into some junk aside due to a good hard kick from Adam.
"Zombie bunnies...that's a new one."
no subject
...the Black Ranger, kicking the rabbit out of the way? Billy almost stopped completely in shock, but he knew enough to keep running.
"Adam? But I thought---the power coins---never mind, let's go!" The noises were beginning to unnerve him. Billy ran, his tridents still ready at his sides in case a bigger creature attacked. Once they holed up and sealed up, they'd be fine to talk.
"I'm almost wishing for something bigger here."
no subject
"Be careful what you wish for, it might come true." the voice behind the helmet certainly sounds older than what you may remember Billy but it still doesn't help that the cute woodland creatures are still at their heels and ready to bite at them.
"Go ahead, I got your back!"
no subject
They're on the streets now, close to the hold. He's grateful for Adam's protection, he really is, but he wishes deep down that there was something he could do. He swings his blade as they leap in front of him to shield himself, glancing one, and then there's a flash.
A thunderbolt jumps from his weapon, stunning one long enough for Billy to leap away. Huh. He'll stop to think about that and all the oddities about Adam when they're clear.
"They're trying to swarm the door!"
no subject
Crap, what to do?
"...this is going to sound really stupid but...you up for a rush?"
no subject
He's a little worried, given that it's been a long time since he was in serious combat, but he nods. He'll have to get back in the saddle sometime.
"Affirmative." Billy spins both pieces of the weapon in his hands, and another bolt springs at a rabbit. His aim's a little off---but he rushes, blades at the ready. The next time is better. He doesn't dive too low and afford them a chance to bite him as he attacks, instead swiping in mid-air and spinning the other piece high. Bolts strike the ground, closer this time. Finally one hits its mark, leaving an interesting frying scent.
The other half of the horde is Adam's, Billy thinks as he connects both pieces to sweep low. No time to think here.
no subject
They've been through worse. He's been through worse.
Adam takes a crouching stance, Power Axe pointing upwards then dashes into the crowd of undead creatures. Instead of slashing the monsters, he uses the weapon like a club and gets them hard. Call him crazy but slashing woodland creatures with Zordon's weapon didn't feel right. Maybe around this pithole there is something he could use. Hell, if he fought cougars with a hatchet then it would be fine for these critters.
But it didn't mean the ranger couldn't destroy them. It was just a little more...creative the way he did the deed.
no subject
"We're going in, right? On three---one, two---
He almost wraps around the door in his haste, peering at as much of the chaos as he can. Please work!
no subject
And he helps get the door open with as much strength as he could muster, keeping an eye on the one in front before anymore of the killer rabbits could try to attack. And when Billy is safe inside, Adam will slam the entrance shut and keep out anything trying to kill them.
no subject
"...thanks. How many times do I owe you, now?" Billy asks, turning to make eye contact with Adam's visor. He still can't quite believe that his friend is still a ranger, and that's not the only thing about him that doesn't exactly match his knowledge.
no subject
And when the gear was gone, what is standing there is an older version of the friend Billy knew at one point in time. The clothes that he wore look like they went through the wringer and his face looks like he's seen a lot during such a small period. What showed more was his eyes: they look so...tired.
no subject
Something about the sight tears at Billy. It couldn't have been an easy life (when was it ever?). It's been years on his end, and who knows what future Billy's connection with Adam is like? It has to be strange for both of them.
He hesitates, then comes a little closer, unsure whether to reach out. "How'd you get a working power coin?"
It might be a bit of an insensitive question, but it's the first one that springs to mind.
no subject
"Would you believe me if I told you a glowing knight gave some his power to restore it?"
no subject
"I just wish I had the luck to run into one."
no subject
Adam could figure out that Billy is from when the Zeo Rangers existed because that's when Rocky took up his color. It had to be hard to give up something freely while still wanting to make a difference. But he couldn't figure out when from that time he was taken.
"Before you came here, what's the last thing you remember?"
no subject
no subject
It's still so strange to see friends that look like they've never gotten older while he on the other hand has.
no subject
Billy tentatively approaches, still working through the dozens of questions in his head. "Do you want to run up to an apartment? I think we could use some refreshment. Once we're sure the door's sealed, of course---can't pass out on the job."
no subject
It's blunt at first but Adam means well. Running from a small horde of undead animals is nothing compared to the monsters of Fortuna and with a small supply on hand, he's built up some good endurance.
no subject
"Fine. I've been through worse. And I didn't let myself get completely out of shape just because I'm not fighting anymore," he added, feeling a little defensive. He hugged his arms around himself.
no subject
"Sorry, it's a habit I've picked up along the way. It's the same with everyone I've run into in the past couple of years."
He knows Billy is fully capable of fighting and standing on his own but he even said the same thing to the most skilled of fighters. Going away from a comfort zone puts things in perspective.
no subject
"No, it's fine. I know I'm not a Ranger anymore. Even two Cogs could overpower me back home. I guess it's just been hard---I have tighter limits, I've learned them, but now I'm supposed to expand them again. It's a little confusing."
no subject
His tone is firm as he speaks.
"And I don't mean an 'honorary' one either."
no subject
Billy looks absolutely baffled, though a small note of bitterness works its way out. He lifts his hand to count off his points, finger by finger.
"You know that's not true. You're the Rangers. You guys are always together: in school, training, or out fighting. I'm mission support, I spend half my life in the Power Chamber. It's not glamorous but it's the best place for me. I mean...I suppose I have a better chance of surviving on the front lines with a weapon that can do all this, and I know I'll have to be on the line, but it's not the same."
