Mass Logs [Closed to the following in the cuts]
Date & Time:Jan 7. Jan 9, Jan 10, Jan 11
Location: (in order) The City Black Market District, Hold Training area, Lee's Workshop, Lee's Workshop
Characters: Collette, Margulis, Ghost, Billy Cranston, Taicea and Lee
Summary: All this week Lee has been booked pretty solid with people he's either just met, or people that are curious about his work. One of them is a date. Threads will be separated for organization.
Warnings: It's a semi-open log, but if any of the threads start to go in a direction that needs some privacy, they may be moved to a musebox for comfort.
Jan 7 Monday (Market Place)
Lee had agreed to meet Collette at the appointed time even though he didn't know her name. His geosynchronous watch was never wrong. 4:05 exactly on the dot, he waited patiently for her to arrive. She had his picture, and he had nothing to go on other than he knew that she was a Transport and nothing more. Blind dates were exciting but at the same time the possibility of being stood up were much higher. Even if nothing came of it, it didn't matter. He would still buy the chocolate.
Jan 9 Wednesday (Hold Training Center)
Lee was in a funk from his break-up with Leliana and his date with Collette left him with mixed feelings if it would work at all. His flirtatious banter with Blaine and a few others left him wondering if he was ever going to find happiness on a personal level in this place. The scientist-spy started in on his stretches that were a lot more advanced that resembled more a gymnast than a martial artist. It was something he's done many times throughout his life. Tumbles, flips and passes on the mat helped him keep his focus. He stood at the corner of the training mat and took in a deep breath before he made another pass. Little did he know that Margulis had been watching him. The two still awaited for their orders on their mission and both men were feeling antsy.
Jan 10 Thursday (Lee's Workshop)
With the discovery of Ghost's helmet being smashed and his cannon almost complete for a formal test, which still needed a lot of work, he couldn't let his friend be without the one thing that she needed most in this place. Lee had his own purpose but the way he chose to remain hidden was just the opposite. He knew how to obfuscate. If he didn't want something discovered, he wouldn't mention it nor tell anyone about it. The cannon was now out. He made a promise and he was going to keep it.
Jan 11 Friday (Lee's Workshop)
Taicea wanted to see the cannon, Billy was going to help him refine it. The vortex cannon was being tooled and scrutinized by now two very keen minds with the third being curious with her eagerness to learn everything she can. It was a good day for Lee. Not to mention, the serum he made for Billy was going into the right hands in case he has a relapse. That was a secret he never wanted revealed. Plans were laid out along with notes, mathematical formulas, and several pages of miss trials that he kept tight watch over. Lee knew that it would take more than just himself to make it work into perfection. With the fabricated tool in his hand, he tightened up the bolts that held the gas lines in place while he waited for his guests to arrive.

It didn't take long to get that removed either. "Damn. I forgot to ask you if this had a HUD or Head's-Up_display."

Now came the removal of the wires and switches from their points. Everything seemed like it would come apart but since the circuit board was fried, he needed to remove the solder points to free the wires. He used a wax pencil to mark the removal points for reference. Now, came the testing of the components themselves to make sure that at least they worked.

Majority of the component were still in working in order. Only a few were damaged.

After his inspection, he placed the good parts inside a metal box for safe keeping and used a piece of tape to keep all the small screws and bolts in place and folded it up.
"The trick is not losing those little things. I don't have enough spares." He labeled the tape and started in on her mouth piece. "The trouble is that I don't think it was insulated enough to protect against your Nether. That is going to be interesting." And a challenge that he really looked forward to.

Ghost chewed her bottom lip for a few moments before speaking again, "So...why do you care so much 'bout me dyin' or goin' home?"
no subject
"You're my friend." He said as he looked up from his work. "If I had just thought of you as another piece of tail around here, I wouldn't have given a second thought, but you were the first friend I ever had in this place other than my roommate. I like you. Maybe I was a little selfish when I said that I didn't want to see you go home, but dying, that's not something I want to see happen to you. You should be able to choose and it was wrong of me to try to dictate your life."

His response was met with silence for several moments. Her gaze went from him then to the floor. "...Oh." She could feel her face burning so she reached up to pull her hair forward to hide it.

"But if your comfortable, who am I to argue?" He returned to his work to tape together the broken pieces for the wax mold insert.

He leaned back on his chair a bit. "What would like to know? It's alright, you can ask me anything. I won't diverge from it."

My father was an engineer, my mother was a mathematician. I was told they died in a car crash just outside Hong Kong but the truth was they were caught in a bombing during the Civil riots that broke out between those that wanted to remain Communist and those that wanted to remain free. It was still an accident.
My grandmother died when I was ten and that left me with no one to care for me so it was my friend that became my brother. We grew up with two very different upbringings. Kazuya's education was mostly around fighting and tradition. Mine was more liberal and modern that involved languages, the arts and a lot of math. I wasn't allowed to learn the family traditions." Lee mused. It was a long time since he thought about it.
"As I grew older, I was sent to the United States to learn more. I didn't realize it at the time that I was sent away because Kazuya was said to be killed and I wasn't supposed to know about that. I didn't question it. I just saw it as another opportunity. At seventeen, I graduated high school and immediately went to college that same year where I learned the art of partying and seduction as well as learned about physics, biochemistry and robotics. I graduated with a three point seven-nine grade point average and went on to get my Masters in Robotics with my Bachelors in Corporate Management.
I've never married, never had a steady relationship, and never knew what a real family life was like outside of my early childhood. I didn't think having friends was something that important to me until I was much older." Lee's voice sounded more introspective at this point. "I betrayed people and that was a hard lesson to learn. When I found out that Kazuya was killed by his own father, I think that's when I was driven to the point of hating. I never felt that emotion before and it hurt. I think...that was the first time I cried since I was little."
no subject
"I ne'er knew my birth parents," she commented offhandedly. "I always wondered what m'life would've been like if I coulda finished school. Guess I'll ne'er know."
She decided to just skip over all the stuff about seduction and relationships. "Why did Kazuya's father kill him?"
no subject
He laughed sardonically. "That's part of the reason why I don't age as fast. You see, I tested the stuff that brought him back. According to Kazuya, our father killed him so he could gain the power of the Devil Gene. What that is, is a gene that thrives on violence and forces the host body into a state of metamorphosis through that hate. The stronger the hate, the stronger the Devil becomes. In Kazuya's case, since he didn't truly die, Heihachi, our father, never gained its power."
no subject
"So you are still aging then." Even if he was the Nether on him was definitely more strange than that on any normal human.
no subject
You see, the Mishima family, the family I was adopted into, were to find a way to stop the Devil Gene without resorting to violence, then my purpose would be over and I would retire. I had hoped to retire years ago and I did from fighting. The Mishimas put on these tournaments as front to bring them together to kill each other. And now with Heihachi's father back from the grave, it's Hell on Earth." He sighed and rubbed his temples. "It gives me a headache thinking about that chaos."
"I didn't mention Kazuya's son, Jin. He's a good kid deep down but he's just as messed up as the rest of the family and by proxy, I was brought down by their reputation." That was something that Lee didn't like most.

He did have his moments but he kept those to a minimum.

Ghost bobbed a bit in the air. She couldn't think of any other questions at the moment so it was up to Lee to go on with anything else if he had it. If not...well, she'd answer questions if he asked them. It was only fair.
