[open to all] LET'S STEAL CHRISTMAS
Date & Time: 05/04/12 - Midnight
Location: Several different broken into apartments...
Characters: Jack Spicer and YOU!
Summary: Jack is getting desperate for materials, so he's breaking into people's apartments to take anything of value.
Warnings: Possibly violence (HE'S PROBABLY GONNA GET BEATEN UP A WHOLE LOT.....)
[Waiting it out and playing good guy in order to earn enough money to buy resources just didn't sit well with Jack. He'd considered several different methods of gathering the necessary tools but this was the quickest and easiest way he could think of. Once it hit midnight, he left his own living quarters and went off into the night with nothing but his backpack and a burlap sack, stalking the halls of exsilium and blending in quite well with everything, inwardly mocking people who made fun of his outfit. USEFUL NOW ISN'T IT. In any case, he eventually came across a door, tossing a few looks down either side of the hall before a mechanical limb extended from his backpack, a small key shaped object at the end of it, which inserted itself into the lock of his current target. For a few seconds it'd just sort of jiggle around in the lock, before the door clicked open, the limb retracting back into his backpack. He was getting the hang of using this 'sentient weapon' thing, and he was really loving it so far, especially since he discovered it can do things like this. Now that he was in, it was just a case of robbing a few suckers blind and reaping the benefits the next day, or so he thought.]
[ooc: feel free to have potential victims react however you want! Maybe they find him, maybe they're still asleep, anything goes! B)]

[He stands back up straight, staring at Martin. Hey, if the guy doesn't want them and he can take them by just asking, he'll accept that at this stage. He's had a really rough night so far.]
Cause if not, uh, I could really use them..
no subject
But they're asleep right now. Maybe...Maybe I can ask them when they're awake...
no subject
[LOOK AT THIS FACE. MARTIN YOU CAN
NOTTRUST THIS FACE.]no subject
frown.
wince.]
I don't...I don't think that's a good idea...I'm sorry, I don't--
no subject
I've got a better idea! Why don't you turn around and get out?
[For the love of Andraste, the boy looks -- young.]
/whoops
Jack sighs, putting the bag out of sight in the hallway then drops to his knees, putting both hands together.]
PLEEEEEEASE! Just one kitchen appliance, it's all I ask! My roommates won't let me use ours! They let me starve for their own amusement!
[Yes he's really willing to go this far.]
and here comes the other one woops...
well actually she had been up just a few minutes before Alistair had made his appearance known, and had been hovering by the door, eavesdropping.
now, she's listening extra carefully, hoping the intruder would heed Alistair's warning without another incident, but she hears a distinct thump of someone dropping to their knees and...
pleading.
she scrunches up her nose in annoyance. oh how loathsome. grabbing her nightgown she exits the room, heading towards the commotion.]
Back home I would have my guards cut the fingers off any attempted thief and hang them in the dungeons by their thumbs for my amusement.
[it's a lie, Anora totally isn't that violent. but Alistair had his sword, and she had her...words. while Martin was just.
well, he was there.]
Give us a better reason why I shouldn't have my husband do the same to you.
no subject
[That's half genuine, but also half-keep-up-the-pathetic-act. Except him being pathetic usually isn't an act of any kind.]
If I get sent home without fingers my mom, she...
[Sniffle. Now he's sobbing a little. He can pretty much turn it on and off willingly at this stage, which is handy in situations like this.]
She'll be so sad!...but she'll also be sad if it turned out her son hasn't eaten since he went missing.
[And now he'll cry into his jacket's sleeve, too.]
no subject
Martin, feeling super-guilty for little-to-no reason (maybe i should've just let him take the stuff...), has shrunk almost completely away from the scene with the addition of people, but--]
If...If he really needs help, uh...
no subject
If it's food that you need, why are you trying to steal technology? That doesn't make any sense. What's happened to your stipend from the Initiative?
no subject
I highly doubt he needs help.
[she'll however, remain quiet for the moment, waiting to see if this boy will answer any of Alistair's questions.]
no subject
[Damn. You may notice he's just...stopped sobbing instantly.]
They took that too?
[INNOCENT GRIN]
no subject
not very convincing, actually. the face.
Martin winces, a little less than he did when Anora touched him, shooting a glance to the adults. they were going to probably hit him, weren't they? that's usually what happens...]
no subject
I really think it's best if you leave now. The Queen has quite the temper, as you can see.
[He placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. He wasn't going to strike down a child, but a little encouragement to leave was always a good idea.]
no subject
in response to Alistair's statement, she crosses her arms, jutting out her chin just a little as though to affirm that yes, she does in fact mean business and her temper can get nasty.]
Yes, run home and tell this mother of yours that you'll just have to try elsewhere.
[a pointed pause]
Assuming you value your life.
no subject
Yeah, yeah, I get the whole leave-before-I-kill-you thing a lot back home. I got the message, lady.
[And he'll start walking, but only as soon as he's sure he's got far away enough that he could either outrun or outfly them.]
You'll pay for this y'know! Noone threatens JACK SPICER, EVIL BOY GENIUS and gets away with it!
no subject
that......was.....uhhhhh...]
no subject
SEE ANORA, he can sometimes be helpful with things.]
Well, that was ... eventful.
no subject
she doesn't hesitate to close the door, and takes extra care in locking it. she looks at Alistair, then at Martin who looks just as confused as she feels. her face sets into a frown.]
Let's just hope that's the last we have to worry of thieves. Next time you see anyone attempting anything this late at night, you wake either one of us up to handle the situation.
Preferably Alistair.
[because he can at least be physically intimidating when the time calls for it. ...also the last thing she wants is to be shaken awake by Martin.]
Now then, I'll be heading back to bed.
[she brushes pass the two of them to return to her bedroom.]
no subject
[which leaves him standing there staring at Alistair's feet, shooting a wary glance upward after a gulp.]
Umh...[down again.] Sorry.
no subject
What is it that you're sorry for, exactly?
[He wouldn't have expected a child to do anything to try and stop a would-be robber, young or not.]
no subject
no subject
[He shrugs.]
I'd rather you not try to put yourself into a situation you can't handle.
no subject
Yes, sir.
no subject
[And that's -- not reassuring at all. He doesn't think before he speaks sometimes.]
Er, that is. I don't think either of us would like you to get hurt.
