Brother My Brother [Closed]

Date & Time: Backdated to after the conversation with that green haired witch. (Feb. 5)
Location: Nunnally's apartment
Characters: Moe Little Sister ([personal profile] readsthelines) and Derp Brother ([personal profile] kingside)
Summary: Siblings from parallel worlds meet...or is it reunite?
Warnings: Possible cavity inducing because it's Nunnally.

While someone is currently on their way to see her, Nunnally has no idea about him being in the city. Her last memory of him is that of a hug and vanishing into the night, becoming the Demon King who would be in conflict with those trying to achieve peace.

She also would've made a post on the network asking if anyone knew him or anyone else from home but she hit a little snag: a cold.

First week in and she's sick and it's hard to get up from her bed at times. She blames all the rain.

In contrast to his ailing sister, Lelouch had been filled with a nervous energy from the moment he'd heard she had arrived, and if he could be said to be sick with anything, it would be worry. Nunnally in this place? But it was far milder than their world in many ways, cushioned as they normally were by the Initiative and their geographic separation from the UE. That was easy enough to rationalize, of course, but from a practical standpoint, there was nothing in the world that could stop Lelouch from worrying about his sister.

She must be scared. Alone. Lost. C.C. may have had made contact with her, but how was she really doing, here, on her own? At least on their world Suzaku and the rest of her royal entourage had kept her company; here she was entirely on her own.

That was more or less the case Lelouch had made for himself to drop everything and rush to her side, at any rate, and since as he had told C.C. there was literally no reason whatsoever to keep himself from making contact with her on this world (no royal spies to track him, no one to realize he'd regained his memories, no Emperor), well, drop everything and rush to her side was damn well what he was going to do.

The scant floors that separated from her were easily conquered, from that perspective, even if he did take the elevator rather than the stairs, and before too long, he found himself outside of her apartment, rapping his knuckles smartly on the door and hoping the sound would carry. With any luck, his sister would actually be present to answer the summons. God only knew how long it would take him to track her down if she weren't home.

Although it could very well have been someone other than Nunnally answering the door, Lelouch was instantly relieved the moment it swung open, and he straightened reflexively, eyes searching around wheelchair height for his sister. The figure that stood beyond the threshold was considerably taller than that, though, and he quickly adjusted his gaze, meeting... lavender eyes?

"Nunnally?" he breathed, hardly daring to believe it. Nunnally, standing on her own two feet? The opened eyes he'd been at least partially prepared for, given C.C.'s parting remarks, but to see Nunnally fully upright again was something he'd only ever dreamed of. The doctors had told him that her legs were damaged beyond repair, so how had she managed this? Had there been some technological advancement between his time and hers? How much further along in their world's timeline was she?

Whatever questions he had at seeing her were quickly drowned out by his relief at seeing her at all, though, and he summoned up a warm smile for her, dropping to one knee almost entirely by reflex. That left her taller than him rather than at eye level, but surely just this once it wouldn't matter. "I'm here. I'm not going anywhere."

The sudden movement prompted a small laugh, and the sound was just as quickly cut off again as Lelouch returned the gesture, his face hidden against her hair. Nunnally didn't seem nearly as breakable now as she had the last time he'd seen her, but he was still careful with her as he held her, the dam holding back his emotions already threatening to break. Just a few seconds of seeing her and nothing more than a hug and he was already moments away from-- from something, he wasn't sure what, how pathetic. He couldn't help but remember their most recent interactions, though, that awful phone call and the failed attempt to rescue her in particular, and with those weighing on his mind...

He allowed himself the grace of tightening his hold just a little bit more, his eyes closing. The last thing he wanted to do was upset her. He had to keep himself in check until this was over.

"I missed you, too," he responded, voice as even as he could make it. It had been a year. A year. The only other time or reason why they'd been separated for that long was because Nunnally hadn't been born yet, and that didn't count. "It's been too long."

It more than felt like it, but far be it from Lelouch to correct his little sister when that wasn't the issue at stake right now. Besides, he still had no idea when Nunnally had seen him last; for all he knew, the two of them had been spending time together directly before she'd been taken. It was a heartening thought.

The small sniffle soon distracted him from these thoughts, though, and immediately concerned, he pulled away just enough to properly examine her, one hand lifting to gently feel her forehead. "A cold? Or is it something else? What symptoms do you have?" The chances of his little sister being afflicted with some deadly mutant strain unique to this world were slim (probably), but he could hardly stop himself from breaking a lifetime habit. Taking care of Nunnally was second nature to him now, and letting this illness go untreated was unthinkable.

He carefully unwrapped himself from her and straightened, attempting to turn her back to the door and herd her inside and chiding himself all the while. He shouldn't have let himself get so distracted. "Let's get you back in bed," he said, apparently only just noticing the blanket. Definitely distracted. "Would you like me to prepare some tea for you? Does your apartment even have any tea?" His own did, but it was far too late now to charge back up to it and fetch some. Damn this was inconvenient. "I'll put in a request with the Initiative to have us roomed together as soon as possible."
