open log » ❝ mission : assyrian village ❞
Date & Time: 115 CE
Location: A small Assyrian village.
Characters: Everyone.
Summary: All transports are successfully ported back in time to Mesopotamia, where they are fighting an onslaught of Roman soldiers whose intent is to conquer and overtake an Assyrian village. Transports are to help protect this village from the invading Roman military.
Warnings: Violence, war.
When the Transports arrive in Assyria, they are likely to experience several minutes of nausea and disorientation. Once they take in their surroundings, they find themselves amidst rolling plains. It is spring, and the hills are green from the seasonal rains. Irrigation ditches and small rivers cut through the land, flowing with water. When the summer comes, the areas not closely adjacent to these sources of water will become dry and arid, but right now the land is covered with small crops along with flowers, clover, and a scattering of small trees. Higher hills can be seen in the distance.
The sky is grey with gathering clouds, and the air feels warm and humid, with only a slight wind. Before long, it begins raining, causing the wet ground to turn to clay-like mud that clings to one's feet.
The village itself is composed of small buildings made of adobe bricks, built on a hillside. A wall surrounds the settlement. The Transports are able to make their way into the village without problem, as the cloaking devices makes them appear as Assyrian villagers themselves.
The Major-General leads them into the village so that they may assume a defensive position before the Romans arrive. If one chose to explore, they would find that the village was primarily agricultural, with little weapons to be found, but many farming tools that could be implemented as such. If any who possess superhuman abilities attempt to utilize those powers extensively, they will discover that they become exhausted quite quickly. However, there is little time to explore, as it is only thirty minutes after their initial arrival that the Romans can be seen approaching over a nearby hill.
