Erza walks in as though it were her own room, carrying what appears to be a heart shaped box. While Erza didn't really have anyone to celebrate with on a romantic level she had plenty of friends whom she loved. What better day was there than today to show them she cared?

Startling a bit when she heard Erza's voice, Lucy had long since given up fussing when her companions just made themselves at home. At least Erza used the DOOR. "Happy Valentine's Day, Erza." Lucy greeted with a warm grin.

"... yeah, I kind of do... but still..." She pushed her chair back with a sigh. "I wish I had someone to spend it with. Not that I don't love spending time with you and Natsu, of course, but ... you know." She never was going to meet That Special Guy(tm).

"Happy Valentine's Day, Lucy."

Erza offers Lucy a sympathetic smile; she could empathize with Lucy in her own way.

"I understand your feelings on that subject."

She set the box on the counter and gave Lucy a knowing grin.

"Though I suspected you to spend it with you-know-who after your 'special kiss'."

Erza was of course only teasing Lucy about her accidental kiss with her best friend. The redhead had no way of knowing that Natsu hadn't revealed this information to Lucy.

Getting to her feet, Lucy smiled, "I have something for yo-" She stopped short of walking to the kitchen, turning to stare at her friend.

"... what? WHA - WHAT?" Her voice maay have been a little more shrill than she'd intended, there. "What are - what are you talking about? What special kiss? With WHO?"

Ohoho trying to play dumb won't work.

"Come now Lucy, you don't have to be so embarrassed about it."

Erza leaned back against the kitchen counter, folding her arms over her breastplate.

"Even if it was Natsu, I'm sure it wasn't all that terrible."

She isn't playing dumb! She really didn't have a clue what you were getting at, Erza! IN fact she stared curiously at her friend, a slight frown starting to play across her face.

"Embarrassed-- I...."

WELL. Erza's revelation was ... a shocker to say the least. Enough of a shocker that all sense of writing had flown out the window. In fact, her thoughts were completely taken up with what she'd been told, to the point where she flat out was working herself into a stupor. Ogawd. Ogawdogawd. Ogawdogawdogawd. Okay, Okay Luce - there was a legitimate reason he didn't mention it to you right? RIGHT. Just. Be cool - be calm and .... and talk to him about it. It was a simple misunderstanding - or something. Not your fault but ohgod. "Ohgod." Lucy muttered to herself. How embarrassing.

It wasn't like he wanted to deceive her or anything. But after the thing with her dad got sorted out, the idea to tell her about the night of the party sorta kinda flew right out the window. He was far more happy to just get to spend time with Lucy again without the grim guilotine of guilt hovering over his neck.

He'd wrapped up his training early today, after feeling he'd made a slight step of progress in the right direction when he swore he saw flames in the eye sockets of the dragon in his gauntlets. But it faded away right away after. Either way, Natsu was sure he was on to something so naturally first thing he would do is go to Lucy's place.

And he arrived just in time to see her pacing about in the living room. He sat there, perched on the window, watching her curiously before he tilted his head to the side with a puzzled frown and spoke up.

"Lucy? You okay?"

At least she wasn't pacing in a circle, but she still would have worn a tread in the floor if she'd kept it up. She had her back to the window when Natsu announced himself, and she was so lost in thought that she actually leapt a foot before turning to see her friend. "A-ah! N... Natsu!" Uh. UH. Oh she is not ready for this quick go away and come back in a few millenia.

"I'm... I-I'm fine!" HA hA HA HA SEE HOW FINE SHE IS. "Um.." NNNNooooooooooooo she really doesn't know how to approach this topic. "Will you come inside already!? You're making me nervous perching like that --" No, Lucy, you're making yourself nervous.

Lucy was usually a weirdo alright but her current state was in a league of its own in terms of weirdness. His head turned even more to the side as he watched her, trying to pick up on any potential body language hints as to what was bothering her. He knew she probably wouldn't part with the answers all too quickly when this jittery after all. Though the more his head turned to the side the more he resembled a pink haired owl.

"I am? Why? I always show up like this?" And that was not just a figure of speech in this case.

"Because --!" ... he had a point. But the more she looks at Natsu, the more she's reminded of what Erza told her, until she glanced away, flustered and rosy cheeked. CALM. DOWN. Damn girl. "Just - get inside already! I...uh.. I.." Fgh. OH HEY that's a fascinating spot on the wall - was it always that discolored? Stop thinking about it and just calm down! "There's something ...I - well, that is... Erza -" Words, how do they work?

Poor Natsu looked so confused too. Like a cute pink ow-- No, wait. Looking at him is not helping, focus on something else.

Yep definitely weird. But something told him nothing would get sorted if he kept questioning things from the window. Maybe getting closer would help.

"Okay okay sheesh." Natsu said and hopped off and into the room. But before he could draw closer that name came up.

"Erza? What did she do? Did she tell you we're starting that serious life and death training at LAST?!" Because he was pretty sure some sparring/training with Erza would solidify his progression even more especially after that small development today.

OH GOOD GOD SHE HOPED NOT. It might be okay for Erza and Natsu, but Lucy wasn't sure she could handle Erza's idea of training. She shifted restlessly, the thought momentarily distracting her from the real issue. "Uh --w...well ... that... that isn't...exactly what we talked about."

"It was..." Pick your words carefully, Lucy. She just barely resisted the urge to pace nervously again, crossing her arms and looking down. Down is good. Down is safe. Or at least safer than looking at Natsu for the moment. Ergh. "A...a-about... the party a few months ago." God in heaven stop BLUSHING.

Honestly she made a habit of selling herself off way too short. She took one of his iron fists of the flame dragon just fine. And a few times even lifted him up from almost falling down a potentially harmful pit. Those weren't the feats of a weakling. But that could wait.

His confusion only grew, having completely locked away all memory of the kiss.

"O-kaaaay. What about it?" Though why was he getting that feeling in his guy he shouldn't have asked that.

She did at that. But it was an issue she was far from contemplating at the moment, because she was getting steadily closer to that elephant in the room. She shifted a glance towards Natsu a few times. WHY ARE YOU TORTURING her Natsu, you know what happened. Making her say it is just MEAN. Is this just another form of trolling? Such a cruel best friend. So unthinkably cruel!

"W..ww..w..well - s..she ah..." Stammer stammer stammer. It may have just increased tenfold at this point, "She ... she said." SPIT IT OUT WOMAN. Lucy cleared her throat, . "S..she -she said I..." Oh yeah, breathing was also good. A hand reached up to run through her hair anxiously, "She said I..um...k-k-kissed you." Good thing Natsu had great hearing, since that last part was muffled from behind her hands. She just didn't know where to put her hands okay okay.

He was not an elephant. He was a dragon dangnabbit. But then it really didn't matter given the current situation. As for torturing her, that for once. was not his goal at all.

Goodness she was stammering a lot. He was almost tempted to stop her if it was that hard to get the words out. Unfortunately that was far too late as her answer escaped into the room and reached his right now annoyingly sharp hearing.

The color seemed to drain from his face before returning with the a full flush that threatened to capture the entirety of his face.

"O-Oh....she told you about that." Oh dear Lucy was mad with him wasn't she? Though that didn't really match given her stammering stuttering state.

Semantics! Dragon, Elephant, it was all the sameonlynot. Oh gosh the look on his face too - did it bother him that much? Well - why wouldn't it? They were friends - nakama. Friends just don't... "Y-Y, yeah." She glanced away, uneasily. She couldn't tell who was blushing more right now, him, or herself. But her face felt pretty darn warm.

"She... she did." And sure, she made him promise not to lie to her - but he never really LIED about it, he just... didn't tell her. And she didn't really ask so... she took a small step forward, forcing herself to look--- no, that was a total fail. "So I... I... wanted to apologize." She even bows, both as a gesture of sincerity, and because it is SO MUCH easier to look at her feet than to look at Natsu when her brain felt like a hamster running on a hamster wheel right now.

Okay why the hell was his face feeling so damn hot anyway. Natsu couldn't answer that question no matter how much he tried but now that he knew she had been informed of that night, his attention was fully focused on Lucy.

"W-Wait? Apologize? But why?" Despite how awkward he was feeling he still didn't see any need for her to apologize to the extent of BOWING to him. She'd just been drunk after all.

The bowing may have been highly unnecessary, but she was using it anyway so she didn't have to look at him - not until she felt she could control the level of her blush. Which...may be never at this rate.

Wait what? Straightening cautiously, she stared at her friend, incredulous. "What do you mean, why...?" Wasn't it obvious? It had to be some kind of taboo or something right? Or...was she blowing this all out of proportion...just like last time she thought Natsu might have feelings for her?

She had a knack at blowing things way out of proportion. Natsu knew that better than most thanks to all the time he spent with his partner. Most of the time it was pretty fun to poke at that side of her personality but this time he was quite honestly baffled.

"I mean why. It's not like it felt bad or anything." In fact if she could read his mind she would see a lot of him thinking that it actually kinda felt nice. Soft and warm and a lot like her....wait why was his mind going on that tangennt NOW. Cancel that. Good thing she couldn't read his mind.

Very good thing, yes. But his response made her blush more all the same. "....it..." Did he really just say that? Oh god who set her face on fire? She placed her hands against her cheeks as if to make sure it really /wasn't/ on fire, Wait wait wait I... I gave Natsu my first kiss and - OH god I gave Natsu my first kiss? But I was drunk - it doesn't count, right?

"It ... didn't?"

...and I can't remember it at all. ...I wonder what... - Oh god Lucy don't even finish that train of thought. Just. Don't.

It looked on fire alright. Natsu could've sworn he could almost see steam coming from her ears though damned if he could figure out why that was the case. It had been just a kiss on the cheek. He'd seen plenty of those go on between Mira and Elfman and Lisanna.

Though he did have to admit Lucy's kiss had a sturdier place in his memory. Maybe just because he felt that first hand.

"No. It really didn't. Other than the whole stink of alcohol." Someone had to teach him that too much honesty could be a bad thing.

YES well that's wherein lies the little... whatever...to this... situation. Lucy assumed she didn't just kiss Natsu on the cheek, but ... well.. on the lips. Which is what kicked her imagination into overdrive. And now with Natsu admitting it wasn't HORRIBLE, she couldn't shake the surprisingly tenacious thought, wondering what it was like to kiss her best friend.

She didn't think she could get any more red, but lo, there it was, slowly reaching Erza Scarlet levels of ..scarlet. Though she blushed for an entirely different reason at mention of the stink of alcohol. Well. EXCUSE Her for being drunk!... wait, is that really something she should take offense to? She turned away nonetheless, "Oh-" Falling silent for several minutes, torn between being annoyed, flattered and embarrassed.

It finally translated to just more awkwardness. "Um... Oh ...that's right, I have something for you." Although she wasn't sure she wanted to give it to him now, with the revelation and everything. But she'd told Erza and Erza would tell Natsu and Natsu would come back and pester her if she didn't. Worse, he might be hurt if she held out on him. So that in mind, she stumbled towards the kitchen - (stumbled, because in her distraction she walked into the wall, rather than through the doorway), fetching a small, rectangular box of chocolates.

Which she presented to Natsu, somewhat shakily, "... Happy Valentine's Day." It's.... just because they're friends though. She got one for Erza too. It didn't have to only be a day for ... uh...well. Damnit she can't get that thought out of her head. ... ... ... This was going to bug her all day. She really kinda wanted to know...

And from the way things were progressing, it wouldn't be sorted out any time soon. He'd seen plenty of kissing on the lips over the years in the guild, members that have come and gone sometimes would fall in that kind of relationship but he was too focused on fighting and getting stronger.

At least until Lucy joined. Now don't get him wrong, he didn't suddenly take an interest in romance or relationships and the rituals they sometimes involved. But he was interested in knowing more about her. He never paused to really wonder why and instead just jumped headfirst. The reaction she would give if he was to ever voice those thoughts of his.

As for that line about the stink, well he couldn't help it. Dragon Slayer sense of smell after all. Besides it wasn't like Lucy got drunk often. She was no Cana.

Natsu watched Lucy's reaction shift between varied emotions settling once again for that awkward stutter. He flinched as she hit the wall but didn't get a chance to check on her before she went through the door only to come back with a box. He'd seen some similarly colored boxes being exchanged all day and he could smell the chocolate within. It had a slight different flavor compared to the other chocolates he'd been forced to sniff over the day.

"Eh? This is for me? Really?" It was hard to hide the surprise on Natsu's face but he did take the chocolate from her and eyed it curiously. The scent was stronger now and it was actually making his mouth water a bit.

Never ever ever. Or maybe at some point, in which case Lucy would just want to DIE.

She grinned at the look of surprise on Natsu's face when she handed the box over, giggling quietly. He was adorable when he was like that. ... damnit Natsu stop looking adorable it is NOT helping to squelch her curiosity.

She shifted her weight a little, twiddling her fingers a bit and looking to the side. Yeah, just... don't look at his face... or his eyes... or his lips --damnit LUcy get a hold of yourself, stop thinking weird things. "Yeah, of course..!"

She glanced at Natsu briefly, and then away again. Think about something else, Lucy. For the love of Mavis, think about something else!

It'd be a while undoubtedly.

Natsu never strived to be adorable or cute. So if it happened she could be assured it wasn't intentional. He brought the box up to his nose and took a few deep whiffs. The scent was definitely just as good as he imagined it to be.

"So if it's mine does tha tmean I can eat it right now?" Because yum. Chocolate and guaranteed yum because it was Lucy's hands that made it all.

Lucy nodded quickly, pleased to see Natsu happy with the gift. "S-sure, of course." She swallowed nervously, with the effort of keeping her thoughts from wandering back to Natsu's face.

...

STOP THINKING ABOUT IT. Okay no, really, Lucy, stop. Only telling yourself to stop was only making you think about it more. ... "..."

Y..yeah. She must be out of her mind, contemplating these things.

"Awesome" with that Natsu invited himself to her couch sitting merrily on the armwrest as he tore the wrapping off the box to get to the tasty treat within. He did notice that Lucy seemed to be looking at him a a bit more closely than usual but he has more pressing matters to attend to instead of pointing out that she was nowhere near as covert as he would have liked

Hey she is The MOST covert. No really. Stop laughing!

Watching Natsu perch on the armrest of the couch, she chewed her lower lip absently. Okay. Okay. This was wrong and ridiculous - it was levels of insane that needed entirely new words to define how ridiculousit was. LIke. Ridonkulous. Ridong.

"S-so... is... is it good?" Well it oughta be, she spent quite a whle on those chocolates for him and Erza? ... As she took a small step towards the couch. Lucy you craycray. Seek help.

Suuure she is.

Those words were damn funny and Natsu would be the first to point that out if she'd ever mention them. As he were now though he was too busy popping a piece of the chocolate in his mouth.

"Course it is. It even has a faint spicy kick to it. I love it!" And that was saying something since he was not really that big of a sweet tooth.

She knew his tastes by now. Though getting the balance of spice in there enough without it coming out...gross, or the sweetness overpowering it was tricky.

She grinned at the answer though, pleased. "I'm glad." ... ... ... Lucy, no. NO. Stoppit. "H... hey, Natsu? I... uh..." What are you DOINg, Lucy. "C.. could you do something for me...? Just.... for a second?"

Natsu was in the middle of chewing on the second piece when Lucy spoke up again. There it was again. That sutter. He thought that thte confirmation that the chocolate was good would be enough to settle her anxiety. Seemed he was wrong.

"Um sure. What is it?" Hey if it helped calm her down it would be a small price to pay, right? Right!

She... cannot believe she's about to do this. But she can't ... she just /can't/ even think about it when he was looking at her. It made the butterflies in her stomach spazz out. Though GOD why was she even nervous, it was just Natsu?

"Ah--c.... close your eyes...?" She's not going to play a prank. Although she IS going to give him a surprise. Aaa, what am I doing...???

Natsu wouldn't believe it either if he knew what was coming. But as things stood at the moment he had no idea of what Lucy could possibly want from him. Closing his eyes was nothing at all. It was definitely no fighting, no running around abusing superhuman powers.

"Close my eyes. Well okay." He trusted LUcy after all. SHe woulnd't play a too nasty of a trick on him after all.

Don't breathe, don't breathe -- no wait, breathe, breathe! Don't PANIC. Don't freak out. Natsu closed his eyes so easily, so trusting. She could do anything she wanted! She could doodle on his face! Or shove him over! Or snatch his chocolates away... or .. or...

...

Or step closer, staring at Natsu for a second - which really isnt' a good idea. Just.. Just take the plunge Lucy. Do it before you lose your nerve! She reached over, resting a hand against his shoulder, leaning over tentatively, the flush coming back to her cheeks.

This was madness. Utter, utter madness. But she edged closer little by little until she mentally kicked herself to stop thinking about it - thus she closed the rest of the distance, lips brushing against his lightly at first, resisting the urge to balk, until her hand tightened on his shoulder briefly as she kissed him more firmly. THERE. Now she can stop freaking about it and wondering what it would be like, right? It was just a plain old kiss. No different from any other.

She was certainly taking her time. Though now that his eyes were closed, all his other senses sharpened just a notch. That's why he probably felt her warmth come closer to him more. Surely that was the reason why. Still he kept his eyes closed not wanting to break his promise to her.

Natsu's ears picked up her steps notinghow they sounded a little more uncertain than usual. Okay so she was coming closer. Okay now her hand was on his shoulder...aaand she was pushing on it a bit but not to shove him away so leaning. And now then there was warmth coming closer to his face. Okay things were starting to jam the gears in his head. What was Lu-

And then those gears were blown clear out as he felt a pair of something, soft warm and curious...those...those were lips?! L-L-L-Lucy's lips!!? On his. WAIT WHAT?!

The door opened as Erza returned.

"Lucy I forgot-"

The box of chocolates she'd left in the room was now the furthest thought from her mind. She stared blankly at the scene in front of her.

Lucy. Natsu. Lucy and Natsu!

Erza realized that she was staring and quickly became flustered. Whatever they were doing it was none of her business. NONE. She waved her hands at the pair, hurriedly dismissing what she had just seen.

"Ah! So-Sorry! I didn't mean to interrupt! Pl-Please continue!"

Please continue? What was she saying? To hell with it, she'd come back for her chocolates later. Hanging her head in shame, Erza beats a hasty retreat from the room.

... ...

Oh. Damn.

She miscalculated.

She hadn't anticipated ...well she'd anticipated Natsu's shock all right, and she was a touch worried about his reaction afterwards. It was really selfish of her to do this, after all! But up close, even not looking at him she could still picture him- and the warmth he always gave off, and the feel of his lips - she could just--

...

just have a damn HEART attack at the sound of the door opening. Her eyes flew open and she jerked back with a surprised gasp, her face immediately turning scarlet, staring at Erza as her brain madly worked to catch up with the words being said. Wait. ERZA.

CRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAP.

"E.. ERza! Wa-wait a second it... it's not what it looks like!"

Lucy, maybe you might want to move away from Natsu when you say that. It's more believable. Though she did jerk her hand away from his shoulder as if she'd been burned, the entirety of her focus on the redhead about to leave. N.. NO cOME BACK, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. ;o;

Natsu's reaction was slightly more sluggish than Lucy's. She was worried about his reaction afterward? As if he could give one right on the spot. That press of her lips had triggered reactions in his mind and body that were almost completely alien. Not to mention how outlandish the act on its own was. Lucy...had kissed him full on the lips...on the lips... Not on the cheek like some friends did. No this was full on the lips. This...oh hey that name finally reaches his ears. And immediately he's taken from that place of confusion mixed with bliss into the cold hard reality of the moment. Almost as cold as the steel he could already feel pressing against his throat in the future once Erza concluded he had taken advantage of Lucy...or worse that he really had not told her about the incident that night.

But then that was nothing compared to this mess. Oh right he should really open his eyes right about now.

"E-E-Erza!" Oh dear. He's just going to make a dash for the window now because hello selfpreservation instincts kicking in HARD. Too many variables and unknowns and the threat of immediate bodily harm. He'll have to face Lucy sure...but NOT NOW. Not while his head is still reeling from what just transpired.

"Erza -!" Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand she's gone.

"Natsu -?" Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand he's gone.

... well what's a girl supposed to take away from that? She understood Erza's embarrassment of course, and even Natsu's to a degree. Though ... she'd have to admit, she'd never sent a guy fleeing from the room like that before.

At least he didn't scream on his way out. That wasn't because of her, right? Nah, couldn't be. Lucy huffed a bit ... but y'know, she...might be glad for the interruption. She wasn't sure what would have happened if that door had been locked!

Good job Lucy! Your curiosity successfully caused two of your dearest friends to run (screaming figuratively) out of the room. Well FINE. FIIIIIINE. She just... SHUT the window, closed the door and retreated to her own room to read, darnit. Knowing Natsu, he'd forget all about it (only not), and Erza - well she'd clear things up later.
