I want you to live

Date & Time: Backdated to during the Negativity event, so earlier in Feb, late night/early ridiculous o clock in the morning
Location:
Characters: Hisoka Kurosaki and Tsuzuki Asato
Summary: Hisoka has a nightmare, remembering the events in Kyoto before he and Tsuzuki were pulled to Exsilium.
Warnings: Mentions of suicide/suicidal thoughts, which might be triggering for some people.

Hisoka was asleep, not far from Tsuzuki's side throughout the last few days, given his empathy left him rather on edge and exhausted with everyone around feeling badly, angry, jealous, upset. He felt it just as keenly, and at least Tsuzuki was able to sympathize and let Hisoka have some quiet and a place to retreat to when things got a bit much. He was trying his best not to lash out, but it was a very close thing more than once. The only times he got a break was when he was asleep, like now. Except it was not much of a break this time. Not when he was remembering Kyoto, when he finally fought Oriya and made his way with the keycards to rescue his partner only to find Tsuzuki trying to burn the place down with his shikigami, Touda. He remembered that desperation, that utter despair and acceptance from Tsuzuki, his own denial at such feelings from his partner. However much Tatsumi had wanted to respect Tsuzuki's wishes, Hisoka couldn't. Not this time. He still had moments of second guessing, wondering if part of Tsuzuki might hate him for that. But he had made his choice, to act on his own emotions, his own desperation not to lose his partner after they had already been through so much together. Hisoka had barely realized just how much Tsuzuki had come to really mean to him until then, having someone that cared about him that much, someone who was just always there. He couldn't let that go so easily, not without trying to talk Tsuzuki out of this. Even if the flames hurt, even if they were hot enough to burn and kill a shinigami.

It had all happened recently enough to still weigh on his mind, and recent events only reinforced the bad dreams and negative emotions to impact on the empath. He woke with a start at the memory of the building starting to collapse, sitting up and bringing a hand to wipe some hair from his face. It probably would not be the first time he would have that nightmare, but it was the first time it had happened since the night in question back home.
