Date & Time: Some time during the day and backdated to about when Juvia arrives.
Location: Training area
Characters: Juvia and Kratos
Summary: Juvia is training with Kratos so he can teach her to master her weapon better.
Warnings:Juvia None.
[When Juvia first arrived in Exsilium she was worried for her and her guildmates (namely Gray), but the longer she stayed the more she felt grateful for all the kind people around. One was even willing to help her out and train her better into using her dagger. Krastos was his name, she thinks.
A day or so after her conversation with the man she walked over to the initial training arena, her dirk held close to her, looking around. He...was here right? He wasn't messing around with her, was he?
......]
Hello?
[She raised her voice as she spoke]

After doing so for a while and snapping the dagger an annoyingly high number of times, a break appeared in order. The man stilled in his movements, allowed the dagger to dissipate into thin air and casually glanced around. Oh huh, that was Juvia over there, wasn't it. Perfect timing. Kratos made his way towards her, a small nod of greeting getting sent her way once close enough.]
Juvia.

Mr. Kratos! Juvia has to thank you for taking her in as a trainer.
[It was a good distraction from....other things]

Not at all.
[He's honestly glad to help. The more people who can fight during a war the better.]
Are you ready to begin?

She nods and moves the dagger in position, leaning her arm back as she leans her body forward.
...This was correct, right? Maybe?]
Juvia is ready now.

Good.
[Unfortunately, fighting will not happen anytime soon. Not even working an footing is going to happen right now. Starting from the basics is key to acquiring a good, strong fighting style.]
We will start by working on your grip. A weak or improper grip can lead to either easily being disarmed or self injury.
[Not that hers is bad, but it's just not entirely proper.]
Shift your hand so it rests right below the hilt like so. Wrap your fingers around the handle so that the thumb is wrapped around the handle and in contact with the forefinger.
[Kratos demonstrates with his own dagger, holding it out for her to see.]
This is the basic hold for a dagger, commonly called the forward or hammer grip.

Yesh.
It was times like these she wished she had the skills of sword fighting like Erza had and jolting her hands up in front of her, she shakes he head]
Ah....Juvia doesn't think she's getting it all too well, Mr. Kratos. How long does it usual take?!

Learning takes different amounts of time for different people. How long it takes matters little compared to the eventual outcome.
[Though praise does tend to help a bit. Giving praise when it's not deserved isn't about to happen, but she had done something worthy of it a moment ago.]
If it's any consolation, you almost had it that last time.
[Not quite and clearly with a few flaws, but still on the right track. Progress is progress not matter how small.]

She had to do this for Gray and to make him proud of her. Concentrate Juvia!
Taking the dagger in her hand once more, she makes another attempt to hold it better, possibly waiting for more criticism]
Like this? Is Juvia holding it any better?
