Date & Time: 5th April, evening
Location: Disciple's apartment
Characters: Disciple, Helmsman and Nepeta
Summary: Disciple wants to introduce her descendant to her best-friend-who-doesn't-remember-he-is.
Warnings: None, I think!
"I'm really glad you said you'd meet her!" Di babbles at the Helmsman, clearly excited and a bit nervous over the meeting which was about to take place. When he'd been going to meet Sollux she'd been more worried about how the younger yellowblood would act, but with Nepeta at least she felt reassured that she'd be kind and friendly towards the Helmsman.
She just hopes it won't be too awkward. When she'd first told her descendant about her dear friend and what had been done to him she'd done her best to explain how he was now, and not to expect so very much in the way of friendliness perhaps. That his appearance would scare her is another concern, but then again Disciple has such a high opinion of her young descendant that she feels sure she'll rise to the occasion.
All she wants is for them to get along, and that maybe Psii, what little or a lot remained of him inside the Helmsman, would see how proud she is of Nepeta, and how much it means to Disciple for him to get to know her.

Her descendant settled comfortably, she sets about fetching them all snacks to eat - though she knows it's probably pointless in the Helmsman's case. "We're doing fine, or I am, at least. I'm sure Helmsman can answer for himself." Probably in the form of a percentage, she thinks.
She sighs, and continues, "What about you, Nepeta? Have you been well?"

"User Nepeta added to databankth. System ith operating at forty-three percent." Just as expected, he gave a percentage. He really has nothing to say beyond that, and hovers in the corner, certain that Disciple will keep the conversation going.

"I've been okay. I've been working at the clinic more and more so it's nice to have something to keep me busy. It's really easy to feel idle or restless in this place and that can get so furrstrating." Which was about the understatement of the century. She'd recently come to know that you could go on private missions, like Feferi had done that had been on her mind a while.

"Oh, I know what you mean. Working at the clinic seems like a good way to help out and keep busy at the same time, though! I wish I could think of something like that for myself..." Food now laid out, she takes a seat herself. "We can always go hunting again too if you'd like!"
I'm really sorry he's being such a turd, Nepeta-mun
haha the poor guy is doing fine, no apologies needed <3
Nepeta takes her place at the table, relaxing a little. "We could always use more hands over there. At the clinic, I mean. Or maybe we could see if something could be done to better the Outlands. I was talking to Equius about it the other day and it doesn't really seem like the Initiative has much time to do anything about it, but maybe we could plan some trees or something?"
Nepeta wasn't actually sure if there really was much they could do about it in its current state, but hey it could hurt to do a little research, could it?
NO HE DEFINITELY N33DS TO BE APAWLOGIZING DDX
Di does give him a smile when he joins them, though, starting to serve out some tea for all of them. Yes, him too, and while she allows Nepeta to chose her own method of sweetening it from the choices on the table, she goes ahead and adds a nice big dollop of honey to the Helmsman's tea.
"I wouldn't mind giving a hand there, but I don't know much about healing. Not long-term healing, at least. Only quick and ready measures for when nothing else is really available. Though trying to reclaim a little bit of the Outlands might be something I'm better at! We'd have to test the soil - do you think you could give a hand with something like that, Helmsman?"
WHY SHOULD HE APOLOGIZE, DI, HE'S JUST ACTING LIKE A COMPUTER, GOSH!
"System can help." All they need to do is tell him what they want done, and he'll do it. He'll actually be very helpful for planting trees; psionics are great for digging holes.
DONT MAKE ME HAVE TO c3< YOU TWO NOW
"I'm sure if we told the Initiative about our idea, even if they wouldn't help us themselves, purrhaps they could at least purrvide us with some necessary supplies." At least she hoped they would do that, it would be their land they'd be restoring after all.
Psii--or Helmsman, she really had no idea how to refer to him had a good point though. None of that would really matter if the soil itself was not fertile so that would probably be the first thing they'd need to check.
BUT HE ISN'T ONE. and no nep this is just how they show they care...
If it's something that might interest him at all, now she's bound to continue with it.
"They might! We could ask around as well, on the network maybe, see if anyone else would want to help out!"
YES HE IS SHUT UP... and yeah, this is just how they relate to each other

She gets to adding a healthy dosage of creme and sugar to her cup, chatting away.
"I'll be sure to ask around soon then. It'd be fun to work on it together. Maybe once the land start looking better we can even see about preserving some animals." The idea of locking creatures up wasn't one she was crazy about but really...with the way things were looking they would likely die out without some outside help.

...no. No, she must remain calm. And serious.
She sighs, and turns her attention back to what Nepeta is saying.
"We could. And I know there are some people who want to remain here. Doing something like this to make it a better place to live in would have to interest them, don't you think?"
feel free to skip him for a few turns; he'll respond to any direct questions
\o
But it was best not to get ahead of themselves. This was a mighty big project and she wasn't really sure just what all they would have to do. If it was simple she'd certain this area would be looking a lot better than it was right now.
"So if there aren't any others going on, ask the Initiative fur supplies and. If the soil isn't good what can we do to make it better?" Nepeta had never really had to worry like something like that before, it went way beyond the rudimentary gardening she had done on Alternia.
