Summary: Suzaku shows up at Lelouch's place because FRIENDSHIP
Warnings: Probably nothing.

[ Even if the housing unit that the Initiative has formed for all of their Transports is as large as it is, the longer time goes on the less likely it is that Lelouch will continue being able to slip by unnoticed by all the people from his world that have also been brought here. Needless to say after almost two weeks of being here, and having spotted a familiar face around more than once Suzaku's managed to pinpoint the apartment that he's almost positive Lelouch is staying in. He's not sure if his friend just hadn't noticed him, or heard him when Suzaku tried to get his attention in the crowded streets, or if Suzaku is wrong about all of this and it's just some guy that looks like Leouch to an almost unfortunate degree, but right now he knocks on the door he's really hoping it's not the second.

This is going to be a really bizarre conversation if it is... ]

[ No... Lelouch you can't be his mom. That's weird, bro.

He's made his point at least, but he shouldn't get too excited yet. It'll take a lot more than getting Suzaku to admit that asking "pretty please" probably won't get the results he wants to see for Suzaku to actively agree to the some of the methods Lelouch might use.

And there's definitely no sternness on his face now. ]

I'm sure most of what we'll hear will be things that people have already tried, but it should be worth it to find out what has and hasn't been done.

[Lelouch knows Suzaku is a stubborn guy, but if he kept chipping away, it was possible to get them to work together legitimately this time. Suzaku wouldn't follow Zero, but if Zero wasn't here, it might be possible. He just had to be careful about how he went about this, so as not to arouse more suspicion.]

Probably, but it still might be worth a try. Reading what the have in the library might prove worthwhile, too.

[ Not an outright terrible plan, but Lelouch better not get his hopes up too much. Suzaku isn't someone who's mind is easily changed, and it'll take a hell of a lot of chipping and some compromising from Lelouch for them to reach a middle ground unless Lelouch wants to put him through the sort of hell he needs to in order to break Suzaku's beliefs.

Which honestly probably isn't the best plan of action.

He looks curious at the last comment Lelouch makes. ]

To see what sort of world's they've taken people from, or do you mean the books they have from this world?

[Lelouch is not really a hopeful kind of guy. He's all about the results, not about how he has to get there to achieve them. There's nothing optimistic about the way he thinks.

Lelouch nods.]

Both. Don't you think both would be worth researching?

[ No... there really isn't, is there? If you want a sort of oddly grim optimism and idealism then Suzaku's your man.

He shakes his head a little. Not that he's disagreeing or anything, but... ]

You're probably right about that, but maybe I should leave that one to you.

[Lelouch chuckles briefly.]

That's more research than one person can do alone. Are you not up for the challenge?

It's not so much that I'm not up for it as it is I'm not sure how much help I'll really be. But if you really want the help I can stop by every now and then and see what I can find in the books.

Really? I thought it would be more likely that you'd know what to look for with a military background. It's possible I might miss something important with an untrained eye.

[ Scratching his chin thoughtfully. ] You might be right about that, but I'm still only going to be so helpful if that's what you're hoping for. I might be in the military, but I'm just a soldier, it's not like I've really studied the strategy or history at length.

[ Leaning back now. ]

I think we'd be better off trying to find another Transport who has more of a background in this area. Besides, getting more help with this project can't hurt.

[Better get that chin scratching in while you can, Suzaku. One day you're going to impale your hand on it.

Lelouch doesn't trust the idea of another Transport being involved, not until he's observed them for long enough, at least. But he can't really voice such suspicions to Suzaku. Well, he always has the option to Geass whoever they choose while no one's looking.]

Hm, probably. [Lelouch leans his cheek against his hand, seeming thoughtful.] Did you have anyone in mind?

[ One day when he's canon updated and his chin is classified as a weapon.

Suzaku has to stop and think about this for a second, and sighs after several seconds of silence. ]

No one I can think of off the top of my head, but I haven't been here that long yet. It might be better if we just tried to ask around and see who would be interested.

[That should be his next sentient weapon.

Lelouch nods.]

That seems like the best choice.

[ Only if Lelouch changes his weapon to his extravagant hand gestures.

He's actually pulling out his tablet. Not turning it on now, but looking at it for sure. ]

Something over the network sometime maybe?

[ Though the Initiative would be able to see that. ]

[He never will and you know this.

Lelouch glances at the tablet, and he's of a similar train of thought. But he can't be that outright suspicious as a civilian.]

Mm, if you think it's a good idea.

Suzaku taps his fingers on it a few times as he debates this. ]

The Initiative should be able to see anything we put on it as well. It might be best to avoid that for the time being and try to find people and ask them for the help face to face.

[That's right, Suzaku. Come to the conclusions he wants you to without him actually having to voice his own thoughts on it. That works out nicely for him sometimes.]

Ah- you're right. That's a better idea after all.

[ Stop being a creep, Lelouch.

In fact Suzaku's going to give him a curious look for a second as he mulls this over. ]

Lelouch, are you really okay with this plan?

[ Since Suzaku could be wrong, but Lelouch hasn't sounded all that enthused about it for the past few minutes talking about how they'd try to find people to help research. ]

Hm? Why wouldn't I be? We need people who know what they're looking at, don't we?

[He looks thoughtful for a minute.]

It might be good to find someone we trust, though... Since it's war, it's possible there are spies too, right?

[ That was Suzaku's comment on the matter anyway, but he wasn't entirely sure Lelouch had really agreed. His last question sort of cleared up the "why" though.

Not an issue with the plan in general, just a concern about spies. It made sense, but... ]

Right... Unfortunately I don't know a lot of people here that well yet.

I'm the same... Should we wait to get someone else involved? What do you think would be best?

[ He's got to sit and consider this for a minute. ]

I'm not sure, actually.

[ A sigh. ]

Which I guess means for now I suggest we hold off until we have a better idea.

[He nods.]

Alright. Just let me know if the plan changes. Until then I'll try to gather what I can from what I'm reading.

Got it. If I find anyone that I think can help us out I'll be sure to introduce the two of you as soon as possible as well.

I guess until then we just have to hope we'll be able to spot something useful ourselves.
