oh tell me now is there any difference
Date & Time: sometime now-ish.
Location: the VR area!
Characters: green aliens with violence issues aka Thane & Gamora
Summary: The green aliens raised to kill things from a young age show, starring these folks.
Warnings: It seems likely violence type things will come up in the VR.
[ A virtual training environment seemed like the sort of thing that should be investigated more thoroughly. Much more thoroughly, in an attempt to ascertain whether or not it posed some kind of problem. He had yet to actually use it, instead circling the room and observing all he could of both it in action with any others using it and scanning various parts with his omnitool, attempting to determine if it will be dangerous before he does something as foolish as let himself try it.
So far he has found no discrepancies that would indicate it would be too dangerous to test, but nevertheless he is hanging back. It might be better to ask Shepard her opinion, first. She's been in one before, or similar. Then again, bringing her a problem that he has already found a solution for would be better. ]

[ She'd been watching him for a minute or so with her typical look of vague disinterest from the doorway - utterly unconcerned with the fact that she could be interrupting him. He should have expected it when he decided to take one of the only free VR rooms and not use it for its intended purpose.
But he wasn't Terran, and while it had taken her a moment or so for it to register why she'd found that even worth noting in the first place, it was almost enough to make her interested. And more than enough to make her wish for someplace that wasn't here. ]

At her words he shuts off his omni tool and turns neatly to look at her, considering. She looks very close to human, but she is not. Aliens here seem few and far between, but maybe. ] I am determining if it is dangerous, first.

[ As far as Gamora's concerned the omni-tool looked like he should at least be familiar with the concept of virtual reality, if not the thing in actuality. ]

You have used it before with no ill effects?

[ And believe her, she'd know. She pushes herself away from the frame and into the room itself - still obviously not bothered by the fact she's clearly interrupting him (and his possibly use of the room) at this point. ]

[ A half shrug - it's the closest he'll get to a yes from her for now. ]

[ Gamora moves to the center as well, sliding into a ready position - she knows what to expect from things it throws at her from her own memory, but random? Or someone else's? That'll be a challenge. ]

It will be mercenaries, I believe. Both human and other. I will take the catwalks.

Thought this one out?
[ She doesn't argue, though, and gives him a nod once the simulation has solidified before she moves forward. ]

[ How many warehouses or shipping yards has he fought his way through now? Shepard will likely find this amusing when he tells her, and he grabs a handhold and climbs upwards, finishes his set up as the first sounds of an enemy filter in.
The first one to appear in his sights finds a bullet in their head, and he reloads. ]

At least until she manages to sneak up behind him and slit his neck. It's not clean by any means, but it's effective and that's what counts. ]

Glancing down, he waits until he can catch her attention and gestures to her left, puts up three fingers. ]
no subject
After all, there's not point in exposing her location or herself to stray bullets when there's another option. Simulation it might be, but Gamora doesn't intend on being sloppy. ]
no subject
She is good, and skill is something he has always appreciated. ]

Ducking back down behind boxes, she gives Thane a nod as she's for the next round. ]
no subject
They are hers. A few more adventurous ones are nearer the climb up. Those are his. ]
no subject
But once she's finished with them she doesn't wait for his next command, considering that he'd be too occupied with those attempting to get to him. She does, however, need to lure the others out she at least knows where they're hiding.
Which may or may not involve exposing her location. ]
no subject
The crackle of biotics in the air smells something like spice as he turns his attention back to those closer, ducks down low to avoid a shot and takes his own in return. ]
no subject
Her eyes narrow, and if her take down of the next few mercenaries is noticeably more vicious, well. Consider it venting. ]

Her knife changes back into a sword as he nears - letting it fall back so the flat of the blade rests on her shoulder. Not that she needs him to back her up on what she can only assume is a larger number of them - she's faced more and ended up without a scratch in hand to hand. Taking them down with a sword? Easy.
So she doesn't even bother giving him a look that asks for a plan - just waits for the attack. ]
no subject
He is confident in his own ability to take them all down. Between the two of them? Given her performance so far, he thinks it will rather be a slaughter. ]
no subject
You're not half bad.
[ A rare compliment as she examines those he'd killed in the moments they have before another wave. ]
