[Lisbeth's sprinting up the stairs the moment they reopened the housing complex. Even though their floor hadn't been as damaged as the others, she still fears for her computer. Useless it might be, but it serves as more of a security blanket these days. Lisbeth is relieved when she finds it intact. Now, to begin the other part of her day. She has to meet Pepper tomorrow so Lisbeth figures she'll be busy all afternoon. Plus, with the housing unit open again, their new roommate was going to be here. That meant Lisbeth had to get all of her shit out of her room and into Jesse's. For a long time, they'd had separate rooms, taking turns every few nights to change rooms.

But the frequency of either sleeping alone in their rooms was dwindling. Even if Jesse was working late, Lisbeth would fall asleep in his room. So she decided to move into his room. Some of their clothes might get mixed up in their laundry though. Her pants got lost in a sea of black in the hamper.]

( Ahh, what is that sounds he hears? With a cheery grin, Jules is sticking her head out of the kitchen. ) Hello?

( She's not got a great deal of stuff here, yet, nothing really to accumulate, and she's just been perched on the kitchen counter, waiting for the kettle to boil, but now she's sauntering out, drawing a packet of cigarettes from her pocket as she goes, wandering until she finds Lisbeth. )

Um, I don't think we've met, yet. I'm Jules? Lovely to meet you, I'm sure we're going to get along absolutely fantastically. Actually, I've been told I'm exceptionally charming.

( And... she glances at her packet of cigarettes. ) Are you a non-smoker? Should I not smoke in the flat? Oh, I can make some hot chocolate or tea, actually, if you like.

( Jules please stop talking )

[Lisbeth is turning around to exit Jesse's room when she's ambushed. She skids to a stop in the hallway as a woman speaks rapidly, introducing herself, and asking questions. She knew they were getting a new roommate, but this wasn't what Lisbeth had been expecting.

She only answers the question she cares about.]

Coffee, actually.

Coffee! Yes, good. Brilliant.

( Ah. She just... stands, for a second. Just stands. Just tries to fathom what she can do that her new roommate will be pleased by, and... you know what, she is going to go with the easiest option. ) I can make some, if you like? I am excellent for coffee, but just about anything else you might want to ban me from the kitchen.

( Lady lives off toast and sometimes even that goes wrong. )

[This was awkward. The two of them were just standing there, Lisbeth averting Jules gaze. Her eyes kept shifting to the floor, waiting for the woman to move. Then she offers to make coffee.

Lisbeth loves coffee. She loves it even more when she doesn't have to make it herself.]

Okay.

Good!

( Thank whatever god might exist! She flashes Lisbeth a grin, delighted, and all but bounces towards the kitchen. )

Have you been in Exsilium long? Oh, and do you know our other roommate? I haven't met them yet.

[Lisbeth cautiously follows her into the kitchen. Their other roommate? Did she mean Jesse? She sits on one of the chairs that line the counter in the kitchen.]

Yes, I know him.

Oh! Excellent.

( Coffee coffee coffee coffee oh man she loves coffee but first totally getting some chocolate biscuits from the cupboard that is already worryingly full of sugar, opening the pack and, hey, she is offering them to Lisbeth before she inhales them so that is like, the ultimate gesture of friendship. Right there. Right fucking there, okay.

She's had too much coffee today, already. )

Name? Age? Does he like wine? Do you like wine, actually? Because I was going to humbly suggest that we have one shelf dedicated to refreshing beverages at all times. In the fridge, I mean. We might need a cupboard for stockpiling.

( She is going to silence herself with a biscuit. Yes. )

[Even though her energy was a little off-putting, Lisbeth wasn't going to say no to chocolate biscuits. She grabs one and immediately begins eating it. However, Lisbeth hasn't even swallowed when Jules starts her barrage of questions.]

Jesse, 26. I don't like wine, but I'm not sure about him.

[They usually knocked back liquor together. Romance, right?]

No wine? That's absolutely fine, I dare say we can hit on at least a few liquors that we all enjoy. Or beer! Beer is great, too.

( Good God, these biscuits are good. )

Jesse, brilliant. I dare say I can remember that.

[Lisbeth took another bite of her biscuit as Jules went on.]

Beer's good.

[But what about the coffee she needs it now.]

Then we shall have an entire treasury of it. A kingdom. A vast beer kingdom over which we shall rule most gloriously.

( And she is going to pop the kettle on, and start fussing around with all the things for coffee. )

So.

( She is the quiet type, isn't she? They're always rather interesting. ) Tell me something about yourself?

[Lisbeth hates that question. What does she want to know and why does she have to know? However, she realizes she didn't even give her her name. Hopefully it would satisfy her enough for the conversation to move on.]

My name is Lisbeth.

( Lisbeth, Lisbeth. Repeating it so she can make sure she remembers. ) I told you mine, didn't I?

( Of course she did. There's-- an awkward few seconds, where she is aware she is being a bit much, and she exhales slowly. Empathy didn't necessarily make soothing her own nerves very easily. She was going to be living with this person: she needs to make a good impression.

Mercifully, the kettle is quicker than the stovetop thing she has in her van, and she snatches it off as soon as the water is boiling, so she can continue in her grand coffee quest. ) I've never really had roommates before being in Exsilium, so if there's ever a problem, let me know?

[Yes. Yes she did tell her her name.]

I didn't have a roommate back home. But Jesse and I know each other from another reality and we were roommates there.

[To put it simply.]

Oh, so you're well acquainted?

( Hmm. ) From another reality, no less.

( The only way to deal with this is to be conspiratorial. That was totally an eyebrow waggle. )

[Is that coffee ready? Please tell her that coffee's ready. There was no use - and no reason - to sugarcoat it for Jules. But Lisbeth was still so unused to this idea, the idea of being exclusive.

So she scratches the counter top, pretending to clean some mythical crumb from it. Her head is down.]

He's my boyfriend.

( et voila, one coffee being carefully set down in front of Lisbeth, along with a little jug of milk, a bowl of sugar, a couple of teaspoons. )

Oh, brilliant.

( Fair warning, Jules is putting maybe like six sugars in her own coffee. Yikes. )

I have no official plus one to attend our flat here, but uh... I have some friends who might visit?

( Just seeing if that's cool. Because otherwise, sadness. )
