I know your name, and that you're photogenic and tall

Date & Time: Late night of May 20th
Location: Team Alliance Bachelor pad (Apartment 605)
Characters: Thassarian and Anduin (Open to Med'an)
Summary: Thassarian is a nightblogging fool. Anduin can't sleep.
Warnings: N/A

It was easily morning when Anduin woke up from a restless fit of dreams. Easily morning and yet not morning enough to actually be awake. Frustrated, he tossed and turned in a desperate bid for sleep before finally giving up and rolling to his feet.

Perhaps he just needed a walk. A few moments to clear his head before daring to try again. Still groggy, the prince made his way towards the door to his room, pausing at the sound of someone speaking on the other side. Thassarian? What was he doing about at this hour. Curious now, Anduin opened the door slowly, peeking out.

...to find his friend camped on the couch, making an array of frustrated noises at his tablet. Thoughts of sleep slowly vanished as he watched and listened for a moment longer before snapping up a blanket and wandering towards him.

"Morning..."

"Morning."

He didn't exactly sound pleased, and he didn't look up from his tablet. He tapped the screen a few times, and then sighed, looking up at Anduin.

"Wait, what time is it? It's not almost light out already, is it?"

It was very easy to lose track of time when you were mindlessly surfing the network at all hours of the night. But it was better than what he did some nights- aimlessly wandering the frequently rainy streets and exploring the city.

He scooted over a bit so Anduin would have plenty of space on the sofa, and tapped at the screen a couple of times. The device chirped at him, and he frowned at it. He tapped the screen again.

Chirp, chirp.

"...yes."

He frowned slightly, looking down at the tablet, and then over at Anduin. His expression relaxed a bit. He'd have to remember that trick, in the future.

A pause, and he looked over at Anduin, huddled up on the sofa. He smiled softly for a moment, resting his left hand on Anduin's shoulder, holding the tablet in his right hand.

"Trouble sleeping?"

He looked down at Anduin. It was odd. His prince, someone who knew exactly what he was, here. And trusting him. Wanting to be in his company. Thassarian had felt, for a very long time, that perhaps he had no place among the living. Some part of him felt that he was dangerous, for as much as he was fond of Anduin, he could almost feel his heartbeat. Every breath Anduin took was something a very dark part of Thassarian wanted to choke from his lungs.

But something else in him, something stronger, something still alive kept him from that. He looked down at Anduin leaning closer, and turned his tablet to him.

"I was just looking at the network. That's what I do every night around this time...or I start leaving messages to people. Last time, I woke up Ashraf."

Ashraf, another person who didn't seem to mind him. He was a man of the Light, as much as Anduin was, and had touched him, without his gloves on. Willingly. Thassarian had carried him home, and Ashraf had kissed him on the cheeks. They had even spoken after that, and Ashraf said that he remembered it- perhaps it wasn't all just brought on by a drunken haze.

Confusing, that the living would want to be near him.

He was much more used to being shuffled off to fight the undead, used as a weapon against his own kind. Was it, perhaps, that his "kind" wasn't the undead? That he wasn't as apart from the living as he had thought?

He frowned slightly. It was all confusing and he didn't want to think about it too much- he was never good at this sort of thing.

"Normally, I just ask if they'd like to spend some time with me. Maybe get a drink." He shrugs. "Ask if they're okay."

He chuckled softly.

"Koltira usually does. Ashraf did, as well...I think he went back to sleep after that. Admittedly, it was a bit early in the morning. Bariyan took a few hours."

He looked down at Anduin.

"There's not much to do around this time of night. I sometimes go out and wander the city."

"Maybe I'll just loom over your bed." He chuckled, looking down at Anduin. It was odd. Back home, he'd never have expected to even be on speaking terms with the prince. But, here, he liked him quite a bit. Anduin reminded him of a younger brother he never had.

Perhaps there was more good in this place than he had thought. It was a home for Koltira, a place for him to stay safe. It was a new chance for Thassarian- a place where the word "Scourge" didn't hang over him so heavily.

And perhaps it was also a place that he could find a home, finally.

He smiled, and this time, it met his eyes. A rare smile, one that was honest and not just a gesture.

"If you have trouble sleeping again, I'll go walking with you. I don't find much, but it's better than being cooped up inside all night."

"Better that you have someone with you. The streets aren't always kind." He remembered the last time he was out at night, and the muggers who tried, and thankfully failed, to ambush himself and Ashraf.

"I plan to go back to my farm soon, as well...I can't neglect it too much. I'll be back, though. I promise. I'll always come back."

He looked down at Anduin, his expression neutral but honest.

"Of course. I wouldn't bullshit you about that."

He smiled softly, resting has hand against Anduin's chest and giving him an almost-hug, careful to be gentle, even as he knew that he could snap Anduin's bones and suck the marrow from them.

These two parts of him would be ever at war with each other. But, here, perhaps he had found a new sense of home.

"I try to be honest...my father always said that was for the best. And my sister could tell you- I'm horrible at lying."

He chuckled coldly.

"Good thing I only needed to worry myself with swords and animals." Of course, it had bitten him in the ass before, but better him than other people, really.
