Summary:

a collection of threads throughout June following the Dan's activity with one another as well friends connected to the Dan, put into one post to avoid spamming the comms. Sometimes a dan roll call.

Warnings: Uuuuuh idk lots of gross sick people. Dying! Sad teenagers and friends!

The virus is spreading, and even the Dan is catching it. And so are their friends. This is whatever they decide to do during June while sick. Prose and action spam friendly!

[Jade is at the kitchen table, trying to use science!!! and also fake alchemy to create the active ingredients in a medicine to reduce fever. He doesn't have all the herbs he would have used if he were at home, after all, so now he gets this.

Life is hard.]

Keith. Could you give me that apple?

[He is focusing very, very intently on getting the mass of molecules in front of him to come together in exactly the right way, which means a break in concentration would be really bad.]

[Shortly after it's apparent that the disease is a serious one, this mass text is sent out:]

that flashing text is making me feel sick already

[A lot of people have been getting sick. Since about a day ago, he's been seeing some of the kids and elderlies on the streets falling ill, and he's immediately able to connect that to a weak immune system, and the self-aware shut-in can draw that line straight back to himself. His first thought upon the realization: crap.

His suspicions are confirmed when his head starts to hurt, and he notices the symptoms of a cold. He uses up more tissues, he knows this is a fever. He realizes too late that whatever it is, it must have infected Momo already, and he spends the day worrying how terrible it will be.

On the fifth, Shintaro regrets his life decisions regarding his immune system a little when he feels the discomfort in his chest. This is bad, he thinks, when even a little bit of movement makes him feel tired and out of breath. He feels dizzy, but he has to go tell Momo, make sure she knows to go to Kano and Kido for help... unless they haven't been infected yet.

He's got cold sweat and a pale face and is breathing tiredly as he walks up to Momo at the apartment.]

... Momo.

Message: whatever's going around the city right now, i caught it. it's quick and it gets in your lungs within a day of the first symptoms, so it's bad. consider me out of commission for a while.

should've actually worked on physically training you. I don't really get what this illness is but do you have any medicine for your cough? how's Kisaragi holding up?

at this point the medicine won't do much
i got a sore throat on the 4th. it's the 6th. i'm coughing up phlegm

[By now, Keith's actions are automatic. He doesn't answer Jade, but he steps forward from the wall he was standing against to stay out of the way and reaches for the apple he'd memorized the location of since after Jade placed it there. He hands it over without further prompting, placing it where Jade could reach easily.]

[That's really gross Shintaro.]

that fast? what are you doing to take care of yourself then?

[There isn't a nod of thanks, but Jade doesn't think Keith doesn't need one. Jade places the apple in a bowl and breaks it down into component parts. He mixes that in with his first set of ingredients before setting it over the stove to heat up. This part he'd rather do manually. He wants to use the abilities he is uncertain of as infrequently as possible.]

The mixture labelled in red in the fridge, please. [He himself is adding a ground leaf to the mixture that is heating.]

[wow leader he's dying here!! he's trying to tell you it's serious!!]

i tried medicine the first day, it didn't help.
i've been eating and sleeping. it's hard to get out of bed

[not that it's stopping him completely. he has to make sure kaworu doesn't burn the apartment trying to cook and make sure momo's okay]

[With this weird cold that's been spreading to everyone in the city, Kaworu's making an effort to check on his friends and acquaintances to make sure they're alright.

This includes his would-be roommates. He uses his key to unlock the door, but not before having knocked on it. It may technically be his housing assignment, but he doesn't really live here.]

Hello? [he calls out as he sets a bag of assorted items on the kitchen counter.]

[He means Luke, if that wasn't clear. He's not really sure why he got this text in the first place. much less how Kano made it sparkle.]

[By the 7th, Shintaro is the picture of death. Or very close to it, at least, as he's found himself a cold mask to wear since it's hard to stop coughing for more than a minute. He's short on breath too what with the sickness getting into his lungs. He's in the kitchen making himself some tea to drink when Kaworu comes in, dressed with the usual jacket but wearing more comfortable sweats, kind of leaning on the counter to steady himself.]

Ah, Nagisa-san... You're home? [You shouldn't be, you'll catch this death cold!!]
