The virus is spreading, and even the Dan is catching it. And so are their friends. This is whatever they decide to do during June while sick. Prose and action spam friendly!

June 5th; Momo and Shintaro

[A lot of people have been getting sick. Since about a day ago, he's been seeing some of the kids and elderlies on the streets falling ill, and he's immediately able to connect that to a weak immune system, and the self-aware shut-in can draw that line straight back to himself. His first thought upon the realization: crap.

His suspicions are confirmed when his head starts to hurt, and he notices the symptoms of a cold. He uses up more tissues, he knows this is a fever. He realizes too late that whatever it is, it must have infected Momo already, and he spends the day worrying how terrible it will be.

On the fifth, Shintaro regrets his life decisions regarding his immune system a little when he feels the discomfort in his chest. This is bad, he thinks, when even a little bit of movement makes him feel tired and out of breath. He feels dizzy, but he has to go tell Momo, make sure she knows to go to Kano and Kido for help... unless they haven't been infected yet.

He's got cold sweat and a pale face and is breathing tiredly as he walks up to Momo at the apartment.]

... Momo.

[She hasn't failed to notice Shintaro's symptoms. He's not well. She can tell that much. And he's not the only one in the place to have fallen ill either. But it's easy to convince herself that it's just a cold running around, that it's nothing serious, even as she too begins to feel just the slightest bit of discomfort on the very same day her brother approaches her. But it's nothing serious, is it? It's just a scratchy throat, just a cold.

So when Shintaro approaches him, pale and tired-looking, it's more of a surprise than anything else.]

...Huh? Have you been feeling worse?

[When he breathes, he sounds like he might start talking like Death. That is definitely gross stuff getting stuck in his throat and lungs. He decides that he should make some soup and hope it helps a bit.]

I don't think I've ever been this sick. It's really fast... it's contagious, too, I think. People around town've been getting sick too.

[eyecaptivating]

[She can't help a grimace at the sound, even as she considers checking what they have by way of medicine again. Shintaro's taken something already, hasn't he? Why isn't it working?

And if it really is so contagious, will it be the same for her once she starts feeling worse?]

Yeah... [She begins, voice soft, with a shaky smile.] But you're gonna be okay, right? It looks really bad, but... Everyone's going to get better, right?

I hope so. [But Shintaro was never one to hope a lot. It's really only in the last two years that he even showed interest in the outcome of things. Today, maybe it's the sickness or he has other thoughts on the likelihood of recovery, as he puts a hand to his chest as if wondering if that could magically make it better.]

If you need to, you know to go to Kido and the others, right?

[eyecaptivating]

[Her smile immediately melts away and she shifts slightly in place. She knows he wouldn't exactly be alone if she up and left to go with the rest of the Dan, but she can't quite bring herself to leave him, not with how very sick he is.]

Ahaha... Yes, I know that! But I can't leave you all by yourself, stupid! You're too sick for that.

[Shintaro, on the other hand, looks amused by her request.]

I'm not saying that. I can take care of myself fine, though.

[eyecaptivating]

[Oh. Well... She shakes her head.]

It doesn't matter! You're still too sick. I'm helping take care of you anyway.

Momo... [He sighs, shakes his own head and nods.]

All right. Thanks. But I can still do stuff for now.

[eyecaptivating]

That's fine. Just let me help you, okay? You've gotta be careful you don't do something stupid and end up even more sick!

[He gives her a flat stare and reaches over and smushes her cheeks.]

I'll stay in the apartment and sleep most of the day so I'll be fine, okay?

[eyecaptivating]

[She takes a hurried step back, a sound suspiciously resembling a squawk escaping her. Gosh, so embarrassing!] H-hey!

All right, fine! So... So you should go sleep soon, okay?

[substitutable]

[she squawked. This uncute reaction is familiar and it makes him grin a little.]

I will once I know you're not going to break anything.

[eyecaptivating]

[A shake of her head. Oh, that is so uncool, Shintaro!]

I won't, I won't! I'm not that clumsy. When you wake up, everything will be just fine!

[He just laughs at her and smushes her face again.]

I get it, I get it. I guess even you can make breakfast, too.

[eyecaptivating]

[She tries to squirm away again, scowling.

Oh, making breakfast... Right. She can totally do that. Totally.]

Yes! I'm not gonna burn the apartment down!

[Good. She's squawking at him. It's a little bit more normal now.]

Good. I don't think this building needs another disaster after the space ship fiasco.

[Wait a minute. Did he just compare...]

Ah! Me cooking isn't as bad as a space ship crash!
