Date & Time: June 1st
Location: Jaime/Peter/Han's apartment
Characters: Jaime Reyes ([personal profile] khajidont), Peter Gaudin ([personal profile] perdre) and Han Solo ([personal profile] pilot)
Summary: Peter and Jaime's digs gain a space pilot. Cue dorky freakouts.
Warnings: N/A

While Jaime hadn't had much experience living with anyone beyond his own family - not counting a few weekend stays at Titans Tower - he was pretty sure that he was supposed to have more contact with his roommate than he had indulged in so far. He didn't spend a whole lot of time at home in the first place, but after the war happened, he had become downright antisocial for a little while there.

That had to change. Peter had been nothing but pleasant the few times that they had spoken for which Jaime counted himself lucky considering the sorts of people he saw around on the network. Hoping that they could at least hang out once or twice, he offered to grab some lunch for the both of them and called him out to their shared kitchen.

The fact that more Transports were rolling in was, unfortunately, something that completely slipped his mind.

"Yeah -" He took one step forward, stopping himself before he could really start, hand lost somewhere in the middle of an aimless gesture. "You can't just... walk in here like that. Are you a new Transport?"

His tone was still careful, as if concerned that the wrong word would send their guest running. He was fascinated and curious, and - if it turned out that this was who he thought it was, it would be a very cool story to share.

With whom? No idea, but the prospect was still nice.
pilot: (never refuse cuddle phrase.)

"I have a key to this place that says I can." He flips it between his fingers for the others to see. "I just arrived for the second time. I don't know what those are," a look at Jaime. "Han Solo. I think that answers all your questions."

"Han Solo," He repeated the name after Jaime finished introductions, a dazed little echo from a young man that never thought he'd be saying it in this context. "You're Han Solo."

He was tempted to throw something like 'for real?' at him, but thought twice. Instead he looked at Jaime to silently arch his brows and look a little lost.
pilot: (time we have that weird fetish talk.)

"I'd show you identification, but it didn't come with me." His smile is an unamused grin. "We done here?"

Peter, on the other hand... had no idea what his face was doing. It was somewhere between a gape and just wide eyed bewilderment.

"Does he - I mean. Does he know who he is?"

Did he realize what he'd walked into?
pilot: (sorry for party rocking.)

Not really.

He returns after he's stuffed his "weapon" under the bed where no one can see. Han remains tense, though he hides it well.

"So," he prompts after a moment. "Do I get names?"

Peter turned quickly, back to the door, blinking with arched brows and a dry throat. There he was again. He was real. That was... well. He didn't know what else was expected. How to describe the feeling of watching someone leap out from your memory of a movie and into real life?

"Peter. Peter Gaudin," French accent clear in his last name, he nodded briefly and walked over to offer a hand. "Uhm - welcome."
pilot: (we should start the year clean & sober.)

Han had a good ear for accents. He had honed it after so much travel. Being able to pick them up, along with languages, had saved his life and his cargo more than once. There were similarities here, but still nothing he had heard before. it only helped to drive further how strange everything here was.

After a little pause, he took Peter's hand. His grip was solid.

"Thanks. A real pleasure to be here." Much as he tried (not that he tried every hard), he could not keep the sarcasm out of his voice. He was safe, for the moment, but when had he ever played it safe? He would rather be back on Cloud City, he should be there still, and instead he's planet-bound and drafted. In the list of bad days, today had managed to crack his top ten.

A side glance at Jaime and he grabbed a chair. "When are we eating?"

His hand retracted, tucked under his arm. Peter shrugged lightly and looked at Jaime for some kind of direction - now was definitely good to have dinner with Han Solo. No big deal.

Following the other two, he took the last free chair to cross his arms over the table, perfectly content to let the others serve themselves before taking his turn. Hunger didn't come around so often when he went out hunting on his own, and this had been a rather productive month so far. Not that... people needed to know that. Turning into a wolf to maim rodents in the Outlands wasn't exactly a topic of conversation he was interested in pursuing.

"--have you ever had them? Burritos?"

And yes, he fought the urge to add 'in space'.
pilot: (ttyl tear gas.)

"I've had something like it." Han examined the burrito before taking an experimental bite. He shrugged. "Didn't call them that."

Jaime stole Peter's next question. Fair enough, though - it made his mind start working again instead of just falling into a loop that allowed him enough distraction to stare at Han like a skeptic examining proof of alien life.

Eat the burrito, Peter.
pilot: (six inches is not enough.)

He said the name then took another bite. It was good enough grub, even if at that point he was hungry enough to eat just about anything. He hadn't realized how much until he started eating.

"So how long have you two been stuck here?"

"Not much," Peter shook his head, still chewing on a small chunk. He didn't mean to be rude - not overtly, at least. But he figured his company wouldn't mind it terribly. "Do you know anything?"
pilot: (you forgot the marshmallows.)

"The Initiative didn't say anything." But Han never expected them to, and he was lucky enough to bump into someone he had apparently known who was willing to fill him in. "I heard about Elmer's world. Five billion death toll, was it?"
