They thought that trips to Alaska and getting shots would be the beginning of a relaxing break. Instead they got quarantines and bombs and people getting mad at them. Big. Sigh.

I'm glad to hear it. Have you noticed your healing rate increasing?

I haven't been injured enough to notice.

[He really is pretty good at not damaging himself, you know.]

[It's funny how Jade can make it sound like the opposite of nice.]

I think my endurance is improving, though.

Has that been difficult to assess with your fading illness?

A bit. It's hard to measure how quickly I'm getting tired when I hardly have any energy to begin with.

[Which, logic, Jade probably already knows, but it doesn't hurt to be clear anyway. He runs a tired hand through his hair, pushing his bangs back again.]

I imagine so.

The obvious answer, of course, is more bed rest. [He is smiling. He suspects he won't be getting that from Asch.]

If I see my bed for anything but sleeping in the next month, I'll probably light it on fire.

Well, it's good Natalia's not here.

I can't imagine that such a compassionate healer would be happy to see her childhood friend over-stressing himself so soon after an illness.

Asch makes a loud hmph of not being at all convinced, but at least the blush is receding.]

If I'm over-stressed, it's because of the bombings, not being out of bed.
