Summary: Kara does stuff!! With people.

Kara doesn't really have any kind of set schedule, though her days are undeniably full. She expends a good deal of energy helping out with rebuilding projects as much as she can. Part of it is, of course, an attempt to garner goodwill with the natives. She's had enough bad press in the past to realize how disastrous it could get if interactions between all three people groups of Exsilium--Transports, natives, and Initiative members--stay strained. Another part of her drive is just the fact that she wants to help. Ever a bleeding heart, Kara's not able to turn away from anyone in need. And boy is there a lot of need.

But she does have other priorities too. She can also be found exploring some of the more ramshackle places in the city, looking for an abandoned building to renovate and turn into her on Fortress of... Something. The name and the plan both need work, but she's determined to get a work space. Other times she can be found in one of the libraries, pouring over books and information on her tablet. She usually takes up a whole table with all her reading materials, notes, and graphs. Whoever said collating data wasn't fun?

If she's not there, she's usually either training or patrolling. Training for her usually isn't a lot of heavy combat. For one, her superstrength makes it hard for her to really get any use out of things like practice dummies or punching bags. But she'll go through the motions of a fight on the mats a few times a week. If she's training with her weapon, she's usually hovering and seated as if she was meditating while her little silver orb darts around her training room and into hallways.

Patrolling is, well. Patrolling Exsilium. Usually she does it from the skies as it gives her the best view as what's going on down below. And, you know, there's also the fact that it gives her an excuse to soar through the air. So if there's more loop-de-loops than is strictly necessary, that would be why.

Well, if you're sure... [ she's certainly not going to turn down food. now that she's thinking about it, she can't clearly remember the last time she sat down and ate a meal. ] I prefer tuna to ham.

[implying]

Then here you are!

[ He hands over a neatly wrapped sandwich, only slightly gourmet. You just can't do that much with a picnic lunch intended for strangers. ]

Transport-native relations, you know. It pays to give out delicious home-cooked meals.

That's a pretty good idea, actually. [ kara kind of wishes she had thought of it.

she takes a bite of the sandwich and smiles a bit as she chews. ] This is really pretty good.

[implying]

Wait until you try my cooking meant to be sat down with and enjoyed.

[ If he sounds cocky, well, it's just because he is. He grins, unwrapping the other sandwich for himself. Casually: ]

Say, would you happen to know a one purple Bat-lady? Decently tall, blonde, completely gorgeous?

[ that almost sounds like an invitation. kara would be a lot more weirded out by that if it weren't for the fact that vanadi knows steph. ]

It just so happens that I do know a purple Bat-lady. [ she grins. ] She's my best friend.

[implying]

So I've heard.

[ He grins, like they share a secret. Though, considering Stephanie's taking to wearing the suit about whenever it's needed, it's probably not much of a secret at all anymore. ]

Supergirl, yes? Or, ah, do you prefer Kara?

You have?

[ oh god, has steph been talking about her? kara is suddenly and inexplicably scared. not that she thinks steph would say anything bad about her... it's just a knee-jerk reaction. ]

Uh, Kara's fine. I don't think I caught your name...?

[implying]

Never you fear, now! Your best friend speaks only good of you. Why, she's lead me to believe that the moniker is quite fitting!

[ He smiles widely, setting the sandwich aside to offer out a gloved hand. ]

I'm Vanadi.

[skort]

Oh, well, in that case, I guess it's okay.

[ she's actually pretty flattered, both by steph saying good things about her and vanadi's reaction. ]

It's nice to meet you, Vanadi.

[implying]

The pleasure is all mine.

[ He'd shift it from a handshake to a kiss of the back of her hand, but considering the eating that's going on at the same time, that's bad manners. She'll have to be content with the slightly less courtly version. ]

So then, just what is it you're doing out here?

I'm looking to see what buildings can be fixed up around here.

[ she turns to look from vanadi to the ramshackle surroudings and shrugs, embarrassed. ]

I could use a project to work on, and I'd like to have space to tinker.

[implying]

Well, there are plenty to look through... tinker on what, if I may?

[ He tries to be interested, as it's only polite, but there's the barest edge of wariness to the question, and he aims it out at the buildings around them. ]

Electronics, mostly. [ she takes a bite of her sandwich and uses the pause to think. ] I do some mechanical engineering--I used to reprogram the 'bots that would babysit me when I was younger, and various types of vehicles are interesting to mess with. But that's not a regular thing.
