[ True to her word, through the messages they'd exchanged, she's waiting just outside the Hold an hour or so after. Pepper's always more than willing to spend time outside talking about something besides work. Not that she minds the pressure, but there's something therapeutic when it comes to a break; the added bonus of coffee and company doesn't hurt either.

She smiles when she sees Joan, not bothering to wait for the other woman to reach her. Pepper meets her halfway, making sure to slide tablet into a pocket so she can offer her hand. ]

I hope you didn't get lost. It's nice to meet you in person, Joan.

[To say that Joan was feeling a little relieved would have been an understatement. First of all, her day hadn't quite started out the way she had expected it or wanted it to- add all of that into this whole new world thing and you had one pretty stressed out Joan Watson. After Pepper's kind offer though, she knew turning it down would be something she would probably regret. Which is why, after finishing up all her check ups on Sherlock, Joan had set out.

She tucks her tablet under her arm for a brief moment, before extending her own hand and giving her a smile of her own.]

If there's one thing this place has provided it was good directions. It's wonderful to meet you in person too, Pepper. Thank you again for inviting me.

It's the least I could do. [ And she means it, shaking Joan's hand before drawing back and tilting her head in indication that they should walk. The cafe she has in mind isn't too far, so it should be a relatively short trip. ] You seemed to have you hands full with that friend of yours anyway. Is he always like that?

[ If she says yes, they might need to add a little something extra to that coffee. ]

[Joan easily falls in step with Pepper and she shifts the bag on her shoulder for a moment before responding.]

About 90% of the time, yes. It's certainly a test of my patience.
