Leviathans, Pt 1
Date & Time: July 13 - 20
Location: Various locations
Characters: Levi!Castiel and you!
Summary: As detailed in this OOC announcement, Castiel returns home with some additional baggage, some of which he's offloaded onto others -- an elf, a troll, various others in this dystopian world. Now, this Leviathan is off to visit some friends.
Warnings: Creepy leviathan behavior, violence, language.
[ There is a soft patter of liquid dripping off Castiel's sodden overcoat, a trickle of oily black liquid trailing down from inside his sleeve through the curve of his palm, collecting at the tip of his thumb and... with no place else to go, it falls into a growing puddle at his feet.
He's weary from expelling the others from the angel, thought that for a moment he would have exploded entirely but he held on miraculously. What damage that had already been done was healing itself, albeit slowly, and now he looks every bit like a sick, oil-covered and dazed angel. His clothes are stained with blood -- all of it belonging to innocent lives lost while the angel was drunk on souls and believing so badly that he could fix everything -- waterlogged and pulses of black liquid spreading beneath his skin as the Leviathan swam through his veins. Otherwise, he looked the part of Castiel... except the angel is dead, or close enough to it to pose no threat. And perhaps serve as a convenient snack when his time came.
Weariness could only be combated with food, not rest, and for now his largest priorities were to get in touch with the others, to learn what insight they had gathered from their new shapes... and a few of the people this angel once sought to protect and heal. There was a clinic, the angel's closest companions and numerous others who were easy pickings, and nothing quite stirred the appetite like seeing recognition and abject horror coming from a potential first course. ]

[Her eyes narrow, disgusted at how much this creature seems to relish telling her that her friend is gone. One fist clenches at her side, but she manages to keep her voice steady.]
Castiel wouldn't go down that easily. Not to something as vile as you.
[Despite his naivete, he is a formidable fighter, his vast power often in stark contrast to social inexperience. However, that very naivete can't be dismissed, especially the way the creature had phrased its answer; Yoruichi could absolutely see Castiel in all his stubborn earnestness, getting in over his head.]
[Still, given how strong Cas is...the idea of something overpowering him isn't just dismaying...it's terrifying.]
[She's simply biding time now, delicately probing to see if it's really true, if there really is nothing left of Castiel in there. It's difficult, and she'd like nothing more than to shy away from the filth roiling about in the creature's energy, but she presses on, refusing to give up on him just on this thing's word alone.]
[It's nothing, she thinks, that Castiel wouldn't do for her.]

I know, such a disappointing end for some holier-than-thou creature. But we swallowed him whole just as easily as anything else.
[ The fact that Leviathan can overpower angels -- easily, at that -- offers up plenty of good reasons to fear them, particularly among those who know the abilities Castiel has at his disposal. But in this world, Castiel's memories of others here has transferred to the Leviathan. And the only reason they haven't practically taken over by now is because these are just humans they are dealing with.
But despite the easy lie that comes from the Leviathan and the state Castiel appears to be in. Yoruichi's familiarity with Castiel gives her the faintest sense that he's still in there somewhere. Somewhere deep and dark, and entirely overpowered by the polluted thing inhabiting his vessel. ]
...Huh. [ The Leviathan cocks his head to the side, squinting at her. ] You're nosing around where you shouldn't be. What else can you do that he hasn't already revealed to us?
no subject
Now why would I tell you that?
[Said carelessly, as she unbuttons her jacket, tossing it aside. It's slim fitting like all her clothing, but she still doesn't want it getting in the way. There's no getting out of this without a fight, and considering what he's done to her friend, she doesn't exactly want to. Her stance shifts slightly, ready to move or react in any direction.]
You may be a better liar than he is, but now I know he's in there.
[She shrugs, a faint smirk not hiding the cold anger in her eyes. Her voice raises in volume, sharp and urgent, hoping against everything that her voice will reach past all that ooze she senses pressing him down.]
Castiel, there's something disgusting stuck to you. If you won't get rid of it yourself, I'll just have to beat you until it lets go.

Many could pose a challenge here, thanks to their special weapons. But this one knows from personal experience that there is more to Yoruichi than her pranks and prancing around as a feline. That she is herself a fair match against angels. And in his weakened, hungry state... a challenge for Leviathan such as he. ]
Maybe because this one is a good friend of yours. Because you would not see him too heavily harmed... no matter the cause.
[ The smile draws wider, toothy and mocking -- would you see Castiel beaten to a pulp? ]
no subject
You think so?
[Her voice is still careless, and she sounds remarkably unfazed at the idea of injuring Castiel's body. She isn't, of course, but she won't let that thing know if she can help it.]
They can bring people back to life here, so I'm sure they can fix any damage I inflict.
Any soldier learns to deal with pain. He's a sturdy boy--I'm sure he can take it.
no subject
Is that so?
[ Return the dead to life? Sounds like an all-you-can-eat buffet for Leviathans, and none of the impact to the population. ]
He is sturdy, I'll give you that... but he was no match for us. What makes you think you stand a chance?
no subject
[And really, that's enough talking for now. She shoots forward, drawing back a fist to punch him right in the face.]
[In all honesty, she has no idea if she's any sort of match for this creature. But that's not going to stop her from trying.]
no subject
Oh, this is going to be fun.
[ He surges forward, driving his hand toward her torso to aim a punch deep enough to gut any normal human, but this is Yoruichi we're talking about here... and thanks to the knowledge gleaned from Cas, he knows he can expect some entertainment from her. ]
