( open ) don't say yes if you can't say no
Date & Time: Post-dated to 25th
Location: Around the city
Characters: Ygritte and YOU
Summary: Ygritte being Ygritte and doing her usual thing around the city
Warnings: She comes with her own standard warning
There wasn't much about the mission she had liked. It wasn't necessarily bad, and it was more comfortable than the time she was in New Mexico. At least the heat hadn't killed her. Though she was glad to have her furs back on. Stocked on her weapons, Ygritte left the security of her encampment for her daily forage.
And by forage, it was usually stealing what she could where she could. People didn't secure their things nearly as well here, and she usually came back home with a few pieces of fruit or occasionally some animal she could easily slaughter. It just wasn't easy coming by animals period. She did wonder where they came from to begin with, but Ygritte preferred to prepare her own meat, perpetually distrusting of the way of life here. However sometimes she got by with stealing jewelry and gold and would trade for the animal. The concept of money was mostly unused by her. She did things the way her people did it, and she lived decently well for it.
So that was what she was doing today, seeing what she could pilfer and trade.

Her hand went to the jewellery again, fiddling with it, then looked at Ygritte again, looking her up and down. "Before you go..." she let her wrist go finally, her hand falling back in place. "... Where did you acquire a jacket like that?"
Because her own jacket wasn't made for this kind of constant rain, and she was going to have to start finding clothes that were better suited sooner rather than later. The furs at least looked warm.

"Home, actually. It was made by some women village long ago," Ygritte told her, looking down at it. It was dirty and muddy, but it managed to keep her warm and dry. It was far more durable than what most people brought to the city from their homes.
"Talk to a woman named Gwen though. She serves a Lady Morgana. She makes my trousers, and I know she could use the coin." Okay, so Gwen gave her clothes in trade for sword lessons, but she wasn't going to tell this woman that. Not if she could help a friend.

"I was after the furs. I am hoping there was some beast here worth hunting and you would know how to treat it." Sewing, she could do herself. Even hunting, but she no equipment to do that with either. "But if you don't, I suppose I'll be keeping my gold to this 'Gwen'."

She managed to hold back an eye roll only because she was now talking about hunting. That was something Ygritte knew. "All the wild animals are poisoned out there--" she gestured outward, meaning outside the city. "No meat, no furs. But y'can get them if y'know where to look."
Meaning the same way she was going to find herself some gold just now.
I'm so sorry my inbox ate this tag fdfjd Also all my apologies for her... everything.
"Why are you stealing, if I may ask, surely there is a better way to go about your business than thievery here?" It was much better at least, for commoners.
no worries. ygritte clashes with most people
"And what's wrong with it?" She looked her over. "It's what I'm good at."
<3 pfft funnest kind of cr is the squabaling kind
The northern lords loathed her for much the same reasons they loathed her father. That being said, no one liked particularly going north of Hadrian's wall, she wondered how similar that was to this woman's homeland.
"It seems a strange thing to be proud of, is all. I am sure you have other skills that can get you honest work." Really, she was just curious. Morbid fascination was going to get her killed, one of these days. "Thieving I notice requires one to be quick, and clever."

Above the Wall was a hard place. It's people just as hard. They were strong and feirce, and held just as strong feelings. It was a way of life, who she was. The Initiative could steal her, but they couldn't take the wildling out of her.
"I do it because I can. I don't need to work under someone, tellin' me what t'do."
no subject
Not that she thought very much the other woman cared one way or another.
"Perhaps not under them then, can't you work with someone? As their equal." Why on earth was she even stopping to have this conversation, she didn't know, but all the same, she was curious.

Her words only seem to burn her, fueling something inside of her. "If I wanted to do anythin' else, I would. And if I cared about your opinion, I'd ask it," she said with a hard tone.
