Walt sat at the bar, and calmly and slowly sipped his scotch.

It vaguely reminded him of the last two times he can remember being at one--neither of which he had fond memories from. He had asked Jesse here just as a change of scenery; but also, when he thought back on it, he never did take Jesse up on his offer to get drinks. Why not now? He didn't have much to do around here, anyway.

Kousuke doesn't drink much, at least not when he's not on vacation with free alcohol, of course. But the idea of a pint and something to eat at the bar sounds good to him, especially since it's been so awkward at home.

He's still not sure about Oriko, even though they'd talked out their problems a little bit. I mean, how sure can you be about somebody who tells you to kill a guy so you won't have to kill the monster that's about to kill him from the inside. And of course, things were tense between him and Haruto... He's still not exactly sure how to breach the topic of their drunken makeout session.

He elbows up to the bar and orders a pint, glancing at the guy to the right of him and trying to figure out if he was a transport or native.

Walt had been staring off into space, awaiting his partner. He was in an amiable mood. He lifted his glass in acknowledgment.

"How goes it, stranger?"

"Oh uh," he gazes into his beer and sips it before answering. "I mean, I'm just hangin' out here to avoid goin' back home to an empty apartment, so you tell me." He's obviously glum, not really trying to be a fun companion. "It's a... romance thing, I guess."
