[This was a disaster. He stood over the pan, gazing at the mess he had made. It was supposed to be a hamburger like those at Nora Cafe. He did not know what it was now. The meat had all separated and the cheese was burning.

He had invited Maya to visit. This was supposed to be the meal he would serve but he could not give her this. He did not know how to fix this. There was not much time left.]

Kirika picks up on the stench of something getting further charred by the second the moment she re-enters the house. Footsteps can be heard loudly approaching from the foyer, then coming to an abrupt halt with her appearance in the entranceway]

Ico? [she looks from the pan to him, an unspoken "what just happened here"]

[Woah what the heck, was there another fire???]

[As soon as Maya smells that she increases her pace to burst in right after Kirika]

[Ico tensed when he heard footsteps. When he saw it was Kirika, he felt hopeful that she could help him. However, the feeling did not last. It was too late; Maya followed soon after and he could not hide this mess. His face flushed with shame.]

Kirika! Maya!

[No longer overwhelmed with thoughts, he placed a lid over the pan and he took it off the heat. He turned to them with his head lowered.]

I'm sorry for making a mess. I wanted to cook for Maya. That's what I'm supposed to do for guests, right?

Well... [given that the only person she is regularly a guest for tends to end up feeding her, Kirika is not the best candidate to answer such a question.
