Date: August 28th or so (backdated)
Location: Unit 607
Characters: Chrysos, Sanji, Emilia
Summary: Shifting from temporary to less-temporary housing means, eventually, meeting new roommates.
Warnings: None!

He would've been more taken aback by the interior of the apartment had the keys been given to him in the first few days of arrival. As it stood, the futuristic nature of these things in Exsilium had gotten marginally less jarring in the last few weeks, and so Chrys was able to bypass the long minute of standing in the doorway to gawk that might have otherwise ensued. The smell of fresh paint was still a surprise, though, in how it stung the nostrils.

...so this is meant to be home, he thought, for an indefinite period of time.

Among the first things he found himself doing, after setting the backpack with all his worldly possessions in a vacant bedroom, was investigating the rest of the apartment. Opening doors, looking out windows, looking over appliances, keeping an ear out for signs of other incoming roommates. Keeping part of his mind occupied while the rest continued to digest the same old information it'd been chewing over since he'd arrived.

Sanji had been spending his first couple of weeks in frantic daily searches for his crewmates, only to come up empty. Where were they? But the demands of his captors wouldn't allow him to keep looking and ignoring everything else, so he grudgingly went to go and see this flat they apparently were shoveling him into. He wanted to be with Luffy, wherever he was, but that didn't seem to be working out.

He was already smoking a cigarette when he barged in, probably not in the right kind of mood to be meeting new people. Unless they were women. Oh how he hoped his new roommates were women! "Oi!" he called out rather sternly. "Anybody in?"

To be honest, Emilia didn't want to move in with roomates. She has never been good with dealing with strangers, on top of being very out of her element. She's used to smaller spaces and she's used to deal with people she knows. She has a family back home, a pair of cute little twins and a wife and they all live in a Volkswagen van. Moving in a sturdy, unmoving building with two other strangers was not something she was looking forward too, but right now, she had no other option. Or, well, she did have other two options but they were not very good. One, she could go homeless. The other, more painful, was to ask to move in with either her sister-in-law, Poppy Chadwick, that wasn't really from her world, or with her wife that apparently doesn't even know about her existence because she's either from a different timeline or from an alternative version of their world.

So, she settles for the option of being thrown in with strangers. She has no personal belonging on her, so she gets to the room very early when there's nobody there yet (or so she thinks, she's actually there a little later than Chrysos). She looks through the rooms, the kitchen (out of the way, boys, this is her spot, she's a chef), the living room until she hears rustle and rattling. Following the sound, she finds Chrysos opening some windows in the living room. She would probably greet him, but a loud Oi! cuts her off and she turns around quickly to Sanji. She frowns a little and crosses her arms over herself in an unconscious protective gesture.

"Are you assigned to this room?" she asks after a moment of awkward silence, looking from one to the other.

The instant he heard Emilia's voice, Sanji's mood immediately shifted to one of delight. Completely ignoring the third person coming into the room, he sauntered right on over. "Ah, what a stroke of luck! I was going to check out the kitchen first, but I see a vision that must be fully explored, first!"

He swept into a deep bow. "The name's Sanji, the Marines call me Black Leg, and I am your servant of love, miss!"

Still ignoring that there was another young man in the room.

Oh, God.

Emilia leans back slightly at his approach, frowning in disapproval as he saunters around like a peacock trying to court a female. Then slides her eyes over to the other man and sighs with an eyeroll.

"Ah, oui, quel bien," she mutters in the driest tone you could muster, keeping her arms crossed and maintaining distance. She nods to the other young man at his question, not exactly pleased with the arrangement, but it's better than being without a roof.

"Do we need to have a list of rules or are we going to be adults?"

Looking at you, Sanji.
