[ There was a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach when he stopped by Princess Euphemia's apartment this morning only to find that she wasn't there. There was no reason for Euphemia to spend every waking second with Suzaku, however, especially when he had a bad tendency to run off on every available mission that the Initiative cooked up. At the same time while there were no missions going on Suzaku preferred to spend his time beside the princess and making sure she was safe.

It hasn't taken him long before he started searching the city for her. The longer the day drags on, the worse the gnawing worrying feeling in the pit of his stomach become and the more desperate he starts to feel.

He's soaking wet as he darts around the streets looking for any flash of pink he can get, and every now and then stopping to talk to people-- ]

Excuse me, have you seen a girl about my age with long pink hair pass through here?

All right, lead the way if you don't mind.

[ Having not been present for the departure of anyone she's known, Nunnally is unaware of just how common this sort of thing is. Even if she did know, the thought of Euphemia returning home was a grim one she couldn't quite mentally accept just yet.

She was still struggling with the concept that Euphemia is alive along with her brother. It'll take her a while to mentally be let down from those facts. ]

We'll find her. I could call for my kn--[ Deep breath. ]--new friend, Nemo. She's been quite helpful when it comes to matters like this.

[ Suzaku's been there long enough to know people that have disappeared from this world, but he hadn't been close to any of them. They weren't people he kept in contact with daily so their disappearance hadn't really affected him before. He was still aware of the fact that it could happen though. The worst of it had been hearing Kaede talk about how the Initiative had sent her dad back without letting her leave too.

It's just he wasn't ready to leap to that conclusion yet. Unlike Nunnally he'd like to think Euphie really had gone back home, though if he knew the truth of the matter that tune would probably change.

He takes a step forward in the direction they need to go before immediately freezing and turning to stare at Nunnally. ]

Nemo?

[ So she found Nunnally after all. That shouldn't be surprising, the city was only so big and the girl was determined. ]

Yes, Nemo. Have the two of you met?

[ Cautiously asking that. So far she's come to discover that there's a lot of strange correspondence going on around her as well as the others. With people from alternate points in time (a miracle that confounds her still), that meant there was information some were privy to.

Nemo, who claimed to be Nunnally's knight and told her of their time spent together in another world, is interesting to say the least.

Who knows what she's told Suzaku? What if he remembers her in his timeline? ]

She's quite the character, isn't she?

[ She hasn't told him much more than just that. That she was there to protect Nunnally and was her knight. That part in and of itself wouldn't bother him too much except for two things... Nemo's striking physical similarities to Nunnally and the claims that Lelouch had been the one to ask her to watch over Nunnally.

The fact that she clearly has a temper on her doesn't help things either.

He's frowning now, looking less than ecstatic about this. ]

Just once here in Exsilium. She's something else.

[ Surprisingly manages to say that without any sort of bitterness or anger in his voice. Right now he's just trying to figure Nemo out. He is relieved to know that she hasn't done anything to hurt Nunnally, even if he's still not ready to trust her. ]

I trust her.

[ Nunnally reaffirms this as if it needs to be said. Before it was easy for her to give her trust easily to anyone; that was before she can see with her own eyes to judge the situation around her. Now that she can stare into their eyes and hear the inflections in their voice, is that not enough to be a good judge of character? ]

She'll help if we ask, so its imperative that I do. The more who promise to assist, the better.

[ In a way it is important that she reaffirms it. Nunnally may trust her, but Suzaku doesn't. He's not happy with the idea of a temperamental stranger coming into contact with Euphemia. He's already not overwhelmed with the idea that Nunnally has become close to her either, and can't imagine Lelouch is happy about this

Nemo might be behaving herself for now, but everything about that girl sets Suzaku on edge. ]

I don't think that's necessary. If you're watching the shop I can cover a lot of ground on my own.

[ As is the natural order of things. Wasn't it her brother's plan to have a more appropriate knight for her? Not that Nunnally cares to comment on that, but for now Nemo is much better than the last one in her care. ]

Very well. I can stay there and you can contact me with the tablet if you locate her? I can do the same for you--once I've spoken with her to find out why she's slipping out of your sights, that is.

[ She is her sister and a dear childhood friend. If Euphemia was avoiding him in any way, she'd have to ask why first. ]

[ Suzaku looks taken aback by that comment. The idea that Euphie could have been avoiding him for any reason never even occurred to him. Nothing had happened between the two of them that would have given her any reason to want to run from him... as far as he knows anyway. ]

It could just be a coincidence. The city has been relatively safe lately and she might have wanted to check things out on her own...

[ Though now he is wondering if there was something he did wrong... ]
