Open: A girl's got her needs
Date & Time: 7th Sept, nighttime.
Location: General housing building and Unit 1006.
Characters: Seras Victoria + open
Summary: Seras is a vampire, vampires sleep in coffins. Seras tries to sneak a coffin in through the housing to her room; awkward questions and hilarity ensues. Your character is welcome to a) catch her in the halls or b) for roommates when she actually does manage to make it to 1006 :)
Warnings: None for now, will be edited if they come up.
[She's made it a week sleeping in a bed, or as later nights would attest, under it on the hard floor. It's been thirty years since Seras last slept in a bed, her Master had been quite insistent she use a coffin from the moment she first awoke as a vampire. In Siren's Port she'd had one, graciously given to her by Doctor Van Helsing, a rather beautiful and expensive creation - the man had been generous and kind to her indeed.
The one she's managed to procure now is not quite so nice, so expensive, but it is a coffin, comfortably lined and good enough to keep out all possible daylight when she sleeps. She probably could continue sleeping in a bed but it's just... not right anymore. She's used to coffins now, she likes them even.
So here she is, ready to try and get the thing up to her room with preferably no encounters with the other residents if she can manage it. She's waited until nightime and she's tried wrapping it up in a sheet but of course, when has she ever been that lucky?]

[He doesn't say it resentfully, exactly, but he does sound a little exasperated. Sure, he's landed in a sci-fi movie and all, but more and more he's starting to feel like one of the mooks.
Being a mook is never a good thing.
He does obligingly drop the drapery back on the furniture, though, blinking at her.]
I'm not one to judge, but what's up with your bookcase? That's some pretty gloomy modernism.
no subject
[Seras blinks her red eyes. Oh dear... what should she say?]
It fits my needs.
no subject
It takes all kinds, I guess... Hmmm, but couldn't they give you anything? There really wasn't anything else you wanted at all?
[He can't help asking, because he can't really fathom the idea of being offered superpowers or superweapons and turning it down. Then again, if you had too many superthings going on maybe you got confused or forgot your skillset or something.
She definitely looks a little like a video game character...]
no subject
[Why are you making conversation, Seras? You should be trying to get to your room. Damn her inherent politeness.]
no subject
Well, uh, yeah. It's not like I had superpowers or anything before I got here. Nothing supernatural about me at all.
[A beat.]
So I guess it's a good thing they give us something, right? I'm still on a trial run, though, kinda.
no subject
That's nothing to worry about. Humans can be quite strong even without powers.
What did you get?
no subject
[Seriously, he's talking to a weird girl with a coffin bookcase in the middle of the night, he's pretty sure that this should be freaky in some way, but she doesn't seem that bad.]
I got a motorcycle! It's supposed to have a mind of its own, but it's not much of a weapon so far. I guess I gotta train more...
[He sounds so enthusiastic, you don't even know.]
no subject
[She says this fondly, thinking of the humans she's known and of course dear Sir Integra. It's a little odd, it almost sounds like she's not counting herself as one of them.]
That sounds exciting.
no subject
Well, I guess... depends what you mean by resilient, Miss Philosophy.
[Quirking a grin.]
Well, it is pretty cool, havin' one, but it's more work than I thought... And I've got no idea where I'm supposed to fill up the tank, either. D'you think magic weapons need gas?
no subject
Philosophy! No, just... just a lot of experience. People are strong, they adapt.
[Seras gives a sort of half-shrug.]
That's something I don't have experience with, I'm afraid.
no subject
Ehh, that's pretty impressive, you don't look that old! Do you travel or something? [...] Er, I mean, back home.
no subject
[Try thirty years older. She smiles, waving her hand at his comment.]
Though thank you. Erm, I haven't much, just stuck to home in England.
... though I did go to Brazil once.
no subject
[Since he definitely got yelled at the last time he asked, and he was asking what was basically a girl-shaped computer program that time.]
... Oh. Wait, wasn't this England? [That's awkward.] That kind of sucks. I've never been to the Americas at all, but I guess I can say I've been to Europe now.
no subject
[She shakes her head a little.]
Are you Japanese?
no subject
[He tilts his head, peering out the window at the side of the stairwell. Is this a little bit of what the lady and her people used to see when they were home? It's a funny thing, thinking about looking through time and space.
He bobs his head at her question.]
Yep, you got me! The name's Naoya, Teshigawara Naoya! Just call me the shorter one.
no subject
[She laughs a little.]
I think I'll stick to Naoya, and please call me Seras.
no subject
no subject
How old are you?
no subject
[He huffs a little laugh, but puts on a slightly more sober face.]
Seriously, though, you want me to spot for you with that thing? It's gotta be pretty hard seein' your way up the stairs unless you also got X-ray vision.
Do you though?
no subject
[Excellent actually, it might as well be midday so far as Seras is concerned. But then... he really wants to help.]
Well alright, thank you.
no subject
[Yep, you might as well give up and give in. He's about as persistent as a burr -- just when you think you've picked it off...
He bounds up the steps to the next landing and waves from there.]
All right, then, let's do this! The sun's gonna come up if we're here much longer.
[He might wander out a little too late, but he actually does want to try sleep at some point.]
no subject
[She smiles and lifts up the 'bookcase', heading up the stairs after Naoya.]
It's not far now.
