Cometh the Big Crying Wheel

Location: A refurbished castle on the outskirts of Exsilium.
Characters: Anyone at the party!
Summary: Vanadi hosts a party that goes very poorly.
Warnings: Violence, probably! Let a mod know if we should update this.


It’s a lovely night for a party!

The venue at the outskirts of town is, unfortunately, a bit drafty — and actually rather sparsely furnished, as well. In fact, party goers are encouraged to mingle, drink, and enjoy themselves in the courtyard, as the castle itself wasn’t able to be renovated in time, and has proven to be a little bit architecturally unsound. Any explorative guests might find a small hail of dust and pebbles on their heads if they venture too far in — and who knows what else, if they continue on.

But the drinks and snacks both are plentiful and delicious, and the large canvas set up from castle wall to castle wall keeps off the sprinkling rain. The weather could even be described as warmish and pleasant, if one were feeling generous. A group of Exiles plays classic instruments in one corner of the courtyard, having been paid enough to even smile at any Transports that wander near.

All in all, it’s shaping up to be a good night. Until about 10 PM, that is. Come 10 PM, the Misery rolls into town, tearing down the canvas, nullifying powers, and crying corrosive blood everywhere. That’s the cue for all hell to break loose, as the final wave of mind-controlled characters snag their victims and make for the hills — or at least for the UE. The mind-controlled characters will also have the backup of a squadron of 20 of the Masked, the UE's special ops force. The Masked's main goal is to grab those on their list and get away, but they're certainly not above shooting to kill at anyone that gets in their way. They're also highly trained in hand-to-hand combat and physically enhanced by their suits, so they're a good bunch to try to avoid.

Leave him to--just what are you intending--

[Dammit, can't leave Allen here to take off after Lavi. These Exorcists, really!! Tying Allen up (because that's how Allen always wakes up from these situations) and picking him up over one shoulder, still checking where Lavi is headed.]

[ Sorry, he's not waiting around to listen. He's off to go after the kidnappees and to try and stop the Masked.

Don't you dare follow him!! ]

[debtor]

[GODDAMMIT, LAVI.

Allen remains insensate as Link ties and hauls him up, hanging limply over his shoulder, a deadweight. He's still a few minutes away from coming 'round, but it would probably be best to hurry.]

[Spares a last huff of exasperation for the both of them before turning and heading AWAY from ground zero as quickly as possible.]

[debtor]

[It's not very long before Allen begins mumbling against him and struggling, sluggishly.

Ow, god. He didn't feel the pipe at the moment of impact, but boy is he ever feeling it now. Feels like he's being hit by a whole army of pipes all at once, why is this.

Ugh. Everything hurts. What happened... And why is the ground bouncing, that's so unpleasant...]

La...vi?

[A voice from somewhere behind and to Allen's right:]

It's Link. Please keep still.

[Craning his neck to see, eyes unfocused in the dim light.]

Link...? [No, that doesn't make any sense, he'd been talking to Lavi...]

[debtor]

[Lavi.

That's right, Lavi'd hit him - to stop him from pursuing the Masked! Had Lavi gone after them, what happened to him?!

It's at this point that Allen realizes he can't move either of his arms properly because something's tied to them, and he does the exact opposite of keeping still.] No, no, I have to go back-!

[boundbydevotion]

[Jostles him on purpose so that his shoulder knocks some of the wind out of him.]

I cannot allow you to get yourself killed doing something foolish.

[Allen probably notices it before Link does, when they start to pass out of the reach of the Misery's nullification field.]

[debtor]

[He wheezes, and then goes... still...

He can feel his left arm again, a harsh prickling sensation running along the length of it as the limb's rudely awoken. His eye, too, he can see clearly now. Ignoring Link's admonition, he wriggles in his grip and puts the newly regained strength of his Innocence arm towards tearing the tie around his arms. His powers are back, nobody can tell him he can't fight now!]

Where is Lavi?!

[Noticing that renewed struggling with some alarm. A few more steps, and he decides it would be better not to allow Allen a chance to struggle at full strength, skidding to a stop and basically tossing him on the ground (though he makes sure it's not in such a way where he'll hit his head again).

His own seals are working again and he brings them out--only to hesitate at the sudden feeling of deja vu.]



--He's done precisely the thing that you mustn't, though unlike you he is at least well trained in fighting without his Innocence.

[debtor]

[Everything lurches and spins as Allen hits the ground with a grunt, his whole skull pounding. Disoriented, he turns himself over and struggles to his feet, either unaware of or undeterred by the seals.

He has had enough of this, he doesn't want to start this with Link now! He could have helped Lavi and instead he's been cast aside like a useless burden! His tone is desperate, voice unsteady,]

I have to go back for him, Link-- they're taking people!

[boundbydevotion]

I'm aware. [That tone of voice is all too familiar too, and he quashes back the wave of regrets--they aren't related to the current situation and he has damage control to do. He gestures, murmuring the spell, and the binding seals swarm Allen, sealing his arms to his sides and his legs together.

He moves to catch him.]

Be angry at me if you wish, I would prefer you wait until you have the backing of the organization that brought us here before you do anything dangerous, especially alone.
