Date & Time: Evening December 24
Location: Casa Borgia
Characters: Vanozza, her guests, guests of guests, and any party crashers
Summary: It's a Christmas party.
Warnings: It's a Borgia Christmas party.

Vanozza had been planning the dinner for weeks. Even with limited resources, she shines. Personalized invitations had been issued along with the gifts. Decorations had been strung up along the walls and to the backs of the chairs. An area had been cleared for dancing or mingling.

She had secured a bird, and a cook to roast and stuff it. Various other meat dishes accompany the main course atop the table decorated with a red tablecloth. Sweets there are to brighten the palate and she had even found some men who could sing and play the fiddle to provide music in return for being fed. What she does have plenty of is drinks. If experience has taught her one thing, the festivities would last until those run out.

She plays the charming hostess from before the first guest arrives until the very last leaves. She flits from person to person, group to group, verifying all is well and doing her best to smooth over most tensions. Christmas is for family, but in such trying times, the celebration must be for all.

There is no Christmas tree because the fuck is a Christmas tree anyway.

With well stocked supplies, camping gear, and more burlap sacks than anyone could possibly ever use, the Transports have been set under a protective dome and told to collect what they can... and to enjoy the sunshine.

Summary: Sometimes a patient gets bored and decides to go wandering through the clinic. Sometimes that patient happens upon an elf healer. Things happen.

As is usual lately, the infirmary buzzes with activity. Galadriel has a part of it, making her rounds swiftly and with little fuss, moving from patient to patient offering what relief she could. It wasn’t easy; even once the most critically injured had been stabilized, there was a great deal to be done. She had seen this before- the aftermath of battle. It’s always gruesome, always frantic. The songs never mention that- there’s little glory to be found in stitching up wounds. But healers fight a war of their own, in a way, and it is exhausting.

So Galadriel takes some time to herself- just a few moments to gather her thoughts and to rest. She would be of no use to anyone at all if she couldn’t think clearly. She sits in a quiet corner of a waiting area, resting her head in her hands and just listening to her surroundings, breathing in and out.

Summary: This is an open log for clinic interactions. Since the paging thread hasn't done what I hoped, let's try this instead.
Warnings: Possibly gross body stuff, otherwise nothing warningworthy should be happening here; people can take it to locked threads or museboxes if they really want to get frisky, yes?

Setting 1: Reception room

Can it really be called a waiting room? It's more a sitting-around room, a snacking room, a chatting room. There's a water cooler with disposable cups, and there are coffee table books instead of magazines. Among the books are a history of Exsilium, a study of architecture in Exsilium, and various public-health-information pamphlets of the same general provenance as that horrible VD comic book Anders distributed on Valentine's Day.

In an array of little bins on a sideboard, you can find:

wrapped hard candies
cat treats
wrapped toothbrushes
little tubes of toothpaste
packets of dental floss
condoms
tampons
adhesive bandages (Exsilium's version of band-aids)
single-dose packets of aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.

Setting 2: Staff lounge

There are couches in here for napping. There is also a refrigerator, and a coffee machine, and a water cooler, and a microwave, and a plate of rice krispy treats skinned over with plastic wrap.

One of the cupboards boasts a stash of high-protein snacks, courtesy of Isaac, who doesn't mind sharing.

Sometimes there is an orange cat on the couch. Sometimes there is no cat, but there is cat fur to show where he's been.

For them what already knows what they're here for and aren't wanting to thread waiting-room chitchat.

Summary: Separation Awareness Day is a festival and time of celebration for the hard won and retained freedoms of those who live on the island of Exsilium. Separate from the United Earth, they continue to exist, and thrive in their own way. As those identified as teenagers and children are showered with gifts of sweets, foods, and toys from the adult population, merchants are selling on the streets and color had invaded the often grey atmosphere. Feasting is practically a law, singing can be heard in the streets, and instruments that may stay safely indoors most the year are brought out to encourage dancing and such other frivolities as are rarely seen.

The night of the 14th there are fireworks shows throughout the city, with the most impressive display being launched from the remains of Buckingham Palace.

Summary: Fearing UE reprisal, the Initiative corrals all transports and shoos them onto a mission back to the Wild West, to vote Gerald "Moony" Jackson in as Mayor of Black Rock. Transports are encouraged to used all their wiles to encourage townsfolk to vote in favor of him, too. Other than that, they're free to roam as they will for 7 whole days! Good luck finding food and shelter, masses. (See the OOC post for more information.)

The Initiative had been terse and rushed as they gathered the transports into the Transporter room, and anyone unwilling to participate will have been forcibly hurried along. The Initiative employees had seemed distracted and worried, and unwilling to stand around and debate. It was time to move. The teleportation had gone off without a hitch, and a roomful of transports have been treated, quite suddenly, to a broad and sunny blue sky, and especially to the heat of mid July in the American West.

Enjoy your weeklong stay in Black Rock, New Mexico! The town is small and sleepy, with just 3 good saloons and one questionable (but considerably cheaper) one. There are a few inns, but these inns aren't quite prepared to room a sudden influx of over 300 travelers, and some people might have to bunk up or get creative with their sleeping arrangements. If you sleep in an inn at all, of course. There's plenty of unexplored wilderness out there to sleep in instead, isn't there? Just make sure to check your boots for scorpions in the morning.

The only instructions are "vote for Gerald "Moony" Jackson for Mayor, and try to convince others to do the same", and you've been given just enough money to cover a very sparse room and board for 7 days, if you don't spend it in anything else.

Welcome to Versailles.

The decorations are arranged, the food is prepared and laid out, the music has been rehearsed, and... most people have their costumes and masks ready. At precisely 1600, the Transporter machine activates, and a full room of people and all of their decorations, food, musical instruments, and costumes are sent back to 1772. The Palace of Versailles is in the height of its splendor, the weather is perfect and cloudless, and the gardens are in full bloom for the spring.
