Date & Time: 1/6, late morning
Location: Galadriel's house
Characters: Korra, Galadriel, Celeborn, Celebrian
Summary: A hiccup in the lesson plan, and meeting her trainer's family
Warnings: Mentions of post trauma and nightmares
With all the moving and exploring that's been happening since most of the Transports vacated the moon base, Korra's completely neglected the medical training she started with Galadriel before. Time to change that, she thinks. At least she isn't the only one who's been distracted by this snowier, unfamiliar Exsilium.
There's things she can actually do in this wintery landscape--a lot more than could on the moon base--but that doesn't mean she can't still learn and help while she's here. With that in mind, Korra sets out for Galadriel's home.

For Galadriel - The Nightmare
As she's thinking, she stifles a yawn and rubs at her eyes.

"I know how to prevent getting frostbite, but I should learn how to treat it, too." Korra's gaze slides to the side, avoiding Galadriel's. It's essential that she learn how to treat it normally, now that she can't use waterbending to heal victims of the snow anymore.

Now that Galadriel's daughter has said a few things that piqued Korra's interest, the curiosity is hard to ignore. The lessons before this had been introductory, and Korra hadn't even thought about asking about Galadriel's home world. Time to change that.

Korra isn't oblivious enough to miss that change in her trainer. Several things jump out at her--my people, for one--but with Celebrian's comments about elves' long life spans fresh in her mind, Korra can't help but wonder how long ago this was.
Your daughter...said that elves live a long time," Korra starts somewhat timidly. She'd meant to ask about her trainer's age already, but she's not so sure it's a good idea when Galadriel's wearing an expression like that.

Already, the hints of a smile return with Korra's unspoken question. "Unless we are slain or fade from grief, we will live until the unmaking of our world."

"We live until..." she stops abruptly, eyes widening. "Wait...you mean. You're immortal? How long ago was that trip across the frozen land for you?"

"How do you remember everything if you've seen that much?"

Her mouth clamps shut and an odd look passes over her face. "Let's just go back to the lesson," Korra eventually mutters, clumsily diverting her trainer's attention away from their original topic. Subtlety, not her strongest point.

Her lack of sleep starts catching up with her then and what starts as a few lulls in her concentration becomes her dozing off for longer periods of time. When she finally drifts off, she falls straight into a confusing collection of dreams that have become familiar to her.
Suddenly, Amon is there, looming over her, his hand reaching for her face. Korra feels a spike of panic and tries to twist away--
Back with Galadriel, she's slumped over, face twisted into a pained expression as she trembles.

Cautiously, she reaches down and places her hand on Korra's shoulder.
For Celeborn & Celebrian - General
After wandering around and looking at things curiously for a couple minutes, Korra seems to remember her manners. "Oh, right. I'm Korra," she says, glancing uncertainly at the person next to her. "Galadriel's training me in medical stuff. Are you Galadriel's...friend?"

Bri's letting her hair loose after spending the day wandering, visiting Fili and Kili and getting a bit of shopping done. When Korra introduces herself, she smiles and inclines her head.
"Well me, Korra. I am Celebrían." She can't help but laugh softly after. "Galadriel is my mother."
no subject
"But--! She looks way too young. I mean, you guys look almost the same age!" It's then that she realises she doesn't actually know how old Galadriel is, but there's something extremely fishy going on here...
no subject
"I assure you, she is my mother. Elves tend to live a very long time." Forever.

It's a term that Korra hasn't heard before, and she's intrigued. Hah, she'd known there was some kind of spiritual, unearthly feeling around Galadriel!

She nods towards Celeborn, whose hair was the same silver shade as her own. It's no surprise if Korra noticed something different about them. It's hard not to.

"Does being an elf automatically make you graceful and elegant?" Her hand slaps over her mouth a second too late. "Uhh y-you don't have to answer that. Unless you want to."
She might be horrified she'd said that out loud, but, seriously. The parent and daughter trio have a certain air about them that sets them apart from everyone else Korra's met.
no subject
"Perhaps not automatically but yes. I promise you, I was very clumsy and reckless as a child. I came home with my dresses torn and muddied more often than my parents could stand."
It probably didn't help that she was often running off and playing rough with some of the elflings at times or when her father didn't object to her wearing a dress while horseback riding.

Korra relaxes marginally. "At least you wore dresses," she says, joining Celebrian in her laughter. "I just wore...well, pretty much what I'm wearing now. It was a lot more comfortable when I was running around."
no subject
And she did make quite a sight when she was behaved, a young silver hair child dressed in the light flowing dresses her mother would choose for her.
"Don't let us intimidate you. Whatever we are, we are not unapproachable."
