A | [Kyouko doesn't give a damn about the mission, so she's decided to indulge in the local cuisine. It's not what most modern people would call "good" or "edible," but she's stuffing herself with biscuits and cookies and jerky and real fruit, not the fake hybrids they get back in Exsilium.

Today, she appears to be in a dispute with a local over the price of a jar of fruit preserves, and is getting pretty, well. Ornery, as it were. She looks like an angry red haired extra from Little House on the Prairie too, so this is twice as ridiculous.]

-That's way too much! I'm not paying for that!

[The shop owner is getting agitated. Maybe you should step in?]

B | [It's nighttime out in the wilderness! Given Kyouko has probably blown most of her money on horrible frontier food, she's roughing it out in the great outdoors. There's corn roasting on hot coals near her, and she's either keeping an eye on it, stargazing, or pensively cupping her Soul Gem in her hands to warm them.

She's quieter than usual, and a little solemn. Maybe she's calm enough to offer a stranger some of her corn, or anything else out of her small little reserve of preserved food. Or maybe she's chill enough to make conversation. It's hard to say.]

[Homura, by all appearances, blinks into existence about three inches behind a stargazing Kyouko and about a foot to her right. She'd barely arrived in Exsilium when she'd been whisked away to this strange world on a mission, and so she had not had time to establish (re-establish?) contact with those from her own world.

A | [Utena's pretty psyched about this new mission: it's the first real one she's been on since her arrival, and the Wild West is exciting to her rather than frightening. The cloaking device has changed her hair to a lovely golden blonde, but she's still easily distinguishable. Her outfit is pretty accurate...were it not for the fact that she's wearing mens' clothing, something that's earning her a lot of odd looks. It fits her well enough — the shirt is a little too long in the arms and baggy in the chest, and the jeans have some bunching near the knees, but she actually doesn't look bad. The boots at least fit, as does the cowboy hat she's found.

She's all gungho about helping with the voting, but the fact of the matter is, not many people pay attention to girls in this day and age, particularly younger ones. After a while of playing nice and getting a lot of "little ladies" and condescending "sweethearts," our heroine is getting kind of pissed off, and so is about to make a display of herself.

Loudly, she's trying to get some of the would-be voters attention in the middle of town.]

Hey! Hey, over here! —Jeez, are you even listening?

[If you're dressed like a local, it's possible she may mistake you for one, and grab your arm to get your attention, heedless to any potential gunfights or danger or anything of the sort.]

B | [Night has fallen, the sky is painted with stars, and Utena has found a harmonica. She's set up a tent for herself and Anthy, and is fumbling with the little musical instrument, trying to get a decent enough song out of it. She's still wearing her cowboy hat too, tilted over her eyes. She thinks she looks cool as hell, seriously.

When she's not doing this, she's watching the stars. If anyone bothers to make conversation with her about it, they might be surprised to note she knows quite a bit about them. She points out a few here and there.

And if neither of those options strike your fancy, maybe you might want to help her make a fire? She doesn't seem to be doing the best job at it, and unfortunately she doesn't have any magical powers to help her along.]

[Asuka's certainly dressed like a local, but there's no disguising the firey red hair that she positively refuses to do away with. It marks Asuka as Asuka and it'll be a cold day in Hell before she gives it up. She's noticed Utena trying to wave people down and she sidles, arms folded and looking somewhere between disgruntled and amused. She actually didn't recognize Utena at first, considering she's lacking the bright pink hair.]

(A) Aveline fits in well here, actually, playing the part of a lady very well. Her accent is what gives her away, the hint of French from the southern bayou nothing she can disguise. But her outward appearance to most of the locals is that of a woman in a dress in the mornings, eager to listen to tall tales and jokes. She laughs with the best of them, all the while paying very close attention to the rumors she hears.


(B) A very different looking woman takes her place at night, hidden from the natives of the town. An assassin is an assassin in all ways and at all times, and she makes good use of her surroundings. She feels much more comfortable in her traditional garb and she takes advantage of the night to hide her movements. You may or may not hear her on a rooftop as she spies on people.

[I'm hallucinating.

Those are Oliver Queen's first thoughts upon arriving to a city and then being thrown into a spaghetti western movie an hour later.

I'm hallucinating. It's the pain.

Sure, they did him the favor of taking out the arrows and sure, they did him the favor of bandaging him up but they said they didn't really have the time to afford him further attention. So they shoved him into Black Rock, New Mexico and told him good luck, get some votes.

Wearing his uniform made moving while injured in the crazy heat difficult, so you might spy him stumbling a bit and sitting down for a few moments before moving on to find clothes that weren't this.

That and something to hide his bow, quiver and arrows. These guys are making it way too difficult.

After maybe an hour or so, he finally gets himself some decent clothing and a canvas bag big enough to hide his uniform and weaponry. He's putting on a brave face, but honestly, it's kind of painful to walk. Maybe some whiskey would help... though he'd be too stupid to pass up some exploring, really.]

Yep. That look. The look of a person, usually male or male identifying, walking around when they should be sitting down and possibly hooked up to an IV. Someone suffering injuries that aren't quite as healed as they need to be fore walking around, let alone exploring.

Really, she's been wondering what this man's been intending to do since he first stumbled along, out of place. He's managed to get himself a decent set of clothing now, but that general look has only changed from dramatically out of place to less dramatically out of place.

She leaves the respite of the sleepy shadows to stroll down his way. She knows what her image should be saying to natives; to anyone from Exsilium, she's a kid in tight black pants, a cream half-skirt, and a button-up shirt that's covering her arms to keep the worst of the sun off them. Pink hair was just another detail, sticking out from the very real hat on her head. )

Are you sure you should be walking around right now, sir? Exacerbating injuries is a sure way of ensuring you set back your own recovery in the long term.

( She hooks a thumb into a loop of her half-skirt. It's for outward show, unlike the concern on her face. She shouldn't get sucked back into this. She wasn't part of an official group addressing injuries for any one group of people. She didn't need to be.

Jesse Pinkman | anywhere | OPEN

[Jesse's home. One hundred and twenty-six years separate him from the New Mexico he remembers, but this desert never changes and he knows it more than he cares to. He's been to Black Rock before. The town itself looks nothing like it does in his time, but he recognizes the hills to the north where train tracks will someday be laid. Or maybe they're there already, in some antiquated form. He gets chills when he looks in that direction. He has crazy thoughts of abandoning the Transports and heading up that way, maybe with a few sticks of dynamite, to make his own change to the past. To destroy whatever track might be laid, to fix something that desperately needs fixing.

But when he's honest with himself, he doesn't think he'll be able to find the exact location. And destroying a train line this far back in the past will probably do nothing to affect 2010. They'll just rebuild it in a decade.

Jesse gets on well with the locals. He easily convinces them he's a local, too - since he is - and that makes him a preferred guest. He gets a room all to himself at the best inn in town and he's at the saloon downstairs every morning, sweet-talking the innkeeper's wife over eggs and beer. He pays for everything with exotic jewelry - the gold he stole off corpses in Russia.

After his meal, he heads out to the desert. Every day, it's the same thing, although he finds a new spot each time to climb and sit and stare northward. When he thinks he's alone, he curls up and cries until his head hurts. When the sun sets, he takes a hit of meth to re-energize himself, walks back to town while gazing at the stars, then finds a girl to fuck for the night.

He doesn't care about this stupid vote.]

[It's almost night, and Isaac needs to run. Not as badly as if the full moon was almost up, but he has to admit a natural setting has energized him. It's a good, clean restlessness, unlike what he feels in Exsilium.

But still, he's alone, and part of the reason he runs is to forget that. So Isaac is distracted, and if his senses weren't so acute he might have stumbled across Jessie to his own complete surprise. As it is, he has just enough time to stop before he runs into the other man.]

Oh! I didn't expect to find someone else out here--

[He's suspiciously not out of breath, though his shirt is well damp with sweat and the braid his hair was in before the run started is on its last legs.]

Lilith, 3rd day onward, anywhere, open!

[Lilith hadn't really considered the fact that, after her grand reveal, she was going to have to stick to being all fiery and stuff. It wouldn't have really worked out as well, convincing everyone that she was an angel and all, if she just vanished.

So, during the day and night, Lilith can be found walking around town as her fiery angel self. It's pretty warm near her, even hotter than it is already, but people still flock to her every now and again to speak with her and get her blessings and all that. Lilith does her job very well, if a bit awkwardly.

Otherwise, she's still easy to approach, as the townspeople have gotten it into their heads that they should not bring their squabbling to God's Angel of Fury lest they... well, bring on her fury.

She also happens to be incredibly easy to find, with the glowing and all. Maybe your character has gotten into some trouble, and needs divine intervention? Or they're just curious who the flaming angel is?]

[The glowing is foreign to Ezio, enough to catch his attention and to investigate. Glowing people never bode well for him before and he doubts it would be much different now.

Yet this time it is different. He recognizes the woman and, quite frankly, there's a puzzled expression on his face. There are people going to her, asking to bless them, for some kind of intervention to help kick the naysayers out of their stores. What in the world...?]

[Ophelia thinks this whole thing is pretty stupid, frankly. Traveling back in time and then just voting for some guy and hoping he wins? Why not just take over the damn town and make sure he wins? But no one else shared her commitment to change through violence, so she's not bothering to help at all. Oh, she'll show up and vote, but that's it.]

[So her time is being sent as it should. Getting drunk, and getting into fistfights. At the moment she's sitting at a table in one of the taverns, her hologram making her look like a local woman with dark hair in a pair of cowboy pants and a blouse (screw skirts), her feet up on a table as she drinks a beer and smirks at anyone who happens to go by.]

[Raz on the other hand, thinks this is AWESOME. He'd always wanted to be a cowboy. Well, he'd always wanted to be a Psychonaut, but 'cowboy' would have been an acceptable thing to fall back on. Being 10, there wasn't a whole lot Raz could do in the way of being taken seriously by the citizens of the town, and he certainly wasn't allowed in any of the taverns. But he had always wanted to see the inside of a real wild west bar, so he turned himself invisible and slipped through the entrance unnoticed. Everything was going just as planned until he tripped on a random passerby's foot and faceplanted on the floor by the table Ophelia happened to be sitting at, his invisibility flickering out as he landed.]

Asuka doesn't particularly want to be here. She thinks the whole affair is a waste of her time and it shows in how she treats the briefing and then promptly goes off on her own once they arrive in town. She finds a room as quickly as she can and settles in for however long they're meant to be there. But she gets bored of just sitting in her room and staring at the walls. She can't even properly use the network to harass people, so she eventually goes out. Not that there's much to do for a fourteen-going-on-fifteen year old from the 21st century. She's usually found settled on one of the wooden sidewalks, poking at the dirt with a stick and looking incredibly bored by the whole affair.

Alternatively, she pokes around the saloon a bit. Even after she gets tossed out the first time for being: a) too young and b) a woman.

Larsa's good at persuasion, especially when he cranks up the charm. which, well. he does. the only thing that's familiar about him is his voice and mannerisms, it seems--his disguise is thorough, leaving only his earrings as part of his old attire. gone is the white and blue that he usually wears in the Hold, replaced by brown and black and red. he still wears stockings and his breeches are as tanned as his hat, as are his worn boots; he seems to have accumulated a layer of dirt, as well, as he traipses all over town. his hair just gets messier and messier the more time he spends outside, chasing down his hat as it's blown off by the wind or when he has to fan himself with it.

the food he eats he gets from particularly generous swayed voters. the tiredness shows on Larsa's face the more he works; he keeps his voice pepped up and smiles as charmingly as he can while twisting words and persuading to the best of his ability. he knows how to complete this mission like the back of his hand, but he knows better (feels better) than to use it for his own gain. when asked what kind of parents leave their child unattended, his eyes dart to the ground as he tries to fight off a frown, leaving him with a particularly fumbling and flustering swayed voter that will do most things to make him smile again. that isn't an act.

there is, however, the occasional disgruntled individual. Larsa presses too far and when they're about to lash out physically for his trouble, Larsa is quick to start backing up near the nearest adult Transport he can. he's unarmed, and doing any sort of magic during this mission would seem to be something bad, indeed.

one can find him almost everywhere, from the streets to the pubs, speaking or listening closely to conversations whilst participating in what the locals seem to call 'games'--games of luck and chance and strategy, some with pieces, some with cards.

but after a long day, he retreats to a small room to himself. logically, sharing a room with another would mean more money for all, but he'd... rather stay by himself for the week. at times, he leaves the room and walks along the paths at night, quiet and restless. ]

Normally, Grey Wardens don't get involved in politics, but this isn't exactly Ferelden. And the outcome here is more about who leads a country, but about ultimate victory over a powerful enemy.

So despite his misgivings, he does his best to do a little campaigning. The problem is that he's not naturally sociable, and although he has his father's penchant for leadership, he's no politician.

He can be seen wandering through the main part of town, occasionally trying to talk to some of the locals, but mostly taking in his surroundings, taking note of all of the fascinating things this new time period has to offer.

Wherever you see him he is likely keeping to himself, but at the saloon he can sometimes be found laughing a rusty laugh and drinking with the other townfolk.]

A: [Once the shock of arriving in the past has faded off, Shinji begins to make plans for staying here. Unfortunately, he seems to have bad luck in trying to rent a room--they're all full up and there's none left for him. He'll have to somehow make do in the wilderness.

The streets are scary and dangerous. No way is he staying there. But he doesn't want to wander too far out either--no telling what animal would eat him.

So with the money he's got, he buys a tent. Just outside of town, you might find Shinji struggling to put it up. He's not making very good progress.]

B: [Mission? What mission? Shinji's been hiding out in his tent instead of exploring. But hunger is a powerful motivator, so with a carefully rationed amount and an empty belly, he heads into town to see if he can buy some food.

Unfortunately, his search leads him to a saloon, the last place he wants to be at. He looks incredibly uncomfortable and out of place as he sits in the corner, nursing his meager meal.]

[There seemed to be an almost lighter air around Elza as she sat towards the end of a saloon. She still hadn't joined in with trying to convince others, but the gunner seemed to have accepted her position here more than when they'd all first been forced to this western town.

She nursed a large glass of ale in her hand where she sat quietly staring at the amber liquid within. If somebody looked closely, they might even see that there was a satisfied smile on her lips, regardless of how subtle it was.

It looked as though she was actually in the mood for company.]

[ one thing's for sure: riku loves the heat.

disguised as he is, his silver hair turns black as night, although his piercing seagreen eyes remain. decked out in old jeans and button-down shirts, riku doesn't quite mind this mission at all.

you can find him basking in the sun's rays every now and then, but he participates in horse riding just as well. he's always wanted to learn, after all... and this place--it's like nothing he's seen before. there's more and more reason to explore the wilderness as much as he can.

besides. he's not good at persuading. he tries once or twice, but meets glares and sniffs of derision, so he thinks to just... keep to himself.

there is... one thing, though.

when treading into a shop, he finds a frustrated shopkeeper, packing up an instrument. with a bit of bartering, he's walking out with a slightly beaten saxophone. it's been a little more than forty years since they were first made--so he doesn't think of it much, but with some prep, he does start to play it. it sounds sweet, and attracts some attention...

... so, if he can use this to benefit their cause for the moment, he'll play the pied piper. he's out and plays quite often with his saxophone all over town, stopping in a saloon every now and then. money is sparse; he could use a little bit to quench his thirst, though he gives the other to other transports. playing a supportive role is just as important. ]

First rushed like so much of a farmer's herd into the room, without so much say at all, no matter how much he tried to protest or ask questions, and then quite suddenly, they had been whisked off. Blue stretched over them, broad and without end, suddenly, and with it came the sweltering heat and the smell of dust and sweat, and horse manure. The latter two drifted in from the town nearby. Frodo's nose wrinkled.

The reaction was belated, but still strong enough; Frodo's stomach gave an uneasy somersault. This was not how anyone was meant to travel; one was meant to see where they were going, rather than just appear.

The town looked as if it had sprung up in the least desirable spot he could see. Very much, he thought, like a particularly insistent weed that was going to stay where it was no matter what Sam tried, for who would build their homes in the middle of such an inhospitable place? The town was not particularly attractive to him, but it was life that had taken to the desert and remained.

Now then. Who was Gerald Jackson and why should the others vote for him? It was not nearly enough for Frodo to be told that this was what he had to do; what if Gerald was a bad sort, the type to make those around him miserable for his own gain? Better to find out more about the town, its people, and this Moony Jackson first. And this was no unwanted task to the hobbit; looking around at the Big Folk wandering the street, the strange dress a good deal of them wore, the odd devices at a good deal more's hips, and the horses and coaches rattling around. This was a rare chance many hobbits wouldn't have.

At the beginning of the week, Ico was all around the town. He wanted to learn as much as he could about the place and the people here. Some people were friendly and some were not. Most did not listen to what he had to say about Gerald Jackson. Eventually his curiosity would cross the wrong person. One of the worst encounters happened when Ico ventured too close to someone's horse. The owner accused Ico of attempting to steal it. Nothing Ico said convinced him otherwise and he would not let Ico simply leave.

B:
Regardless if Ico decided to stay at an inn or purchase a tent, he knew he would not have enough money for food. For the next few days, he ventured out of the town to hunt. He brought his bow and arrows. He had little experience hunting. It was different from catching small creatures like birds and squirrels. At first, the animals would see him before he could get a clear shot. However, he did not give up and he was not angry. There were more animals out there and he felt as if he learned something new each time.

C:
After a successful hunt, he brought the animals back into town. He thought that if all the Transports had as little money as he did, then others would need food, too. Therefore, he looked for faces he knew or those who were obviously Transports to ask if they wanted an animal that he caught. Typically, he brought in rabbits and birds.

Kanji was over a ways, looking for supplies for his own plan for the week when he spotted a kid being harassed by some guy. That pissed him right the hell off. No way was he going to let someone get treated like that.

So he walked over, looking serious and more than a little angry. "Hey, punk! Leave him alone. He wasn't doin' nothing."

He didn't know that for sure, but hell if he could figure out what the kid could have been doing.

Mei | Open all week!

[A: This is so weird. She's discussed the whole time travel deal with a few people before, and it never made sense then. But coming to a different time (on presumably a different world), really puts everything in perspective.

So for the first day, she's kind of running around town, peeking into window shops, saloons, you name it. Mei's never been in a Wild West movie before, and although the atmosphere and surroundings do remind her of select places in Unova, she really feels like she needs to fit in. That was an important aspect of missions, right?

So, time to hunt for some clothes! Even though the hologram's mostly taken care of her appearance (appearing the same age, with her hair down and a pleasant, modest dress), she wouldn't mind taking a souvenir home if she could...

B: that the clothing issue has been taken care of, it's time to get to work! And that means standing on the corner and trying to convince people.

Although very few locals are actually taking Mei seriously. She's too young to even vote for herself, therefore grabbing very little attention. This is not going to be easy at all.

C: Time for some downtime. While she has made arrangements to stay in a room somewhere, the teen's actually using the evening to explore a bit, mostly the outskirts of town. It's where she's also letting Hibiscus out for some fresh air (having been held up in her Pokeball all day was making the grass snake a little impatient and edgy).

Anyone might find her in some of the dustier or rockier areas of town. She may just be trying to find a good spot to do some training, or she might even be looking for fossils!]

[He felt bad. Really bad. Guilt was a feeling he was already well accustomed to, but it washed over him again with the terse actions and ushering by the Initiative. He wanted to say something, apologize, offer to help again, but he also didn't want to speak up. If they knew he was the one behind all of this, things might get worse. They might send him away to never come back. They could do so much to him, and he wouldn't even blame them. He wasn't thinking when he launched those rocks, maybe- maybe he could apologize somehow.

If only he could actually be of use on this mission. Unfortunately, his "human disguise" was of a race that was not well respected in this time period and location, whatever an "asian" was. Something he is already used to as a yellowblood of Alternia, but not great for also convincing others to see things his way. This was especially difficult, considering his lisp, his age, and his weakness to the sunlight outside...

He was so horribly useless, and he knew it. There wasn't much to do, except to mope around the small town at night. Unless he came up with an idea to get people to vote for "Moony." But how...]

[Disciple has taken to wandering the town at night as well - not a very good idea, as she'd found out the first couple of times she was accosted, but after leaving a couple of people shaken and begging for their lives word had spread and she was left alone now.

And alone she is when she comes across Sollux, his looks familiar to her even if his age most certainly isn't - ah, the other yellowblood who hadn't taken very well to meeting the Helmsman. She really hadn't expected him to be more than just a yellowblood, though - really, how many descendants could there even be in this place?!

She knows it's not exactly a good idea to approach a psionic who may think you're hostile, but he looks so miserable and dispirited than she can't help herself.]
