Date & Time: Jan 12th to Jan 19th (real time), July 11th to July 18th (historical time), 1884
Location: Black Rock, New Mexico, USA
Characters: All transports
Summary: Fearing UE reprisal, the Initiative corrals all transports and shoos them onto a mission back to the Wild West, to vote Gerald "Moony" Jackson in as Mayor of Black Rock. Transports are encouraged to used all their wiles to encourage townsfolk to vote in favor of him, too. Other than that, they're free to roam as they will for 7 whole days! Good luck finding food and shelter, masses. (See the OOC post for more information.)
The Initiative had been terse and rushed as they gathered the transports into the Transporter room, and anyone unwilling to participate will have been forcibly hurried along. The Initiative employees had seemed distracted and worried, and unwilling to stand around and debate. It was time to move. The teleportation had gone off without a hitch, and a roomful of transports have been treated, quite suddenly, to a broad and sunny blue sky, and especially to the heat of mid July in the American West.
Enjoy your weeklong stay in Black Rock, New Mexico! The town is small and sleepy, with just 3 good saloons and one questionable (but considerably cheaper) one. There are a few inns, but these inns aren't quite prepared to room a sudden influx of over 300 travelers, and some people might have to bunk up or get creative with their sleeping arrangements. If you sleep in an inn at all, of course. There's plenty of unexplored wilderness out there to sleep in instead, isn't there? Just make sure to check your boots for scorpions in the morning.
The only instructions are "vote for Gerald "Moony" Jackson for Mayor, and try to convince others to do the same", and you've been given just enough money to cover a very sparse room and board for 7 days, if you don't spend it in anything else.
So, how do you spend your time?
Edit: Overflow log!

Blaine | Open to All
B [ He's staring at the large animal, one horse that is staring back as it chews. Then he turns on his heel to walk away. ] Nope.
C [ Aww yeah, six shooter. This is more his style. Or it should be, but revolvers weren't known for their accuracy back in the day. He's sitting on a rock out in the desert with a skin of water on one hip and some bullets on the ground next to him. He spins the wheel then closes it. Some rocks and discarded bottles are on the ground a few paces away. ] Alright, let's see.
D [ Blaine's at the local bar/brothel, talking to a few of the guys, a woman sitting in his lap. He's smiling and drinking, but if you get closer you can hear that he's talking politics. About one Gerald "Moony" Jackson, who's strange as hell, but that other guy? He's suspicious as hell. What's he going on about? ]
C
So she spent her time mostly on the outskirts of town, which was why she had caught sight of another Transport heading out into the desert. Her pale gaze followed his leave moments before she began trailing after him. Finding the man seated out within the desert, the gunner stopped a good few feet away.]
Think that you can shoot one of those things?
no subject
He looked at, hat providing shade so he could see her clearly.]
We're about to see. I haven't worked with anything this old.
[His own gun from his timeline was in his shoulder holster barely hidden by those silly vests cowboys wore.]

Then perhaps you'll give me a demonstration. [A statement more than a question.]

He spotted Blaine with a smile, and thankful for the sun, he was more interested in the inventions and what he could take back than politics. "It is hot but manageable." Lee's spurs chimed with his approaching steps.

Dirt paved streets never did well against the hot sun and the smell of horse droppings. He was also careful about the cologne and not to use too much of it. That alone would be a heady disaster.

[Where did he come from? How can anybody be stealthy in broad daylight wearing a cowboy hat and boots and a leather duster? Maybe it's blend-initude. Maybe he's just that good.
He falls into step with him, looking right at home in the heat.]
Riding is obviously out. Where are you off to now?
no subject
[And he hadn't even touched it. Blaine looked forward towards the desert.]
Just a quick trip out into the desert. What about you?
no subject
I suppose for the time being I'm going your way unless this quick trip involves a bodily function.

B!
[Emily was fanning herself as she walks along, when she sees this blond weirdo look at a horse and the horse look at him. Staring contest?
No wait, he's totally walking away.]
Wait, that's it?
no subject
Is what it?
no subject
You just stared at the horse and...then went "Nope" and headed off.

Simmaeri's not afraid of such behavior, but she's hardly pleased to have her path blocked by six feet of burly, surly, not-nearly-charming-as-he-thinks-he-is off-duty rancher. so young. a foolish little thing, practically sweating out his drink. the smell is very potent.
the slurring doesn't enhance his comprehensibility, but she hardly needs a dictionary to get where he's trying to go with this.]
No. I will leave.
[though moving a hand to push him aside doesn't do much of the trick.]
no subject
[She slid off his lap with a pout, but her attention easily slipped to another man nearby. Blaine walked towards the altercation with the tiniest of curls to his lip that was a mockery of a smile.]
Simmaeri~ [And he slid up next to her.] Need some help?
no subject
how kind of him to offer such help. Simmaeri doesn't miss a beat in slipping her arm through his – a very plain statement for many places, not hint enough for many others.]
Hello, Blaine.
[her words are all but drowned out by the vulgar spurt of protest from the drunkard.
ah. the smell.]
