[Ollie tries to hide the look of surprise when he hears his own voice altered, distorted, just like when he spoke to Laurel...

[She steps out so she's completely visible, as much as it annoys her to do so, hands already raised in a don't shoot gesture, although she's not particularly concerned. Judging by the way he's holding that bow, she could dodge before he could loose an arrow.

The voice modulation is new (old?) but it doesn't throw her off too much. The fact he's so damn young, obvious now that he's facing her, is a little harder for her to process.]

An ally. [Her expression, what's visible of it beneath her cowl, is a careful neutral despite her surprise] My name's Batgirl, I... know you, back home.

[Would he know of Batgirl, yet? She doesn't know enough about when he started operating as GA to work it out.]

I don't know any Batgirls.

[Pretty sure he would've remembered someone in that kind of uniform... He's not about to tell this girl that he has very few allies.

How did she know Green Arrow? It was an awful name jab in passing by Tommy's father... a wiretap? ]

[Well, that answers that question]

That's 'cause we haven't met each other yet. [if by 'met' she means 'I was at your autopsy', but you know] I think I'm from your future.

[That comes out kind of bluntly, thanks to the simple fact she's not sure how else to explain how she knows him, and she'd really like him to not treat her like an enemy. She might not know Green Arrow very well, but he's a friend of Bruce's (using "friend" loosely), which means she's willing to trust him a little more than she'd trust anyone else here.]

[He wants to raise his bow higher but it hurts way too much to do it.]

[Even if she is from the future, which can't be possible, he would've heard or known of other uniformed people, especially someone who goes by the name 'Batgirl.']

[Ollie narrows his eyes, finally letting his bow slack.]

[If all this was real, that would mean... he was still acting as The Hood in what... ten years?]

[She relaxes too, now that there aren't any arrows pointing at her, though she makes sure to keep her hands where he can see them.]

Twenty. [A lie, but only by a few months.] I was trained by Black Canary.

[She knows for sure that Dinah should be operating back then, and she knows a little bit about her history with Ollie, enough to hope mentioning her name will earn Steph some credibility.]

[It doesn't ring any bells. None at all. In fact, it makes him wary.]

How many vigilantes do you know?

[No she wanted the opposite of this.]

Personally? Like... twenty. But there's at least a hundred of us. [Between the JSA, JLA, Teen Titans and Outsiders, there's more than enough vigilantes. And that's not even counting people who work alone.

And because Steph isn't stupid, she considers how Ollie is reacting, and takes a guess at why.] You don't know any, do you?

[If his facial expression looked calm and cool, it's visibly confused now.]

[And Helena, but that's... that's another story.]

Starling...? [what] You're from Star City, last I checked. [She's not going to mention the current state of Star City. One thing at a time.] And there really aren't any other heroes? Not even Superman?

[She can't comprehend a lack of Clark.]

[He doesn't know if to start aiming at her again or not.]

Well, the truth from my perspective. [she pauses, chewing on her lip as she tries to work all this out] I'm gonna guess this is one of those alternative universe tihngs, which are so above my paygrade.

[That's for the Justice League to deal with, not Batgirls.]

[This girl's the closest lead to answers, and they're making absolutely no sense. But she really isn't lying, he can tell.]

You sound like this isn't new to you.

[She knows it's too much to expect him to trust her, but she keeps explainging in the hope that he'll at least consider her a potential ally]

I don't have personal experience, but I know they exist. My best friend has an alternate version of herself in our world, and another of my friends was killed by an evil, alternate version of his dad.

[a beat] I know it sounds crazy when I put it like that, but I'm not making it up.

I don't think I have much of a choice in what to believe and what not to believe.

[This is starting to sound like a sci-fi book.]

But I don't think you're lying. [It's too complicated and too specific what she's saying for it to be entirely made up.]

[She smiles, both relieved that he believes her, and sympathetic for having to deal with all the ridiculousness that is alternate universes and time travel in a short period of time. At least she grew up with it.]

I'd say it gets easier, but then I actually would be lying.

[She's not sure if this is a good idea, but she'd rather get it out of the way now.]

[She knows what it's like to have that secret taken away without a choice, so she does actually feel a litte guilty.]

[He sighs. If she knows... well, there's not much of a point to keep the hood on now. He pulls it off to reveal a distinctly young-looking man of around 25 with a very well trimmed beard of sorts and green face paint slathered across his eyes.]

Guess that's over with now.

[His voice is back to normal now which is... really bizarre.]

[He didn't deny that he was Green Arrow, but she's just going to double check, see ow he reacts to the name and go from there.]

[This alternate dimension thing is really going to be a pain in the ass, huh?]

[She watches him for a moment longer, then apparently having made her decision, she pushes her cowl back from her face, giving a smile]

Stephanie. Good to meet you.

[He puts the arrow away, leaving him with only his bow in hand.]

Is there a place I can rest a while? Get something looked at?

[If she'd been here a little while longer, maybe there was some kind of setup by The Initiative somewhere.]

I've got no fucking idea. [Well, that answers that question]

There are inns, you might be able to get a room if you're lucky. [She hasn't missed how shaky he is] What do you need looked at?

Right. Thanks.

[He sighs. Even that's a bit difficult to do right now.]
