[Sollux enjoys few things during his time in New Mexico. Among those few things are sitting and/or sleeping in the darkness until the sun sets, becoming even more of a recluse and nocturnal than he already was before, despite his now human appearance. And two, whining. Not that he didn't always whine a lot, he's especially miserable now with this heat and the sun and the little food and the all too blatant racism surrounding him right now in this human flesh than he had before as an alien.

Visits from Feferi were a reprieve, and while most of the time she spent fetching things for him or food or other things, he still was glad to see her. ]

[ She pulls him into a loose hug and gives him a little peck, just in greeting. ]

[ He'd had a bad week, so she hesitates before she actually asks him, but she has to! She can't not. ]

Well... it took a while to get it all figured out but, this place is really close to where I used to be. And I kind of wanted to go visit it, but I can't get there on foot, and...

[ She heaves a sigh and opts to stop pussyfooting around it. ]

Could you take me there? You could fly us faster than I could walk. I don't know what will be there, but I want to know.

No, actually. I know he won't be. He won't be there for a long, long time, if this is even the right Earth. I don't think anyone actually lives there right now, I had to figure it out by looking at the rivers on the maps.

[ And she's pretty serious about that too. ]

[ Hugging Sollux tight, Feferi brings up a hand to gently stroke his hair and rub around the base of his horns, just trying to relax him a little. ]

[It works. Feferi always seems to have a nice calming effect on him.]

I don't know if you can really promise that. I don't blame them for wanting to punish me. I brought it on.
