Date & Time: March 7th, shortly after the AI's final transmission
Location: The apartment that is elf-central
Characters: Galadriel and Celeborn
Summary: Two parents discuss the possibility of sharing a terrible truth with their daughter
Warnings: Possible mentions of/allusions to torture, lots of elf family feelings
Home.
It’s amazing how powerful a single word can be. For a good while, Galadriel had simply been reeling from the AI’s announcement, thinking of what this would mean- for her, her friends, her family.
…Her family.
That was the problem. She had, somehow, managed to spare Celebrian the truth of her fate all this time; there had been no purpose in her knowing. But now- now.
If she knew, she could avoid the attack.
Galadriel had always believed that the Initiative had been foolish to attempt to alter what has been. It had been reckless, she thought. But this was the chance for which she had wished so long ago- the chance to save her daughter. To spare her pain and suffering. How could she possibly refuse it? And what harm could come of it? But some part of her was still uncertain. And besides, the choice is not hers alone to make.
From her seat on the couch, she could see her husband out of the corner of her eyes, busying himself with something. She wasn’t sure what. After a moment of hesitation, she turned in his direction, calling to him.
“Celeborn? Do you have a moment?”
