Summary: Getting some apartment antics in to balance kidnappings and war

It is by a mystery of good luck, and lines of coincidence, that apartment 304 had avoided the disaster of Flynn's cooking. The destroyed kitchen made takeout a long necessity until allowance from the Initiative and Rosette's extremely modestly paying job could actually manage a functional workstation. After that, convenience and snark had kept Chrono in the kitchen.

Today, oh today, however, Flynn had gotten in there before Chrono had returned from his day of errands and training. The most delicious smell Rosette had ever known in recent memory wafts from their patchwork, barely functional kitchen. Their ingredients were sparse, food being a limited resource, and most of what meat they found and purchased went to Fluffy.

Somehow though... somehow.... Could it be? Rosette gets up and wanders towards the kitchen.

"Taste test! Me first!"

Well it IS good cooking too!

[She'll need that luck. After Fluffy starts tucking into his, she jumps up and grabs her plate, flopping into a chair. She mutters a condensed, extremely hurried and not entirely accurate blessing over the meal, ending with a loud:]

GRACE! AMEN!

[Before hurriedly diving into her meal. The thing about human sensation is that a large portion of initial taste is actually shared by the same nerves in interpretation as smell.

Which allows the first few bites to go down with zeal and relish before she. She seems to freeze, her eyes widening with alarm.]

[Chrono has always been the more reserved of the duo (and a very hungry lion, evidently), which is why he's only one spoonful into the soup when the warning signs come together to spell betrayal.

He lowers the spoon very carefully, staring askance at the beautiful arrangement before him. It looks so good, smells so good, how...!

His vision swims for a moment, and he wonders, distantly, if this is what shock feels like. He's not sure the taste has actually hit him yet.]

[ Flynn wonders what their reactions mean. Was it not satisfactory? He scrunches up his eyebrows a bit... ]

[amid the silent, wide-eyed, stomach-swirling shock of the bipeds, Martin gurgles a sound – trying to breathe and keep licking the plate clean the way a hungry dog would.

he licks his chops loudly, lifting his head and looking up with wide eyes. is there more?]

[ Flynn catches Fluffy's eyes and instantly smiles. He knows that look. He supposes his food was good enough... ]

I made some extras, just in case. Please wait a moment.

[ And so, Flynn momentarily disappears into the kitchen to fetch Fluffy some more... ]

[In the mean time, Rosette totters unsteadily in her chair, arms going around her midsection as the world spins in a faint green color.]

What....... ...

How does it taste like yogurt? We don't have yogurt!

[Chrono is better at composure while in dire pain, which is why he rounds on the lion with hushed urgency, once he's sure Flynn is out of earshot. He ignores Rosette's plaintiveness entirely, though it is a good question in its own right.]

Don't do it, it's not worth it!

Martin blinks, and his ears quirk, hearing someone's stomach make an anguished sound.]
