Summary: The Transports are evacuating to the Moon Base. Those on the Moon Base try to settle in and figure out their next move. Setting info can be found here.

The Hold is a flurry of activity, grim faced members of the Initiative group directing supplies and people with the subdued air of people facing their own doom, and wondering at how to process the knowledge. None of the Initiative appears unaware of what will happen; their eyes linger on the Transports, expressions pleading, hopeful, doubtful, or immeasurably sad in turn.

Every eight hours, the space ship is sent back up with a load of people and supplies. The pilots are worked until they can't; the AI stolen ages ago by the Initiative greets and corrals people and supplies at both ends, and in the middle step between.

The network continues to broadcast on narrow channels between the Moon Base and Exsilium, up until the time that all connections are lost, with the carrier located en route to Exsilium. The first airship will pass by without dropping anything, but it's too early to celebrate. At a six hour delay from behind, the second airship arrives, and with it, the dark promise of the Black Code's nuclear weaponry.

The six hour window allows for time for those left behind, either by choice or circumstance, to be pulled to the Moon Base with the successful activation of the Transport Pad. New characters will ultimately arrive with the remainder of those not yet on the Moon Base, all in time to witness the explosive contact of the nuclear warhead with the ground of Exsilium live on satellite.

But until then, there's only the hurry, the silence, and the potential for full out rioting should the Transports spread word to the Exiles inevitably left behind to face this fate.

Moon base, 25th onwards. OTA

[Alucard is, like most others, frazzled and stressed and scared. He does his best to hide it, and he's good at that, at least. He spends his remaining time in Exsilium collecting supplies and keeping to himself and out of the way of both Transports and Exiles alike. He wants to help, but he feels it's pointless. There's nothing he particularly can do to stop any of this, so he feels his best option, if he wants to help, is to remain calm and out of the way of those who are helping.

Once on the base, he's even less sure what to do with himself. He doesn't have much in the way of possession, but he does have a peculiar 3-headed hamster in a cage with him sitting in his new room. Running missions seems like a good idea, as they're going to need a lot of supplies to keep this place running. He'll also be stoping to speak with Initiative employees to see what they've got to say about this crazy situation, and what they think their chances of fixing everything might be.

You'll also find him wandering the base alone, orienting himself to his new surroundings. You'll find him in every wing looking things over. Like many others, he'll also be enjoying the view of the Earth and space, to a point. He'll be staring out a window, muttering quietly to himself.]

Blue Earth... But soon, there will be nothing for us there.

[He didn't realize anyone was nearby, so he looks a little surprised when he hears someone talking.] Ah. Mm, yes... The Initiative seems to think we can fix it, but I don't know if they're just saying that to placate us or what.

It's hard to say. I... I honestly don't know how time works here, so...

After coming here, I don't think I understand how time works at all. I don't like the idea of letting so many people die, only to shrug our shoulders and say "we'll fix it later". It seems... irresponsible.

But we don't really have a choice. The amount of energy released by the nukes is enough that we can't survive them if they drop, and there's too many to stop with just our few hundred - if we stop one ship, they'd just send two, if we stop two they'd send four... You get the idea.

It doesn't really make me feel any better. We're clearly losing this war, and fast. How long will we be trapped up here? I don't think they'll bother to come after us up here, at least....

....Yes. I suppose. [/SARCASM.] I also suppose standing around and moping about all this isn't getting us anywhere. [Time to raise his head, and square his shoulders. There's work to be done.] There's a lot to be done if we want to get this dealt with as soon as possible.

Think of it this way. It's very likely the United Earth are going to think we're all dead.

That gives us opportunities to cause all sorts of trouble we might not have been able to cause before.

True. That's something we need to take full advantage of. We should stay quiet as possible here until we're more confident in a move against them. For all I know, they might have a space fleet that can take us out if we do something stupid.

[The whole experience has been very tiring for Saori. She didn't like the idea of these plans whatsoever. Even without the tea house, she had to wonder how her now former employees were doing. Just then, she happened to come across Alucard. She smiled in relief but it fell when she heard him.]

Alucard, it's been a while. And yes, I do have to agree with you on that.

Oh, Miss Saori. [He's embarrassed anyone heard him. He clears his throat.] Yes, I came up as soon as I could. There... There wasn't much I could do down there, so I figured I start helping getting things set up here right away.

We both got the same idea apparently. My roommate and I got through the packing very quickly. Mana was getting rather fussy though but we managed to get him here too. I couldn't leave him down there, honestly.

[She lets out a sigh, mostly from the exhaustion and sudden escalation of events. Even a goddess can get tired.]

I never thought I'd be up in space. Honestly, I'm more comfortable having solid earth under my feet.

I agree. But I also prefer this over the alternative, I suppose. While being in space is incredible, I wish I could enjoy it without... [feeling guilty?]... the circumstances behind it.

[She nods. It's like her husband said, they can't save everyone but it never stopped her from trying.]

I know and I don't like it either. It's unfair we can't even at least save some of the locals. If they can house all of us, surely there could've been some space left.

Yes... Leaving them all behind like this is despicable. I guess there's nothing we can do about it now, though. We'll just have to work to right this as fast as we can.

[Mana at that point decided to start climbing up onto her shoulder. Even for the cat, it wasn't hard to pick how well she was taking the current events. He rubbed his face against her cheek and that got a small smile from her. ]

You're right. Not to mention it's our job as Transports to go back into time to prevent this from happening. I'm putting the tea house into hiatus for now but I plan to help with supply runs, making rice for us, and any other way that's available.

Yes, I... need to figure out what it is I can do for help. Supplies would be it, I guess. We're going to need a lot, since we're basically starting from scratch up here. [He sighs lightly, looking out of the window again. The situation was still sinking in, really.]

[Halfpipe has become a wanderer herself on the base, and stops next to Alucard as he gazes. For once, she's not in a joking mood.]

The worst shit always looks peaceful from the surface.

Mm... I can't help but think we could have done more. We're leaving them to one of the worst fates imaginable.

Thinking like that will drive you insane.

[It doesn't stop her, most of the time.]

We're supposed to be changing it, anyway.

And you expect anyone to not think like that? Leaving them behind on the pretense that we might be able to fix it later feels irresponsible. Like an excuse for being under-prepared. It feels more like the Initiative has no idea what it's doing, other than getting us to evacuate the planet entirely.

Well maybe it doesn't have any idea what it's doing. But unless you do, can you really judge?

They're the ones who are supposed to be experts here, not me. I'm some schmuck they dragged here in the hopes of... whatever it is they expect me to do. They're the one dragging people from their homes, not me. And while I'm still willing to help, I'm not the one to solve all these problems.
