Summary: Fairy Evacatuation times! NONE of them are happy about it.

[ She didn't like the idea of abandoning the locals; thinking they had less of a right to live than those who were asked - not even /asked/, but taken - to fight in a war that they had no business fighting. Up until now, Lucy was fine with helping out, thinking they were actually doing good and ... then THIS. She'd packed the most important things to her into a small luggage bag, and as Erza told them to meet up quickly at the Hall, and then they would continue on to the Hold and evacuate from there. She couldn't bring herself to look anyone in the eye the entire way there. She worried about how Erza and the others were taking the news, honestly, so she pushed open the door to the Guild Hall, taking a breath. Helloooo, anyone ranting in here? ]

No way! I won't leave these people to die!

[Yep there's ranting. Even after his talk with the guy in charge and Jack. The talk with Jack pissed him off especially. In fact he is so angry that he doesn't even notice Lucy instead he faces Erza who he knows shares his feelings on the matter. Yet she is saying they have to go anyway! He can't help but feel a bit betrayed.]

Keep your voice down, Natsu, they're scared enough as it is.

[Erza shares his feelings about this but at the same time she understands the reasons behind what they had to do, even if she hates it. If it were possible she would give her place to someone else. She faced the Dragon Slayer with arms crossed.]

Do you understand that staying here is certain death? There isn't a way to save everyone. Even if we had left days ago the aftermath of the explosion would still kill everyone in the vicinity.

[It makes her sick to say the words but she needs to make him see that there is no choice.]

[ How long have they been going at it like this, she wonders? Like Erza and Natsu, the idea of leaving Exsilium -/abandoning/ the hundreds here who they were supposed to be protecting, nauseating. Even hearing Erza response to Natsu, it hurts to hear out loud, knowing that there was nothing they could do. She swallowed uneasily, cleared her throat. ]

Erza... Natsu..? [ She made it~... not that she's happy about it. This was probably going to be the last time she set foot in the guild. ]

[Probably for longer than either of them knew. Natsu shook his head furiously at Erza's words and he activated his gauntlets.] I'll destroy them all! Before they even touch the ground! It's not the first time we've faced something like this!

[The Dragon heads form around his fists and there is a certain fire of indomitable determination in Natsu's eyes.]

[Even so he hears Lucy and turns his head to look at her. He spots the suitcase and the bags in her hands and he glares at them with hatred for everything they stand for. The need to flee. To abandon those who have housed and fed them. Those people at the restaurant he went with Lucy to. That drunkard Tank who got him in trouble. They would all die. The thought is enough to make one of the dragons around his fist snap at the thin air in protest.]

Say you succeed in destroying the missiles before they land, they'll still rain poison down on everything for miles. How would stop that? ~~RHETORICAL QUESTION~~

[She shakes her head; there was nothing Natsu could do. She frowns as Natsu becomes more aggressive, she knows he is angry and she was prepared to have that fury directed at her. She glances over to Lucy.]

Lucy... If you've left anything important in here I'd suggest you pack it now.

[ Lucy flinches at the look of rage on Natsu's face even though it isn't directed at HER, thank god. She couldn't think of anything as an alternative to what the Initiative said - not even any of her spirits. And she can't exactly ask them to let the other peope evacuate to the spirit world - that would be a HUGE imposition even if the Spirit King said yes, and humans - NORMAL humans - wouldn't be able to tolerate the spirit world anyway. Not without special attire. ]

... No, Most everything I had was back at my apartment. .. is there anything you want me to get for you?

[ She can't bring herself to look at Natsu - either of them really. The situation was -shades- of horrible all around. ]

[Natsu grits his teeth at Erza's words. When she put it into words like that is sure did sound hopeless. Until he he remembered one of his past battles.]

Then I'll use my magic to make a huge tower of fire and then the wind from that will blow the poison away!

[He doesn't know the mechanics just that it worked for stripping away Erigor's combat wind armor.]

[It wouldn't work, Erza knew it but she also knew that she would never convince Natsu not to attempt it. She takes a step toward him, seemingly relenting and places her hand on his shoulder.]

All right then, Natsu, we'll try that.

[This is going to be hard, not because it's difficult to do but because she knows she'll face the aftermath alone.]

[ Lucy wondered if something like that really would work.If Erza was willing to give it a shot, maybe there was a slim chance - but still, a slim chance was better than nothing. ... but at the same time, ... ]

Erza...

Eh?

[Hold on, Erza was backing him up on this? Did hell freeze over? Still if he got Erza on board then surely there was a chance! He grins eagerly and turns around.]

Hell yeah. We should go downtown then. There's a really tall building we can use to get high enough!

[Aaand his back is turned to Erza while he addresses Lucy.]

We can do this! Can't wait to see that jerk's face when we pull this off.

[The hit that would knock Natsu unconscious comes quickly and without hesitation but Erza is careful not to injure her friend. He would feel betrayed once he woke up, she knows that, but at least he would be alive.]

I'm sorry, Natsu...

[ Lucy was so hoping that Erza had reconsidered too. But she should have known better - really she should have seen the blow coming, but it still makes her flinch to see that punch. ]

Erza..!! But...

[ Natsu is going to be angry. And sore. Possibly more sore than angry. ]

[And he goes out like a light though the strike does register in that split second before he slumps to the floor like a puppet that had its strings cut. He is going to remember this. You can count on that.]

[Erza catches his limp body before it hits the ground; she could at least save his dignity. She pulls him over to one of the chairs in the hall and sets him down gently. She then turns to face Lucy. ~~the witness~~]

It wouldn't have worked, when Natsu fought Erigor it was a completely different situation. The weapons the EU will attack us with will poison the land itself even if the fire doesn't kill everything. And there's no guarantee that they would only send one.

[If both Natsu and Cobra were present they might have a small chance, but as it stood they had only two realistic options. Erza bunches her hands into fists.]

We either stay here and die or flee and survive.

[ Lucy winces at the sight of Natsu going down like a sack of potatoes, her gaze following Erza as she settled Natsu on the chair. Automatically she left her bags at the door, moving over towards the dragonslayer, about to reach out. She catches herself, turning to face Erza- that punch couldn't have been easy for her. . ...well. it was EASY, but ... ]

There...really isn't any other way, is there... ...fleeing, leaving so many behind... that isn't our way, Erza...

[ But she knows that what Erza says makes sense. It just... she just hates that it makes sense. That there's no other option. ]

[Lucy's acknowledgement just makes it feel worse and she rounds on the Celestial Wizard.]

No one knows that better than I!

[Whoops, she didn't mean to snap at you Lucy. There are visible tears in her eyes that she doesn't bother to wipe away.]

I'm not going to let you all die here, no matter what price I have to pay.

[She'll shoulder all of this herself to keep her precious friends safe.]

[ YGHK:LHSl ... HER... HEART.. JUst.. stopped. for a....about a minute there. when the Requip Wizard rounded on her like that, Lucy immediately shrank back, the color leaving her face. ... ]

E-erza! T.. that...

[ She wasn't pointing fingers - of course she knows how it must be affecting the redhead. ]

... I'm sorry, .. Of course I know you do. This... situation is...

[ Nooo, Erza don't take it all on your shoulders! ]

We would never ask that of you. Natsu... [ She trails off for a second. How to get her friend to understand there was no other way? Even Lucy didn't want to believe it. ]

I'll talk to him. [ Or she'll TRY at least. He was bound to be upset when he woke up and realized what Erza had done. ]

But Erza... you don't have to bear this alone. Now more than ever we need to stand together.

[Erza sighs and shakes her head.]

Yes of course, I'm sorry.

[To Erza it doesn't matter if she's asked or not; it's her responsibility. She would bear it so the wouldn't have to, but she doesn't want to talk about it anymore.]

We still have some things to pack, you should take the guild emblems down from the balconies. I'm going to get our flag down.

[She makes to leave but hesitates.]

...Thank you, Lucy.

[ Lucy knows when to drop a topic. She nods slowly. ]

I'll get them. And... I'll get Natsu's things too, before we leave. [ A blink at the hesitation, and the words of thanks, and Lucy smiles, shaking her head. ]
