The light almost looked pretty until the gray clouded it over. Kido stays watching that spot for a long time, hands in her hoodie pockets. She didn't like a lot of them. But she hopes they were in ignorance until the end. That kind of loss of life is beyond her, though.

B) [After she shakes herself out of that, Kido moves around, through the observatory, the vr rooms, the cafeteria, just looking for any new faces. This has got to be the worst welcome and they need someone to explain things.

Yeah this won't do at all. Kido feels depressed just looking through all the rations. And they're rations, she knows that. There's no way they can make anything good with this.
