i am a master hunter | OPEN
Date & Time: October 7th, evening.
Location: The VR rooms.
Characters: Gamora & YOU
Summary: Wanting to punch some monsters, Gamora travels to the 90s. This time without broken spines.
Warnings: Standard comic book violence, will edit as needed.
( The scene that Gamora programs into the VR is surprisingly mundane at first glance - a jungle island complete with muggy heat and the sound of the ocean in the distance. Gamora herself looks different - dressed in a fishnet one piece with a V cut into the front down past her navel, black fur cape, and a surprising amount of gold jewelry. It's familiar to her, at least, drawn on what she remembers from her longest stay on Earth previous to her arrival in Exsilium. A castle - thin and almost pathetic looking rather than imposing - rises out of the jungle in the distance and completes the setting.
But Gamora isn't there to dwell on past memories, she's there to keep herself entertained. And what better way to do that than adjust the programming so her physical strength increased to the level it was on Godthrab and let herself loose on Monster Island?
Which is why she's grinning when the first giant creature crashes through the underbrush and she dodges a swipe of a gigantic clawed hand. Low key, good old fashioned physical combat - there really was nothing better. )

( Not addressing the joke thing - mostly because Gamora doesn't care. Instead she opts for punching the head of the thing, knocking it unconscious.
Which means the remaining momentum continues to send it in Sarah's general direction. whoops, Gamora's bad. )

Look, crazy green lady. That wasn't me. [ huff huff ] I've never seen you before, so can we cut this trying to trample people bullshit?
no subject
( GAMORA THAT IS NOT HELPFUL. But before the monster falls completely to the ground, Gamora jumps off of it - throwing a blackflip into her decent simply because she can. the landing is perfect, however, and when Gamora straightens up it's to tower over Beth. What can she say, being six feet tall has its perks. )
Not my fault you got in the way, is it?
no subject
[ can you sense the weirdness when she says that word CAN YOU. because its about as hidden as the monster over there. sarah crosses her arms, standing as straight and tall as she can make her 5'5" self. ]
No, it's your fault you get some kinda kick out of this. [ huff. whatever, the thing is "dead", so she'll move on ] How'd you meet her?
[ if she's a friend of Helena's it might explain so much ]
no subject
( SHE SURE CAN and so Sarah gets this long, skeptical look. but lucky for her, she doesn't give a flark if she's hiding secrets that don't concern her - just the look of you're full of shit serves as enough of a sign that she knows. )
I've got to keep in shape somehow. ( Just another day in the life of Gamora. ) She ran into me, and then ran away because she couldn't handle the truth.
( about a universe full of impossible things, that is. )

And they like to copy people, I'm guessing.
[ her frown deepens ]
Sounds like her. What'd you say?
no subject
( Infiltration was their entire gig - trust no one. Planets falling before anyone noticed because by the time someone realized something was off, it was too late. )
That if she couldn't accept that it's possible to come back from the dead or live outside reality, she wouldn't last long here. Don't tell me you're as close minded as she is.
no subject
[ also aliens. how the hell was she to know how they did anything. ]
I'm nothing like her. [ there it is again. that shift in tone, that hostility, which only seems to last a second but would tell even strangers of the current status of their relationship. ]
It's not the first strange thing she's had trouble accepting.
aren't you supposed to be sleeping
( SPACE, IT'S PRETTY GREAT. )
You're twins - there's a part of you that is. ( she's just pointing out the fact that they look exactly alike at least gives them the surface appearance of it. ) Not strange to me.
sleep is for the weak!!
[ science fiction sounds more like cosima's thing. she lost sarah right at the start.
also the ambiguity of that sentence just makes the clone annoyed because it sounds like a lot more is implied. also hello identity issues. ] Not this time. [ there was no connection, no matter how much helena tried to insist. ]
What - you come back from dead all the time?
uh huh!!
( SHRUGS )
I don't make a habit of it, unlike someone I know.
no subject
If you're talking about me or her, I should tell you coming back alive isn't exactly a common thing. Also, I haven't died and I don't plan on it.
no subject
( Much to her annoyance. )
no subject
[ in fact, she thinks, who'd be stupid enough to think that death would be something trivial like that? ]
no subject
( Most of the time, and her eyes narrow on a point somewhere past Sarah's shoulder as she imagines punching the stupidity out of Adam Warlock. )
no subject
Friend of yours? [ or probably enemy, given the weirdness surrounding this woman. ]
no subject
( How's that for an answer Sarah might not have expected? It's better than saying 'ex boy-toy', but as far as Gamora's concerned Sarah hasn't earned the right to know any more about Gamora's personal life than any other stranger. And now that Adam's back--
But seriously, what about her makes anyone think she'd have friends. Or at least classify them as friends. )
no subject
You're not some kind of space cop, right?
no subject
( Despite an alternate future where she did join the Corps that she knows nothing about. Still, seeing the look on Rider's face if she ever managed to get out the words "I want to join up" might be worth it. )
Quill let Rocket name us the 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. Proactive ass-kicking force, but it's really a band of people with nothing else to do.
no subject
[ sounds like something Kira would probably watch - the thought of which makes sarah frown (as it always does when she remembers her daughter). ]
no subject
( Have a blank stare, Sarah. It's not an impressive name but it's the only one they've got. Not that Gamora cares. Nope. No caring here. )
no subject
[ buttkickers would've totally been a better name gosh!! ]
no subject
( Which makes things... difficult. You can either give up on them and assume they're not coming back and move on-- but then what happens if they do? If they don't come back the same, if they don't come back at all when they should? )
no subject
[ either if they stayed dead or if there was a guarantee each team - because truthfully, there are a few people she wouldn't mind seeing alive again. ]
no subject
It's just the way the universe works. You get used to it.
