Characters: 112 Residents! Kaede, Kano, Kido, Nimbus(and probably Sandstorm.)
Summary: but why is there a dragon in your house
Warnings: None!

[ Perhaps when Unit 112's residents return home, tonight, they were expecting to kick back, relax, maybe ponder the destructive properties of nukes on islands of various size. Maybe they were just coming back to retrieve something they'd left.

What they likely weren't expecting was a large winged reptile laying on the floor, peering closely at anything shiny that may have been left in plain view. There's likely another girl somewhere near her, if not lounging on her entirely. ]

It is a tight fit, but I suppose it will have to do, at least for a time. What a wretched thing to do, shoving me into a human-sized room.

I am named Nimbus. Apparently I am to live here as well, even if it is dreadfully small.

Y-Yeah it's a little... cramped, huh?

[Kido scratches the back of her head. Right, she can do this.] Maybe we can get rid of one of these beds on the bottom. Think that would be enough room for you? Uh, do you... need blankets or anything?

Blankets would be nice, but I would not want anybody to go without. I will be fine, probably.

[ Perfectly amiable, if still a little miffed by the arrangements. ]

[Kido is slowly relaxing. The dragon is... actually really polite.]

We can get extras no problem. Uh, sorry, I'm not good at this stuff so, if there's something you need to be comfortable, I can try to get it.

Certainly I would not make you go to any lengths for a stranger, of course, especially when you are so nervous of me.

How long have you been here, Miss Kido?

[She wants to deny the scared part but, well.]

Getting close to a year, kinda... about eight or nine months. The moon thing is pretty new. I didn't even think anything was up here.

[ At least she's polite. ]

I see; that is a long time. Are there others from your home as well?

Yeah, pretty much my whole gang is here. One of them, Kano, he lives in here too. He's kind of irritating and might bug you a little so sorry about that in advance.

I am used to small, irritating things. We have one of those at home; his name is Bila.

[ But, now you have her attention. Crossing her foreclaws, somehow ladylike... ]

Oh, you have a gang?

[She can't help laughing at the first part. Small irritating thing? Kano's description perfectly.]

Yeah, I do. Kano's number three. The rest are here, too, and we've expanded our group while here.

[ That does seem to perk her up a good deal. ]

Oh, what sort of things does your gang do? You are very young, I have noticed-- are all the gang your age? Some sort of schoolyard delinquents, perhaps, or are you more organized?

But, I suppose, my Sandstorm was not much older than you when we began, and though my maturity is greater I suppose I am younger in years.

[ ......

Kaede rubs her eyes when she steps into the room, thinking this is a dream. She shouldn't be surprised, but she is, although it won't show too much on her face. It's been a long day. ]

You must be our new roommate. Um, would removing one of the beds help?

If you would not mind, perhaps it would, and I can also definitely help you. I did not want to move anything around in case I was not welcome.

No, no, you're fine! I mean, it's not like I could even be picky if I wanted to, what with our current circumstances.

I'm Kaede, it's nice to meet you! [ She shoves the sleeves of her hoodie up as she looks at one of the bunk beds. ] Hm, luckily, they're stackable, but we have to find a way to make one of the beds attach to the wall so it's still in the air...

Oh-- if it is going to require so much work, do not mind it. Creating support beams may prove difficult if this place is low on proper supplies, and I would not want to put anybody in danger needlessly. I do not mind sleeping on the floor, and if I am too much in the way I can remain in the hall, I suppose.

No, no! Actually, I have an idea — I could use my powers to create a platform and therefore, we wouldn't have to worry about that!

[ Here is where she seems to blank. ]

"Your powers."

Ah, well, my power from the Initiative. I can manipulate ice. [ And as an example, she creates a small cube of ice. ]

[ AUGH. WHY. ]

All of this magic crockery is absolutely absurd.

[ Oops, Kaede hit a button she didn't realize she would hit. The ice cube is lightly tossed into the sink as she leans against the doorway. ]

It is not annoying so much as it is proving my world incorrect, and that part is annoying.

Your world doesn't have magic then, I assume?

[The door opens to one (1) short brat throwing open his arms dramatically, bags in hand.]

--I'm back, I'm back...!

[Ah. There's something wrong with this picture. Hold on. Hold... on...

Kano winds up standing there with his arms up, staring at the dragon.

That's new.]

[ By this point, she's already spoken with Kido-- she gives him a cursory once-over, head tilted curiously, but unsurprised. ]

Oh, I suppose you must be Kano. My name is Nimbus, it is nice to meet you.

[He, on the other hand, hasn't received notice about a dragon. But it's talking and it's friendly, so doesn't that mean it doesn't consider him a snack?? He lowers his arms.]

... eh, Kido didn't tell me about any new pets being brought in.

[ WHAT. ]

--I am no pet!

[DON'T BREATHE FIRE ON HIM he waves a dismissive hand.]

I'm joking, I'm joking! Don't be so uptight. Ah, it's not every day that a boy gets to see a dragon, y'know?

It is fine for you to say, because you were not called a pet, and implied to be under someone's rule-- how very rude! If I had called you a cur, or a rat, you would perhaps be offended as well.

[ Snorts, smoke puffing from her nostrils. ]

Regardless, we are rare in all parts of the world except the Spine, so I am told, so you would not have seen one anyway unless you lived there. Or you had dragons in your own world-- I am hearing of many, which is also absurd.

Well, well, it wouldn't be the worst thing I've been called. [Sadly true. He shrugs and sits on the bed, tossing the bags on the floor.] No dragons, unfortunately! All we had were Loch Ness Monsters.

Perhaps then you should be less facetious, and you would not be called such.

"Loch Ness Monsters?"

They looked like you, only slimier and without the wings. They're really rude. They take forever in line.

--I am no monster, either! But you are speaking of sea serpents.

Eh, are there sea serpents in your world, too? What sort of reputation do they have?

Certainly there are, and not very good ones-- they are dumb beasts with no real language of their own, and don't even realize their own strength.

Ah... I see. Well, you seem tame enough. [He laughs a little.] So I guess you can stay if you'd like-- hey, but you don't sleep in beds, do you?!
