[OPEN!] glamaphonic, electronic, d-d-disco baby

Date & Time: October 15th-20th
Location: Cafeteria, wandering the halls,
Characters: Dist and YOU
Summary: You know what this moon base needs? More elegance.
Warnings: Questionable morals, lipgloss, will update as necessary.

A]
Dist is eating alone. Well, he's been used to it for a while now. Sometimes, honestly, he prefers it that way. These oafs were just jealous of him! They couldn't comprehend his genius! That was it, certainly.

He's sitting at a table, chewing gingerly on a protein bar. He supposed it could be WORSE- at least it has a mildly pleasant flavor. Oddly, years of military school, and then in Daath, meant he wasn't the pickiest eater when push came to shove.

Come enjoy a meal with Dist, Exsilium. It's like a date but way more terrible.

B]
If a casual conversation over lunch (dinner? whatever) isn't your cup of tea, rest assured that Dist is roaming the hallways. You get three guesses what he's looking for, but he's mumbling to himself, and at one point, he stops and paces for a few minutes in front of a large window showcasing the outside.

"...if I could isolate that frequency...hm...that doesn't account for temperature...but the third fonon...then perhaps the fifth...hmmmm..."

He spends a fair deal of time wandering the halls muttering to himself about fonons and things like that. It certainly helps with him image as the most sane scientist on this base, doesn't it?

"I was here once before and got sent away. Tell me what happened when I was here."

There were honestly much more polite ways to go about that, but Asch was sick of Dist already, and he hated having to pander. If Dist couldn't handle that then Asch would just have to rely on bribing him.

Jade was scary. Getting looked at like that by the Necromancer would have put Asch on the defensive, ready to fight, retreat, or negotiate at a moment's notice--whichever option would keep him intact the longest.

With Dist is just makes him impatient. He crosses his arms after only a second of Dist's staring, and is about to tell him to hurry up when he finally answers.

"... That's it?" That... wasn't quite what Asch was expecting, actually. Not that his actions made no sense--quite the opposite--but that it was the first thing Dist decided to mention.

"Why were you waiting for him at our house?" Asch could take a guess, of course, but he honestly wasn't sure which if his notions on the matter would be the most accurate. He's known Dist for years but the man could still surprise and baffle him.

Like his complete obliviousness to why he was locked out. Asch isn't bother going to explain his reasons, but he can't help but laugh at the idea that Luke giving him the cold shoulder was unfathomable. "You really think one of that man's friends wants anything to do with you?"

"Hmph. It was the Necromancer that invented fomicry, you know." Despite his calm contempt, the conversation was skirting far too close to issues that Asch had no desire to address in front of Dist. He abruptly shifts the topic to something else.

"What did you want to talk to Jade for, anyway?"

The sheer scope and depth of Dist's self-delusion continues to impress Asch. How can one person be so oblivious? Fortunately he's long since learned not to pry into it too much. Getting Dist on a rant about Jade and other people and situation he completely misunderstands was a great way to pointlessly waste an afternoon. He manages to keep his expression from shifting too far towards dumbfounded amazement, though there are traces of it there.

"What sort of work?"
iciclerain: (the » way i'm going)

There it was. That was exactly what Asch had been worried about. Jade... he doesn't trust Jade, but he knows that Jade knows better than to dabble in fomicry again. Dist, on the other hand...

"What did the initiative want to know about replicas?" He tries to not sound too accusatory, but it's a failed attempt. He has no reason to trust Dist and even less to trust to the Initiative. If they're interested in fomicry, it's bad news no matter what.
