someone is gonna
Date & Time: week of 10/21, and who cares what time WE'RE ON THE MOON
Location: ON THE MOON. in unit 113
Characters: Heath, Jericho
Summary: at some point people who sleep in the same space are going to meet. AT SOME POINT.
Warnings: ? ?
Joey really needed to invest in a second set of clothes...
He entered Unit 113 more than slightly sweaty from training, hair stuck to his face and trying to sting his eyes again and again, smelling...well. The way a sweaty teenaged boy was bound to smell after that amount of hard exercise. It wasn't particularly ambrosial, unless someone found athlete's foot appealing.
Frankly, Joey found it appalling. And, once he plopping down on one of the bunks (whose, he didn't bother to check), a-peeling, too. Ew.
As he peeled his socks off and let them drop to the floor in a grimy little clump, he came to a realization. Laundry day was no longer in the realm of wishful thinking; it had climbed the pyramid of necessity and hovered just below hot shower.

"Then that's good. That's what more people should do."

His mouth tugged to smile one of those bland, general-acceptance kind of smiles that come from a conversation one's not wholly invested in. He was aware he ought to be more...engaging, considering how vibrant Heath's own input was. But the energy wasn't there, so more potent was the internal kick to try and be more helpful. It was the right thing to do.
It was what moved Jericho's fingers across the keypad once again:
Have you already looked around the base and found where everything is?

"I've looked around, but I probably haven't seen everything yet. The place is pretty big, for a base on the moon. Especially if there are super secret places here." A pause, and a surreptitious glance around their obviously empty room. "Are there super secret places here? You can tell me, bro, I wouldn't tell a soul."

"Darn, a guy can hope, right?"

"Anyway, soon everything will be fixed and we'll be on that island, right? Because that place sounds way better than being stuck on the moon."

Back to the tablet:
It's not that easy...everything down there was destroyed...and radiation and the enemy across the ocean...

Heath still has such a simplistic little existence, where things can be accomplished easily, with very little thought put into silly things like consequences.

It took a while to write, and there were hesitations and deletes in there:
Some stuff has changed but...a lot of things seem to have gotten worse instead of better. :\ I don't know...Maybe?

"So it's like that cartoon where that guy went back in time and stepped on a bug in the dinosaur age, then came back and there were killer robots everywhere? Like the tiniest change can make a big difference?"
