[Closed] from the table in the corner
Date & Time: November 14th, Evening
Location: Storage room off the east end loading dock
Characters: Super Secret Mutineer Club
Summary: The first and likely only group meeting of the mutineers.
Warnings: Plotting nefarious deeds
Notes: If you're on the mutineer team for the upcoming plot, get your revolutionary butt in here.
[A: SHOP TALK & TACTICS]
[While it's a slow trickle in - arrivals are staggered to keep from drawing too much attention - by the time everyone's assembled in the storage block off the east loading bay, it's begun to feel cramped and slightly less secret than it ought to be. But Charlie supposes that might just be a side effect of getting twenty odd people in a room meant for spare parts and a general anxiety about someone running their mouth when they ought not to.
He's not necessarily happy with everyone in the room - shares a few hissed words under his breath with Chloe about 'Those are children; who the hell dragged them into this?' - but it is what it is. So time to make the best of it.]
Oi, heads up. [Already a tall man, Charlie's hard to miss as he climbs up on one of the crates in the storage room. He raises his hand, snapping his fingers a few times until the low murmur of the room falls quiet.] Alright, I'm not going to waste anyone's time here. We all know why we're here - we deserve more than the Initiative's been giving over to us and can’t waste time sitting about while they come to the same conclusion. So-- [Charlie pauses; those are a lot of faces looking back at him.] --let’s not make a mess of it, shall we?
Which means [Chloe's quick to step in from behind, taking at least some of the pressure off Charlie's impressively diplomatic start.] we all know what it's gonna take to pull through this without making it any harder than it has to be. [She glances at Charlie briefly, goes back to staring out at the gathered crowd. Just as casual as ever. ] We need to slip in, grab the transporter and hold onto it for as long as it takes for us to get what we want.
What we deserve.
[B: ~*~MUTINY MIXER~*~]
[It's not much of a party without snacks. Sure, rebellions aren't all about punch and pie, and most revolutionaries prefer to starve for their ideals, but most revolutionaries aren't Chloe and Charlie. A few crates have been stacked against the far wall to lay flat as something of a makeshift table, and once the discussion winds down Chloe heads over to set out a wide variety of-- food. Sort of. Stale cookies and bottled water, left over MRE packs with the moon's sorriest excuse for silverware.
Whatever, she tried.] If anyone's hungry and needs a quick bite before heading out the door, help yourselves.
[Seriously for the love of god, someone eat the cookies. They’ve been growing slowly stale and crumbled in their room for over a week and Charlie can’t stomach the idea of trying to haul them anywhere else.]
And no one leave all at once. Twos and threes at a time.
((ooc: All responses to A should go in the shop talk sub thread; anything to do with option B/post meeting schmoozing and CR building can be individual threads!))

I've had it done to me.

And your mind is clearly still yours, since you wish to risk it happening again for the sake of the people. Very well. Since death will not serve us, tell me of their defenses. I hear there is a guard force?
[ While the police may have good intentions, he wasn't sure they would side with the rebels so easily. ]

They're unorganized on a good day and any authority they carry is because most people can't be bothered. [But he won't deny that they've got connections they don't - he's spent enough time monitoring the network to know that much.] What we ought to be worried about is DITR - Goodman plays nice with the Initiative and people seem to like him.
no subject
Tell me more of this "DITR" and the one you call Good Man. What do they seek to accomplish?

He raises a brow at the strange gesture. The man looks like he's trying to hook words out of thin air. But his sarcastic tone is not missed. ]
To keep the people happy and unwilling to disobey. I understand. Do they pose enough of a problem that we need to eliminate Saul Goodman?

Look, we're in a tight spot here and if we're going to do this properly, we need to make as few enemies as possible. Violence isn't going to get us very far very fast.
[Christ, if someone had told him six months ago that in the future he'd be advocating for a 'peaceable takeover', he'd've laughed in their faces. Because there's no such thing. But minimizing the collateral damage? Would be worth it even if only on the principle that they were stuck on the moon and would need people afterward if they were going to get anything done properly.]

That is what I hoped to hear. I would rather it not come to that if I can help it. If for nothing else than because it is difficult to kill a man and escape the confines of an isolated fortress.
[ ...on the moon. Sometimes that fact comes crashing down on him without warning. Eking out a life on the surface of an airless celestial body is not something a man of his time would regularly ponder. ]
And if we can slip in before the Initiative and its loyal followers have a chance to stop us, all the better.
if we want to avoid the threadjacking i can delete this!!
[The death knight, who had been lurking in the background until that moment, quite suddenly lifts herself of the wall and approaches the two men and their conversation with folded arms.]
Are we to play the part of martyrs while the slaves toil away happily on the moon?
no sshhh threadjack away
You have the right to defend yourself. But do it in kind, yeah? I'm not saying anyone ought to be bloody sacrificial lambs here, alright, but if we go hard to start then you can bet the people who don't agree with us will turn that into ammunition for why we're not to be trusted.
Why hello there~~~
What use would we be dead? So the living can twist our words and deeds? I would hope that everyone here wishes to prevent death, on both sides. Lives need not be taken for this sort of mission.
[ Get in, take the Transporter, send a message to the Initiative, and end things (mostly) peacefully. That's the plan, anyway. ]

[Seviilia chuckles and glances toward Altaïr. She doesn't bother to advertise how she plans to handle things.]
If someone doesn't want something to happen badly enough, then you can be rest assured that there will be force involved.
[As she turns to glance toward Charlie in kind, her head sort of...rolls on her neck and she gives him a sly smile.]
You needn't trouble yourself over that. I, dear fearless leader, lie down for nothing.
no subject
[He shares a glance between the two of them.] Don't treat anyone like they're just some faceless enemy off the bat. I can't promise that they'll give you the same courtesy, but this is about giving transports a say in how this war goes - not stirring up a bloody riot.

If I have my way, they won't have the opportunity to swing a 'business end' at me. I am trained to prevent wasting time with needless fighting and go for the head – so to speak. The Initiative and its supporters have made our lives difficult, but I have not marked any of them for death.
[ Yet. ]
I suppose we shall see how they respond to our actions. If they wish to worsen the conflict by trying to kill us, I will defend myself accordingly.
