CLINIC LOG: MUTINY TIME
Date & Time: November 16th - November 19th
Location: Transport Moon Clinic
Characters: ANYONE AT THE CLINIC.
Summary: For those poor souls who are at the clinic at any point during the mutiny! Officially the clinic is neutral to the conflict, so people from either side are welcomed!
Warnings: It's a clinic, so really anything goes.
[Were you on the clock when the mutiny started? Just coming in to pick up your paycheck? Or were you just some unlucky soul getting that mysterious rash checked out when the doors decided to shut for several hours? Well welcome to the clinic! Get comfortable! You might be here awhile unless you want to brave some moody doors!]
[But don't worry! There's more than enough to keep you semi-comfortable during the mutiny! The clinic is fully outfitted with medical supplies, mushy and terrible hospital food (as well as jello and pudding), outdated magazines, a few books, a deck of cards, a VHS collection with a VCR and best of all? One of these...thingies.]
[So do what you need to do! Make yourself comfortable, try to escape when the door seems to be open, take a nap, have some food, debate about the mutiny, or see what inappropriate things you can get away with in an exam room! The choice is yours.]
[Oh and I guess there's actually helping people with injuries and illnesses. I guess that's a thing too]
[OOC: this post is as open as can be. Make your own thread with prompt, comment around- go nuts! As stated before, the clinic is officially neutral in the conflict, but that doesn't mean you have to be!]

What's an echo? Are you sick?
[And why did you look at him like he killed your family?]
no subject
I'm not ill.
An Echo... it is the power I was given from [ a falter; ] birth. [ or so she thinks. ] It is the ability to peer inside another's mind, to experience what they've experienced for a short while. A memory. It is involuntary! Minfilia said it was, ah, common... for it to be taxing on a body.
I... I seem to have seen a memory of yours.
no subject
[He isn't expecting that last bit though. He pales visibly.]
My memory? [Suddenly, his mouth feels incredibly dry. Does he even want to know? Ah, but if she saw it, if she really saw it, then...
His hands tremble. He squeezes them into fists and looks away.]
What-- what did you see?
no subject
[ she stares at the blankets, uneasy, as the events replay in her mind. earth crumbling above her, falling around them-- somehow, in the midst of his memory, she had utmost faith in this 'van' figure. the memory of that little boy crying out for help rewound and replayed until she pressed her hands to her face, covering her eyes. ]
It was... Ak... seriuth?
no subject
He lets out a little breath. He looks about as stricken as she does, but he's trying to be strong.]
I'm sorry. [All he wants to do is run, but that would be dumb. There's nowhere to go, and besides, this girl's sort-of-sickness is basically his fault.] No one deserves to see that.
If you don't want anything to do with me, I-- I understand.
no subject
Now, now, you shouldn't think like that.
[ she swallows her next words, because honestly... that was terrifying. she grasps the thin fabric she's been given instead of her regular clothes. ]
I did not only see it happen, but I felt your emotion, your... trust. You were misguided, yes, but you... hadn't seen it at the time.
I cannot truly fault you for such a thing.
no subject
Wh... what?
[It takes him a moment to get his bearings.]
That doesn't excuse what I did. Tear was telling me all along not to trust him, and there were other signs too. But I was just so-- so ignorant. I didn't want to accept that I might be wrong about something.
I'm not like that anymore, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm... a murderer.
no subject
Ignorance is easily treated, I've realized. The deaths of many are on your hands, yes... but I do not believe it is murder.
No, I hardly believe it is simply your fault. [ not with what she saw... 'foolish replica luke', huh? her voice is a little softer as she drops her hand. ]
It's not a simple matter.
no subject
... You're so kind. Even after suffering through that vision, even though you don't even know me, you still... believe in me somehow.
[He raises his eyes to look at her, smiling gently, but there's something undeniably sad about it.]
Thank you... ah, I don't know your name.
no subject
[ she's seen that kind of sad smile on several people's faces--it never ceases to make her sad, herself. he must have gone through so much pain to come to be who he is now. ]
Allumette Honeycutt, Second Private of the Immortal Flames.
[ but then, she laughs. ]
Allu is preferable to most.
no subject
Sorry about what happened, Allu. [He tilts his head a little.] I'm Luke. [He has a couple of titles, but even now he can't see them as his. He's not military, anyway.]
A private? So you're a soldier?
no subject
We are, essentially, freelance backup. [ and then, a little smirk; ] Who tend to be far more adept than some officers.
no subject
[He wonders what it's like just to go adventuring and traveling because one wants to, and not because the end of the world necessitated it.]
no subject
[ she taps her chin, looking up at the ceiling. ]
I've heard 'mercenary' thrown about a lot in my stay here... this must be a popular profession in many worlds. Yet, many of us do not fight on front lines at all. The bulk of adventurers simply act as errand men and women and specialize in their skills... not many are personally contacted to join Grand Companies, and even fewer asked to fight incredibly strong foes. [ her mind lapses into thought again, the experience running through her mind--of fighting ifrit alone, of staring down an impossible god and being forced--by either life or death--to put him down.
it doesn't ache in her head like it usually does; it feels lighter, and she's unbeknownst to the possibility that she's letting luke peer into her mind. ]
no subject
[He trails off abruptly as he feels like he's being pulled into someone's mind. It doesn't hurt quite as much as when Asch calls him, but it still catches him off guard. He clutches at his hair unconsciously as if he might be able to claw his way out of the vision.
A beast with horns-- people hailing it-- and (himself?) tiny and strong, untouched by blue fire.]
Aaaaugh!
[And the monster is /mad/. He says something about gods that Luke doesn't catch and wreathes the world in flame. That's when the vision releases him.]
no subject
[ when he clutches his head, she jerks up, blinking at him, startled when he cries out. ]
Luke! [ dear hydaelyn--what's going on? she launches out of her bed, frightened and concerned. should she go ask for a nurse? she doesn't know what to do, she doesn't know what's happening.
(and she has no idea this is how people likely see her.) ]
no subject
[Eventually he uncurls, blinking blearily. He lowers his arms.]
Was that... you? I saw... a giant thing with horns. There were people praying to it. And it wanted to destroy... me? You? [He shakes his head slowly.]
I thought only Asch could do that.
no subject
You--you saw Ifrit?
[ oh god. that must've been horrifying. she'd been able to hold her own, but to someone who didn't know... after swallowing back a few panicked words, she nods slowly. yes. that was her. and yes--ifrit wanted to destroy her. ]
no subject
It's okay. I mean, it was scary, but I've fought things like that too. But you-- you were by yourself. You're amazing.
I just wish I knew how that happened. I mean, I was just sitting there talking to you, and then...
no subject
but... that's the hard part. figuring out what happened. slowly, she brings her arms crossed over her chest. ]
... it's as if you, too, had the Echo. Yet--that... couldn't be true... you don't have that sort of power, do you?
no subject
Sort of, but it's only with one person.
no subject
[ she presses her lips into a thin smile, but it worries her. ]
That... should not be possible. Even Minfilia and I... Badra and I...
[ she shakes her head. ]
I'm sorry.
no subject
... Why are you apologizing? It's not your fault it happened.
Maybe something changed when you were brought here. Maybe your weapon is doing weird stuff. [He shrugs, and manages a tiny smile.] It's not really important. Just rest up, okay?
no subject
[ ... oh, of course. her lips part and she stares at the ground as if piecing together a puzzle beneath her feet. she perks back up when he speaks again, and she rubs the back of her neck. ]
Oh--yes. Of course.
